Truly, this is the best Starbucks in Boise. Let me explain. I worked at Starbucks for ten years, so I understand what it's like and how hard the staff works. This store is busy, and yet they always find ways to be kind and offer amazing customer service. They walk your drink to your table. They offer to top your latte with cinnamon. When I bring in my goofy old parents and my dad orders in a way that makes no sense, they smile and ensure he gets the beverage he'd actually like. Despite the high number of teenagers that hang out here, the store is always clean. They actively are always tidying things up. Beyond that, the staff seems to be kind to each other, and they just set a warm and welcoming tone in the cafe. I can get coffee anywhere but come back for the service. I am so grateful this store is in my neighborhood and I get to support these hard working people. Please, stop by because if you've given up on Starbucks, there are stores like this that will make you smile. read more

Manager needs to wake up!!! Do not come here mid day during the week. It is full of high schoolers from across the street. They bring their lunch or buy from chipotle and take up all the tables, like this is their cafeteria. Most of them don't buy anything from SB and just take up tables to eat their lunch they bring from outside places. read more

This is why I stopped trying to like Starbucks. On a not so busy day inside, busy through the drive-through, three barista machines running, I ordered three hot chocolates. They actually made one at a time while they got everybody else's drink in the restaurant. There was probably about five other people, maybe seven, that had come through. Complex drinks, not a simple hot chocolate. I stood there for about 10 to 13 minutes for three hot chocolates. Even the barista that did not make my drinks felt bad and realized that I was there an excessive amount of time due to her colleague's latency. I had an extremely unpleasant experience, again. I will stop going to Starbucks. I do not know for sure that my USA, veteran, sweatshirt had anything to do with it. read more

This location is only a few blocks away and a straight shot on my way to work in the morning, and yet, I will be going out of my way to find an alternative from now on. For the third visit in a row my drink has been made incorrectly. This time (see pic) the "venti" had 2 inches of empty space before you hit coffee. And no, it didn't have whip cream that melted. Sure, complaining about complex, gourmet coffee being mixed incorrectly is probably going to come across a little.. high maintenance. But here's the truth: if I'm going to pay $5 every morning for something I could essentially make at home, it had better be consistent and well made. Starbucks ALWAYS used to hold to a very high standard, repeat your order, spot-on every time. Lately, none of those things are happening. And at this point, it simply doesn't make any sense to go there every morning, and drop cash to get... whatever the barista chooses to make me. read more

This Starbucks is ridiculously uncomfortable. No cozy, peaceful places to sit and drink coffee. With a million doors and this and that and traffic, it's noisy, busy, awkward. In other words not feng shuid right. No idea what the interior designer was thinking. read more

Guys, we know your busy in the morning but slow it down and get it right. Ordered a white chocolate mocha and it was very bitter and 2/3 full. As a business owner I would never deliver food that is sub-par. You have one shot to get it right. You are the face of the corporation. People don't pay for that. It is part of the hospitality business. Went the next morning to give them another chance... wife ordered a caramel macchiato and I ordered another white chocolate mocha (drive through). The orders came out tasting exactly the same and neither of the drinks tasted like what we ordered. Took the drinks in to let the cashier know... she was quick to point out that there was a label on the drinks that said what they were :-/. I tried to be nice about it but I immediately found myself telling her I knew how to read. They did remake the drinks and they were not too pleased about it. Neither were up any standard that Starbucks should have and they did make sure that the drinks were not the same... but still, a customer spends $11 dollars for 2 drinks, you would think they would be of quality. If you want coffee I would recommend the gas station across the street... Reduced to one star. Won't be coming back. read more

I went to this Starbucks and had a very simple order. This was my second time trying this location, and the last time they gave me the wrong drinks. I decided to give them a second chance. When they handed me the hot chocolate I immediately felt that it was only half full. I asked if they wouldn't mind filling it up the rest of the way since this was for a friend and they said yes, I got it back and they had filled it up with whip cream. When I got to my friends all of the whip cream was melted and the drink was still half full. I also order a caramel machiotto and it was not good at all. Very disappointed, I've been a Starbucks drinker for 19 years don't know if I will ever go back to this location which is sad because it is right by my house. read more

Came in early morning before 7am on our way back to Portland, and the place was clean, staff were friendly, and although the drive through was slammed it really didn't take that long to get our order. When you consider just how few people are actually making the drinks I thought it was pretty amazing watching them work. This Starbucks is super close to my home, although convenient, not worth the effort or time. I have tried to regularly attend this Boise Ave location for about 6 months. Within the 6 months I have notice the following: staff is usually rushed. Staff usually not in a good mood, no matter the time of day. (few are fine). The product produced and services is usually sloppy. Never quite what you order, if you attend the drive through. Occasionally this location will be out of a product, such as cups or a particular blend, then charges you for "what you get, rather than what you ordered" and quote "we are out of small cups, pay for the medium or don't get the coffee". After today's visit, I will prolly never return. Too bad this location is a stone's throw away. Dutch Bros will now receive 100% of my business. read more

I have very berry drink at various Starbucks locations And it's pretty good drink. At this boise and Apple store I asked for extra berries and the drink came out with a light tint and with no flavor, seemed and tasted like tinted water only. The teenage Employees have either no training and/or don't care about the product they make. I will never return to that location. read more

This is a really nice Starbucks. I love the modern look and feel of it since they renovated about a year ago. They also have the exclusive Reserve Roastery blends (only a fraction of Starbucks locations offer these) so if you really like specialty blends/ exotic beans, you can find them here. I give it three stars though, because they are so slow every time I come here. I'd say I wait on average one minute for my drink at most Starbucks locations, but every time I come here I'm consistently waiting 4 or more minutes. Doesn't seem like a lot, but it feels like an eternity when other locations (and other coffee joints) have a much quicker speed of delivery. It's puzzling that they're so slow because they always have 5 or 6 employees in there that appear to just be getting in the way of one another behind the counter. read more

Went through the drive thru and ordered an iced macchiato. When I got to the window I was handed a hot drink. I am absolutely positive I asked for iced. So they remade my drink which took forever and when I started to drink it, it was like drinking water it was so gross. I'm pretty positive it was intentionally made crappy because they had to remake my drink. read more

The staff here is so rude. When the cashier rung up my order she just threw my card back on the counter. Then it took forever for my grande coffee when there was only one other customer in there who already had their coffee. Also when my order was ready they just put it on the counter didn't say that it was ready or didn't call my name. I took it and walked out and she didn't say a word. read more

Not sure what has happened at this location. Twice this week they have run out of cinnamon. Kind of a first world problem, I suppose, but when paying Starbucks prices, strange that manager can't go over to Albertsons and get some cinnamon if they forgot how to otherwise order. We like coming to Starbucks. We buy our coffee here for at home, so when we feel lazy, drive thru here we come. Good service, helpful and inside always has a nice vibe to it. Unprofessional, childish, and slow... I stopped by on St, Patrick's day at 3:45, while taking my wife to work and ordered a green tea lemonade and slice of banana bread. We were the only car in the drive through but when we got to the window, it was open. The green tea lemonade was sitting in the shaker but we couldn't see any staff. There was a bit of commotion and finally a girl named Sophia came to the window. She took my card and the entire time she was slowly taking care of my transaction, another male employee was behind her throwing cups on the floor and at her. She finally turned around and finished making the drink, handed it over and while she was handing back my card, the other employee came over and said "sorry she took so long. She's too busy throwing cups at me"... all while they were still playing grabass and throwing things at each other. She handed my card back and said thank you without giving me the banana bread. By this point, I was already frustrated and my wife was going to be late for work. I asked for the banana bread, knowing it would still take a minute or so to heat it. A few minutes went by and another male who we hadn't seen yet, comes up to the window and tells us they are out of banana bread. Seriously? You just now realized this? I've worked in restaurants for years and I know that any successful, especially corporate business, keeps a count when they are getting low on something. Not only did he tell me they were out, he just stared at me without offering any sort of alternative. I had to ask what other options there were and settled for pumpkin bread... that he turned around and put in a bag and handed over cold. Maybe if the three of them weren't so concerned with flirting, playing games and wasting the company's time and materials, we could have gotten our two items in less than the 15 minutes it took and my wife would have been to work on time. I will always drive the extra two miles to go Dutch from now on. At least they can have fun and be productive at the same time. read more

I have been coming to this Starbucks for several years now, and they have progressively gotten worse. Just today, I was wrongly charged for the drink I get EVERYDAY and when I said something, the lady there said something along the lines of, "We know how to do our job. What we charge depends on who the person is entering the drink and their discretion." How hard is it to enter a Mocha Coconut Frapp? Hard, evidently. The one guy that works there is rude to me everytime I come by, and while there are a few nice girls there, I'm taking my business elsewhere. When I treat myself to an expensive coffee drink, I expect to be treated with a least a little niceties. Treating someone the way I am treated there wouldn't EVER fly in my workplace, and I don't expect it to anywhere else, either. read more

Wow this is a first! I am not a person to write negative reviews but after my experience here I had to... I visited this Starbucks at approx: 6:50pm on 03AUG2013. I just ordered water at the drive-threw.... Now I am not sure about you but I love the water filters that Starbucks uses... nothing compares. I don't usually just order water but when I do I always TIP because Starbucks doesn't charge for water. So first thing I noticed is the girl who served me "Cortney" disappeared with the cups for a brief moment then returned to the water station that was in view and poured my waters:( then handed the waters with a condescending "Enjoy your waters" I had already given her my TIP and I drove out into the parking lot. My wife was already pointing out a lot of debris including fibers, particulates, and an unidentified substance. Upset I took it back in. I will spare you the details but I will tell you the "their" lack of surprise and remorse said it all. BAD BAD BAD employee's. I feel that Starbucks is a great business and they have even better products, its to bad their employees don't feel the same way. read more

I consistently have pretty bad service whenever I come into this Starbucks specifically, which tells me it is not a company-wide thing. I come in frequently and most of the baristas when I come in recognize me, however only a few of the employees are ever nice to me and the rest of them are just there. I work in food service as well and at my work, we focus very heavily on giving people friendly customer service. It is rare that I get a smile or so much as a "Thank you, have a nice day" from any of these baristas. Most recently, I ordered two items on the app at about 11:15 in the morning and arrived at the store about 10 minutes later. There was only two cars in the drive thru, one person ordering on the counter, and at least 4 people working the floor. I grabbed my drink off the area where they keep mobile orders and waited for my croissant. When it came out a minute later, the girl handed it to me and as I said "Thank you", she rolled her eyes at me for no obvious reason. If I had done something like that at my work, and a manager saw, I would have gotten written up. Frequent unfriendly service and inaccurate orders? WILL NOT BE BACK. read more
