If you're holding gift cards or gave gift cards as holiday gifts, get in touch with the Kellys (at the White Rabbit number or page I assume) as they will refund them. Sarah is a remarkable chef and DK could teach a master class on hospitality. Those two things combined are part of the reason their businesses, White Rabbit, Petite 4 and prior to that the downtown sandwich shop Bleu Bird (in the space now occupied by Lemon Tree) were so popular. The Kellys say they are staying in Boise and that is a good thing for all of us who like to eat; to see where their creativity will take them. In the meantime, the Rex's have built a wonderful restaurant empire of successful, quality enterprises in less than 10 years since relocating to Boise from California. Best known among them is The Wylder and Percy, both in downtown Boise, but they also own others including Wyld Child that is in the same neighborhood as White Rabbit. So it is very good news for people who love good food in Boise, that the Rex's are the people who the Kelly's contacted to buy their beloved buildiong. This store is busy, and yet they always find ways to be kind and offer amazing customer service. They walk your drink to your table. They offer to top your latte with cinnamon. When I bring in my goofy old parents and my dad orders in a way that makes no sense, they smile and ensure he gets the beverage he'd actually like. Despite the high number of teenagers that hang out here, the store is always clean. They actively are always tidying things up. Beyond that, the staff seems to be kind to each other, and they just set a warm and welcoming tone in the cafe. I can get coffee anywhere but come back for the service. I am so grateful this store is in my neighborhood and I get to support these hard working people. He gave us some bread, but the food came out in a strange order. First the pizza (we never got our fried zucchini app) then our side salads over flowing with dressing, then our wife's meals. Our wife's were just watching us eat our pizza, because it would have got cold if we waited for them. It took 45 mins to get our food from when we ordered. Then I hear from the group next to us (they got there before us) tell the waiter we can't wait anymore can you just box up our food? The restaurant was only about half full, there shouldn't be this issue. We had a lot of time to look around waiting for our food, I noticed paint chipping all over, a lot of dust, some lights were missing their glass covers and the ones that did were covered with fingerprints. Just not the level of cleanliness would expect for a place that serves food. Shut the restaurant down for one day and clean and do some maintenance. The food is just ok, it's definitely not worth the wait. It seems like the Chef needs to get his stuff together. If he can't handle it, hire help because you keep this up and your business won't last. The whole thing just seems miss managed and as if the place had an uncaring type attitude...
