From the very first time I walked into District Coffee in downtown Boise, I could tell this place was special. The staff are incredibly friendly, professional, and genuinely kind. What really stood out to me is that they greet you like they are truly happy to see you. Even on my first visit they made me feel welcome, and now every time I walk in they greet me like a familiar face and make me feel right at home. That kind of consistency and warmth is rare and says a lot about the people who work there. The space itself is fantastic. It is always spotless, the ambiance is relaxed, the music is great, and there are so many comfortable places to sit depending on your mood. Sometimes I relax on the couches, other times I grab a table or sit near the window and enjoy the view. They also have plenty of outdoor seating, which is perfect on sunny Boise days and makes it a great place to sit outside and enjoy the atmosphere. It is one of those places where you can easily spend time working, meeting someone, or just enjoying a great cup of coffee. They also have great food, which makes it even better whether you are stopping in for a quick bite or staying a while. Everything I have tried has been fresh and really good. You can also tell that management cares about both their employees and their customers. When a place is run well it shows through the staff, the atmosphere, and the overall experience, and District Coffee absolutely delivers. I am new to Boise and this is one of the first places I recommend when someone asks where to get great coffee or find a comfortable place to spend some time. I have been to the District a handful of times now and I'm in love with their chai. They seriously have the best chai here! Highly recommend! But, I really wanted to comment about how great the staff has been. After recently getting my new kidney, I have to be so careful about germs. And unfortunately, I can't use the straws and lids that they have out for everyone. I have asked if they can kindly put a lid and straw in for me after they make my drink and a majority of the staff has! I have had a few not so friendly stares when I asked but the majority of the staff have been so kind. I appreciate the extra step and the longevity of my new kidney does too. The coffee I tried, cold brew was smooth and yummy. Soft top was a great touch & after looking at reviews was my reason for coming in. They have sip lids included at their self help station & serve your drink without lids. Paid 7.25 for my 12 oz coffee with vanilla & soft top. District Coffie house is one of my absolute favorite places to get coffee in downtown Boise. I feel like the barista is really care about how your drink is going to come out. It feels like they're made with love. They just freshly remodeled the space feels brand new during the summer. They have a lavender lemonade spritz that I absolutely adore. The District has a seasonal menu along with all of the coffee shop favorites, you're often find Boise State students studying or folks working on their laptops. Pricey for the size (see pic with hotel key for reference, prob 8oz?) and flat. First sip had good chocolate flavor but it just petered out. I'm used to more rich nitro, milky-smooth with out the milk type of drink, and well, nitro. Mine was very flat. Came to the District Coffee House on a cold wonder day and it was a nice place to keep cozy and relax for a few hours. I had the horchata mocha and the ham and cheese croissant for breakfast, both of which were delicious. Prices were comparable to Starbucks but quality was far better. The service was quick and friendly. I had my food and coffee out within 5 minutes. They and tables and couches, all of which were kept clean. They had indie music playing in the background which was on par with the coffeehouse vibes. It's can be a bit loud for some but I liked it. Highly recommend this cafe if you're in the Boise downtown area and need to kill some time. read more

On a positive note, the Matcha was really good. And so was the granola with yogurt. The Issue is this place is filthy. The bathroom, as was previously reviewed ,was disgusting! I was actually quite shocked. Staff did not seem organized at all. So I really didn't say anything about the bathrooms or the floors being gross because I didn't really think it would make a difference. If you're not afraid of contracting E. coli, Salmonella, or HPV, this place is for you--because the bathrooms alone are a survival challenge. Think months of marinated urine, a sprinkle of pubic hair, and a dash of mystery sludge. Paper towels? Toilet paper? Soap? Luxury items, apparently. Employees can't wash their hands, but hey, they can scroll Instagram while handling your food. As for the coffee, imagine battery acid with a hint of regret. I had to toss it after two sips in front of the idiotic barista who made it and she never questioned if I was satisfied with her brew. I walked out feeling both exhausted and in desperate need of a hazmat shower. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE! My photos won't upload so don't take my word for it...go see for yourself and bring the health inspector! Never mind, they've been warned and it clearly didn't phase them. District Coffee House was the first stop in Boise, ID. I ordered a matcha latte (not many coffeehouse has it, most only have chai) and a breakfast burrito. My husband went with the regular coffee. The girls working at the counter were friendly and chatted while they worked. It wasn't too crowded at 9am on a Sunday but there were folks on their computers, with their kids, groups, and couples, all enjoying their breakfast. I shared the burrito with my hubby and the latte filled me up. It filled me up so good that I wasn't hungry til close to late, late afternoon around 4pm.
