I would title this one Kitchen Nightmares. Please help Gordon Ramsey! We've been there twice now and both times the experience was bad. First time was about ten months ago. My wife got the Chicken with lemon and capers. It was way overcooked, she sent it back and it came back exactly the same, but the manager did bring her a shrimp pasta dish instead. Ok, it happens they were nice well give them another shot. Second time was really annoying...young girl that sat us didn't give us menus. When waiter gave us water he didn't bring menus and we told him, we're starving. After waiting about five minutes, I got up and took menus off another table. After the waiter took the order from the group next to us he took our drink order. Again I'm forced to get up before we get our drinks because he's chatting with another employee and ask if we can order our food again telling him we are starving. He gave us some bread, but the food came out in a strange order. First the pizza (we never got our fried zucchini app) then our side salads over flowing with dressing, then our wife's meals. Our wife's were just watching us eat our pizza, because it would have got cold if we waited for them. It took 45 mins to get our food from when we ordered. Then I hear from the group next to us (they got there before us) tell the waiter we can't wait anymore can you just box up our food? The restaurant was only about half full, there shouldn't be this issue. We had a lot of time to look around waiting for our food, I noticed paint chipping all over, a lot of dust, some lights were missing their glass covers and the ones that did were covered with fingerprints. Just not the level of cleanliness would expect for a place that serves food. Shut the restaurant down for one day and clean and do some maintenance. The food is just ok, it's definitely not worth the wait. It seems like the Chef needs to get his stuff together. We wanted to love this place . I'll start on a positive. Super cute date night vibe. Super cute and romantic ambiance. Love the aesthetics. The deep fried zucchini was tasty. Now to what was less than desirable: The lasagna entry "barely had any sauce" with it so it was almost dry. Normally lasagna you have the sauce and dip your bread or focaccia. Which Segways into: The focaccia seemed "day old and dry" almost crunchy. It should be warm and fresh at an Italian restaurant. My chicken piccata was pink. I didn't realize how pink the chicken was until I looked at my leftovers the next day. I threw it out to make sure I didn't get sick. Not sure if they have new kitchen staff or chef but someone is on a learning curve it seems. We were disappointed because we probably won't be back now and it is located in an adorable spot. Ti Ami has taken a nose dive in the past year. We used to LOVE eating here and getting takeout, but I don't think we're ever going to eat here again. They had my favorite Cesar salad ever; the dressing was absolutely to die for. I ordered it tonight for the first time in a few months and it was inedible. Old, soggy lettuce, that tasted rotten and dressing with zero flavor. The croutons were the only saving grace. My husband got the spaghetti bolognese and was equally as disappointed. I wanted some Italian being from the North East. Chicken parm was on my mind hard. Upon arriving there the staff were great. They were super friendly and welcoming. I also ordered the olive tapenade. The smell and taste of fish were overwhelming. I had one bite and threw it away. The chicken parm, hard pass on that. The chicken wasn't crisp, I did get it to go, but I live 5 minutes from there. From the moment I opened the door I knew the food was going to be amazing. To keep the review short I'll get straight to the point, everything was spot on, from the chicken , to the fries, to the sauce, and the recommendations, the execution was second to none. Now to elaborate a little bit more, upon walking in you get hit was a splendid aroma of Italian spices and fresh dough, I knew we were going to the right spot. My buddy and I quickly made our way to the bar eager for a drink and some good food. Brandon greeted us and immediately got down to business telling us about their Italian spin on the classic burger as well as a customer favorite chicken saltimbocca (a seasonal special). Boy was Brandon spot on. The burger was one of my favorites in all of Boise. It's not your average burger, it's jam packed with flavor and spice. I am not entirely sure of what they put on it but it reminds me of a pepper Italian salsa, the flavors combined very well with the meat. The fries are thick cut and remind me of a combination between a thick fry and a potato chip, it's probably my favorite cut I've ever tried. Great potato to crust ratio and just the right crunch to them. As for the chicken saltimbocca that was a first for me, and after that first impression I will be going back this week to have it again! The cheese, mash potato, and chicken combination was splendid. The mash potatoes were rich and thick!! There wasn't a single bite left behind on either plate. Not only was the food splendid but the atmosphere created by both the bartender Kayla and other employees like Brandon was second to none. Everyone sitting at the bar that night became friends and the laughter we all shared added to a wonderful day. The service is great. The food is just OK. I've had two dishes there. I wasn't impressed the first time, but I gave it a try again. The first time I got the chicken lemon cello flatbread. All the ingredients were toward the middle. It did not have a lot of flavor and the crust was very strange and powdery. Today I had the vodka pasta and that was fairly good. I had a side of the truffle ricotta, and that did not have much flavor. Hoping that they make a few improvements to this restaurant. To Amo never disappoints. I've visited Ti Amo several times in past year with a fairly sized social group and each time the service was great. The servers and managers were checking in, taking orders, delivering orders and truly trying to make sure everyone was getting what they needed. After trying two pasta dishes, I would say the focaccia on the side ended up being our favorite part. Lovely presentation, but the marinara seemed to miss the mark for us. Our sauce was fairly bland and reminded us of the kind you would get out of a jar at the grocery store. After working in an Italian restaurant (in a past life), I will say this place has a great venue, but I think the Olive Garden would win when it came to our pollo parmagiana. I don't really give five stars that easily especially not to an Italian restaurant but I'm definitely giving one today! First I'll start with the location. Always a treat to go to Bown Crossing because for some odd reason it makes me feel like I'm on vacation outside of Boise. It's a small little getaway right outside Boise State University and it's open and Airy and quiet. Much quieter than downtown Boise these days!! Ti Amo also has an outdoor patio and when the weather is gorgeous outside there's nothing like sitting outside to eat and I was lucky enough that day to have outstanding weather! The one thing that stood out the absolute most to me, was the service. First and foremost my waiter greeted me immediately with a smile, and knelt down near my table to create a relationship right off the bat! He was knowledgeable of the food, very friendly, had a bubbly personality and answered all of my questions and then some. Forgive me as I don't remember his name but I'm pretty sure it began with a "B". He was smart engaging, professional, funny and very attentive without being overbearing. I ordered the crispy zucchini with Shaved Parmesan and it was served with a spicy Aioli of sorts and marinara sauce. I am a New Englander and I'm Italian and I have to say that was some of the best fried zucchini I've ever had in my life!!! It was a very generous portion and I ended up taking some to go because I couldn't finish it all nor would I dare,;-)!!! I also ordered a gorgeous cocktail made from cucumber, lemon, gin and some other amazing items that I can't remember right now! But it was delicious! I was torn between ordering the tortellini with prosciutto and peas as I love that combination and the spicy shrimp and mushroom stuffed gnocchi, and decided on the ladder. I guess I'll have to go back and try the other dish ASAP! I make it at home but with olive oil and garlic and white wine so I'm curious to try the creamy version of it. The shrimp were huge and there were like six of them I think, and the gnocchi we're round which I imagine lended well to the stuffing them. In all my years of eating and cooking Italian cuisine, I've never seen them stuffed before but they were good and they weren't super heavy like a lot of potato gnocchi can be. There were similar to the ricotta version that I actually make at home. Like little fluffy pillows. The marinara sauce was very very good, not too sweet or acidic and had a good texture as well. The absolute only thing I would say is that the red hot chili flakes were a plenty and they kind of messed with the texture of the sauce. Usually when I create a marinara sauce I put them in while the sauce is cooking and it becomes soft and I only put a small amount and there was a lot in the dish which made it nice and spicy which was great, but just kept bighting into something hard and then I realized that's what it was! Other than that the dish was beautiful it came out with a very large sprig of Basil which maybe was a bit unnecessary but it was impactful visually. I just broke it up and spread it around the dish and it was perfectly fine. It is my birthday week so I decided to splurge and get myself a shot of espresso and some homemade tiramisu which I was treated by the waiter with. I think that the flavor profile for this dessert was very good and on point but the only thing I thought was that the mascarpone was a little bit heavy and not as light and fluffy as some of the more custard reversions I have eaten in the past, but it was very delicious. The flavors were amazing! All in all I was absolutely impressed that I could get Italian food this good in Boise if I'm being transparent. I've lived here for 11 years but like I said I grew up eating and making Italian and I'm writing a cookbook right now as well, so I think I'm a pretty good judge! I give them five stars all around because they delivered the food the portions were great, the place was spotless clean and stylish and their weight staff was absolutely impeccable!!! Tried Ti Amo on New Year's Eve. We were able to get a little earlier reservation which was nice. First the good - we were seated quickly - although they put us by the door and it was quite cold so we were able to move to a table further inside the restaurant. Service was very good and prompt, food came out quickly. We really liked the fact there's a 50% off happy hour until 5:30pm and the pizzas were $15 on Tuesdays! Our drinks were very good, and they have a great selection of cocktails and beers. Had the Baked Goat Cheese as an app, very tasty. Also the wedge salad was great, and they split one for us which was good as the split portion was still quite large. The Tiramisu for dessert was also very good. As for the not so good, I would say the pizza was good but not great. A little too over crisped for our tastes, we were expecting a more Napolese style which these aren't. I wouldn't have pizza if I go back, I would probably go with some pasta and give that a try. read more

North East Italian woman on a quest to find my go to Italian spot in Boise, and the quest continues. Atmosphere, service, wine list, breads were great. My husband's chicken gorganzola special was a home run flavor explosion. My interest was peaked with the stuffed gnocchi. Couldn't taste the stuffing and the marinara lacked flavor. Since the menu offers simple, classic dishes, a Nonna may be needed to upgrade that red sauce. Cannoli were great too but the shell was a little dense. No harm though, it's hard to master and easy to over fry when small. I'm still waiting for "italian resturants" to grasp putting Caprese on the antipasti menu. Overall not bad. A good place to dine, just not my got to pasta joint when I need a taste of home. read more

My friends and I had dinner at Ti Amo the other night. We sat out on the patio, where a gentleman was playing beautifully soft music. Our meals came and everyone's food was delicious except my chicken was dry and overcooked. They were unable to deliver a properly cooked chicken so to compensate they prepared me another dish. It was a shrimp dish and it was cooked perfectly and so delicious. I am pleased that this establishment does not stop until the customer is happy. Not only did they provide me with a new dish, but they comped both entrées. It's nice to see that there are companies who go the extra mile and take pride in what they make. read more

Outstanding restaurant! The food was delicious. We started off with a Lampone Limone. Not only was it beautifully presented, but it was delicious. Topped off with a Limoncello froth, it was the perfect summer drink. Then we had the garlic bread with truffle, basil, ricotta, whipped cheese, Caesar salad, and the tortellini with prosciutto. I highly recommend each of these dishes. Brinley F, our server, was delightful and very professional. The ambience of the restaurant was very nice. Live music was out on the patio which added to the charm. A classic movie was shown on the TV screen inside the restaurant. There were also fabulous, black and white posters of Italian actors and actresses from the past. We had reservations for dinner to celebrate my 50th birthday, which I noted when booking. This was a very meaningful night for us because it will likely be the last birthday I get to spend with my dad, who is in hospice. When we arrived, the server asked two nearby tables if they were celebrating anything, but never asked us. Despite mentioning twice during the meal that it was my birthday, it was never acknowledged. This was disappointing because a small gesture could have made the evening feel special given the circumstances. On top of that, my mom's chicken was so tough she had to pass it across the table for me to cut for her. For example, we ordered the "roasted cauliflower" appetizer but it wasn't roasted. It was battered and fried. Very tasty but not what we expected. Also, the price for that dish was printed incorrectly but at least the price was less than what was printed. Very minor critique but no one likes getting a dish that doesn't match the description. Our daughter graduated from Boise State over the weekend and we had a dinner here after for about 25 people. The food, venue, and most importantly the service was a 10/10. Bryce (manager) is amazing at what he does. We were in constant communication with him prior to get the menu set up and he made sure to have the pizzas and appetizers ready to serve when we arrived. The flavor was good, but the pasta was soggy and overcooked. I was surprised that the server didn't come by and check on us after the food was dropped, he never asked how anything was. The manager was there, he greeted us when we walked in, not very friendly, and never came over and welcomed us or asked how anything was.
