We frequent this location and like to try different items from the menu. Normally, what we try is surprisingly very good. Unfortunately, this time - it wasn't... no big deal... that's the whole point... everyone has a different taste. Tonight however - it was the snobbish- uncalled for and surprising poor attitude by one of the baristas that left us with a sour taste. And we are even more surprised because this person is usually very professional, and pleasant. When I expressed that the drink ordered didn't taste as expected - he (the barista) seemed peeved and bothered at my not liking the drink (as I mentioned b4, not all drinks are for everyone)... but what I found most distasteful, inappropriate and not of "Starbucks' Customers standards is that not only was he displeased to have to remake my beverage- he started speaking about me to OTHER CUSTOMERS in the store!!! WOW really Marcus!? As I sit in my car now, sipping on this very expensive "chocolate milk mixture" he put together that I paid for... he stands inside pointing at my car as he comments to a co-worker and the remaining customer... mind you, I voiced my distaste for the drink quietly, humbly as so as not to bring attention... However, this baristas' uncalled-for broadcasting of the situation is highly more distasteful than the drink was! Thank you Marcus, but that was unnecessary and unprofessional. The girls who work here are super nice and they are fast and can help you make a decision if you are having trouble making your order. I go here to study for 3 to 6 hours and the staff is very friendly, it's always clean, they drinks are well made, the WiFi is excellent, and they always greet you upon entering. I would recommend it for studying, getting a quick drink, or just hanging out. Perhaps my only complaint is that it's kinda cramped inside. read more

This is my go-to Starbucks location and the closest one in the Clayton/Garner area. I love to come here to get work done, meet up with friends, or drop by for my quick fix for a drink. PROS: GREAT staff. They're super friendly and very willing to help. I've never had a bad staff experience here. Drinks are always made well, and they change up the interior every now and then to make it more dynamic. DRIVE THRU. 'Bucks on the go, need I say more? They also have a lovely outdoor seating section, which is great with good weather. CONS: Flies. This is the ONLY thing I don't like about this Starbucks. It's annoying to have to keep swatting away flies every 10 minutes when you're trying to work. Other than all of that, it's a generally great Starbucks location! read more

Very loud music! Had to go there for a couple of days in a row to use their wifi while waiting for our internet to be installed. They were blasting their rock music both inside and out on the patio, that made it impossible to concentrate or make any phone calls. I understand they use the technique to stop people from camping at the store all day during peak hours. But except for one or two customers that came in, the place was practically empty. Free wifi, outdoor seats and a drive thru. Sometimes there is a wait, especially if you come during peak hours, but the service is consistently great and the drink taste good for Starbucks. Convenient location right off highway 70, with the consistency you've come to expect from Starbucks all around the world. I've been multiple times during different times of the day, and the service has always been satisfactory. There is a nice patio in the parking lot out front, and all of the interior seating is clustered at the front of the store, with the exception of a sole, two-person table back near the bathrooms. I like to set-up here to get work done without overhearing nearby conversations. Speaking of bathrooms, the men's room is one of the cleaner ones I've ever visited at a Starbucks, so that's a nice plus. Oh, and there's a drive-thru! Critical for those making the daily Raleigh-Clayton hustle. Overall, solid four stars. Nothing to write home about, but it's a dependable cup of coffee and nice atmosphere in a small-town not known for it's upscale coffee offerings. read more

Probably the nicest Starbucks staff I've encountered, and the most diverse. I'm really not a huge fan of Starbucks coffee, although you can count on it on being consistent. However, the La Boulange offerings are great if you're tired of eating fast food. The cheese danish is both cheezy and yeasty, and umm...umm...good. This Starbucks gets 5* for the staff, and 3.5 for the food and beverage. The chain as a whole is 3* for me. But this location earns its 4* every time I make my presence known. read more

Their dry cappuccinos are excellent, they're usually all I ever drink. I can say I have had very minimal negative things happen before, and they do not seem to care when it has been wrong. For instance, I ordered a grande ristretto French vanilla dry cappuccino. Went through drive through, waited 5 minutes, got my drink, and it was not French Vanilla. Went back through the drive through and kindly told them it wasn't FV, they remade it, but then it wasn't ristretto OR dry. At that point I gave up. Another time, I walked in 10min before closing and everyone was very rude. I got a venti sweet tea, and it was horrible. read more

I come to this Starbucks every morning, they all know my name and drink & always greet me as soon as I walk in. I love the people that work here, and I love the manager Kelsey. They're all so great, and so sweet & fun to talk to. I never have to tell them my drink because they make it as soon as they see me pull up. The two days a week (sometimes) that I go to a closer Starbucks to my house (White Oak) I am ALWAYS disappointed and would rather drive the extra ten minutes to come to this one where they treat me like family and get my drink right every time. This seems like a typical Starbucks to me, though it is on the small side inside (there is also a large outdoor seating area). Even most of the indoors seating is standard chairs and tables. There are two armchairs that aren't very comfortable and one sofa that is. It's not been overly crowded any time I've dropped by, and there is a drive through if you're so inclined. The coffee is the okay Starbucks standard. I don't think it's nearly as flavorful as some of the better coffee houses in the Raleigh area, but it's a nice place for a break in Clayton. The workers are nice here but the location is horribly managed. They literally run out of everything every single day. If you want a bagel or a panini don't even bother asking I think they have 1 in stock every day and only the first customer gets it. No cookies, no muffins, no breakfast items.
