Haven't been to this location before, but I got one of the new shaken hazelnut espressos and it came out looking like it was mostly a cream. When sipping it it doesn't even taste like there is coffee in it, much less espresso. And admittedly this is a small thing, but there was sticky caramel all over one of the sides of the cup and I sat waiting for them to come back to the window so I could ask for a napkin but they never did. I am extremely upset about my experience at the Starbucks in downtown Elizabeth City. At around 7 PM, my husband ordered a decaffeinated coffee refill for me because I cannot have caffeine. It causes severe acid reflux and significant stomach problems. He asked the barista twice to confirm that the coffee was decaf, and she said yes both times. I am aware that many Starbucks stores don't keep brewed decaf available in the evening, and no alternative such as an Americano or pour-over was offered. We relied completely on the employee's assurance. After drinking the coffee, I had nonstop burping, painful bloating, and I did not sleep all night. This is the exact reaction I have when I am given regular coffee. When someone clearly explains a medical sensitivity and double-checks the order, there is no room for mistakes. Serving the wrong product in this situation is not a minor inconvenience -- it directly affects a customer's health and well-being. Starbucks needs to take this more seriously. Better training and more care are necessary so this does not happen to someone else. read more

Had the worst Starbucks experience ever in my life. Pulled up to the drive-through and waited there and waited there only to have her come on and go. Did you still need to order, no I'm just sitting in your drive-through because I enjoy holding up a line like Why would you ask me that I gave her my order and she said you can pull around please no thank you no absolutely no name for my order. No nothing just you can pull around. I pulled around for the money no thank you no nothing. here's how much it is. Here's your drink. No have a nice day nolike they need to do some serious looking at this location because last time I was in there it was nasty and they were out of the first two drinks. Waited 15 minutes inside while all of drive thru was helped and I waited and waited. When I get to the vehicle my wife says they got her drink wrong which I read them exactly what she wanted from my phone. I had to go back inside. They were very apologetic and made it right away. I highly recommend going to the drive thru because it seemed to move much faster. Only reason for the 4 star is they didn't have straws. Very hard to drink a frap with no straw. Honestly probably wouldn't have gotten my wife's drink wrong if she wasn't keto and asked for no sugar and lord knows what else. I highly recommend the turkey pesto sandwich. As a former partner, I have to say I was highly impressed with this store! My wife did a mobile order of over 7 items during peak as we were making an eight hour road trip. The morning team on 19 July were BREEZING through peak as though it was nothing! I walked in a few mins after we had ordered just to get some pup cups for our dogs and our drinks were already made. I was super impressed, and their friendliness just made everything better. Instantly was greeted when I walked in, and you could tell they had an awesome rhythm going. Drive thru orders we're moving out fast, and they made a connection with every customer drive thru or cafe. For the first time in a long time, I saw things at this store that I sadly thought Starbucks had forgotten. But not this store! They had their green apron board out and you could tell how much they appreciated one another. This store donates their leftover food to the less fortunate (not many stores do this at all), and they even had a grounds garden outside! I wish I could have gotten the shifts name, but this team ran so well any of them could have been leading. This store restored my faith in what Starbucks is really about, and as a partner who left with a bad taste in their mouth from poor experiences- thank you for reminding me why I loved being a partner. read more

Well. This morning I stopped to pick up my mobile order. Pulled up in the drive thru and let them know my name and I had a mobile order. Sure just pull around she said. One truck ahead of me, 5 min later I pull up to the window For my egg bites and mango dragoon fruit drink. She hands me the egg bites and a cup with a clear liquid in it. If you've had that drink before you know that it's not suppose to be clear. So I question it and was told they were out of the dragoon fruit. It will taste the same she said!!! I just shook my head and drove off. Doesn't taste the same‍. I know it's hard to find help and get product but if you are out of the main ingredient in the name of the drink don't serve it!! read more

It may be novel, but I go to Starbucks for coffee, not shake like drinks or to socialize. This location is routinely out of Italian Roast, what I would have thought was a staple. Unfortunately, it is the only Starbucks within 30 miles. Promotions are great but not very effective if you can't find product. This starbucks location cannot handle their work load, there were SO many people waiting & I stopped here while traveling and expected a decent & timely visit. I ordered over 20 minutes ago & STILL have not received even 1 of the 2 simple drinks I ordered. Will not be coming to this starbucks again. The management at this store compared to other Starbucks is ridiculous, I worked as a manager for 5 years and i can tell when a place is understaffed on some days and overstaffed on other days/times. I also noticed as the store was going through a huge rush (understaffed of course) there was someone sitting in the lobby laughing on her phone with a laptop open! I asked the person working the register and they said that was their manager and that brought things full circle. If i wasn't already employed as a restaurant manager i would apply here just to fix the daily atrocities that i have noticed over the past few weeks. I am sorry to anyone working here. read more

Glad to finally have a Starbucks around here! Service is always good and I really love how professional and nice as well as upbeat the employees are! Everyone is always really polite. I agree with another reviewer here that this location is incredibly inconvenient. You have to deal with Walmart traffic/parking lot just to get in there and that's really a pain. read more

Today was the fifth time I've come to the location and my drink was made wrong...: I asked for almond milk, didn't get it, I asked for 2 shots of blonde expresso, didn't get that either, I also asked for my frappe to be thick so I needed extra ice, it was like ice coffee with large chunks of ice, I asked them not to add whip cream, I got it anyway .........if I'm spending $9 for a drink my drink should be right without the cashier wanting to go back and forth with me about why my Carmel ribbon crunch Frappuccino isn't thick after I stated I wanted it thick.... My only issue is that the bathroom as air hand dryers, but then you have to open door....there are people that don't wash their hands, so that means employees could contaminate their clean hands when exiting the restroom. Not well thought out by Starbucks management. read more

The service at this Starbucks was some of the worst service I have ever received. They were blatantly rude to us our entire time there, slamming the drive through window on us. They were very slow, and messed up every single drink, after they made us repeat several times what we wanted. We were traveling from NC to Maryland and thought we'd stop in for coffee. We decided to go inside and order. To our luck, nobody was in line. We ordered and had to wait 20 min for our drink. Really? I didn't really listen to the reviews because I thought maybe it was just a one time thing and they were busy. We literally were the only people in line. The slowest Starbucks on the planet. Make sure you save at least 30 minutes of whatever time you have to get your coffee from this location. I've complained to corporate twice because of drinks that weren't made right and even talked to the store manager about how disappointed I was with the drinks. I'm guessing she told the baristas to slow down A LOT. The drinks are fine now, not as good as the Kitty hawk location, but the wait to get your drink is ridiculous. I rarely go anymore and just go to Dunkin' Donuts if muddy waters isn't open. I give this location 3 stars only because they are still friendly no matter how busy they are but they have no sense of urgency. They take one order at a time in the drive thru and I have seen them not prepped for the day at 7 in the morning even though they open at 5. I know it's hard to find decent employees in this town but it seems like it's just getting worse. Too bad farm fresh isn't open anymore because that was one of the best Starbucks I had ever been to. They should've hired most of those employees but unfortunately they didn't. read more
