I only gave this place two stars because it was once a good location. When you walk in: the floor, counters, and displays are disgusting. I understand that staffing is an issue but there were FOUR TEENAGERS working. Not one of them doing a damn thing ( first cuss on a Yelp review!). Second, I asked for an extra shot and the drink already offered two. This drink tasted like a milkshake l, not one ounce of coffee. Thank God I was able to stay awake while driving. This location needs a surprise health assessment and MORE TRAINING! It's a disgrace. PS. there were three other low rankling reviews the same day as this one!! Gross. I love Starbucks. But this location needs help. I asked for an iced coffee and for some reason she rang up an iced latte. When I told the barista I ordered an iced latte, she gave us terrible attitude. Moreover, and worse, there was mold all over the display food items in their case. Please see the attached photos. I think I made this statement already once in another review today .... I'm not a coffee person!!! But, that being said Starbucks has a pretty good assortment of other drink and snack items and this location is no different. Looking for a cold beverage this time I couldn't resist trying the Dragon Drink. A tropical-inspired pick-me-up .... crafted to order with a refreshing combination of sweet mango and dragonfruit flavors. Only way to prepare this masterpiece is by handshaking (never stirred) with creamy coconutmilk, ice and a scoop of real diced dragonfruit. All in all it wasn't too bad. The dragonfruit flavor did come out through the coconutmilk, but not very intense. I'd give it about a 3.5 out of 5. The service at this location has always been good, and they can get busy as they are a part of a pretty busy Petro Stopping Center (gas staion). Store is clean and organized and we've been here several times so I can say they have also been consistent. We'd come back again. read more

First thing, when I walked in the place was disgusting. They might as well have smeared poop on the counters because the sanitation level would've been about the same. I couldn't stand it and asked for something to wipe the counter. The staff was highly uneducated about what they were doing. They must've had some sort of learning disability to be that incompetent. An iced americano had no ice. I was told it melted and offered a cup of ice. A Carmel iced coffee, the most basic of drinks, is what I ordered. I got a cup of milk with caramel syrup floating in it. I complained and was told that it had coffee in it. I was offered an extra shot but you couldn't tell any difference. Furthermore they were telling people that the card reader was down and they could only take cash. People were walking out. Absolutely horrendous. My girlfriend was in there today and the handed her the bag with her egg bites in them upside down and as she was handing them to her they fell on the floor and the lady just walks away and didn't offer anymore nor did she offer to help her clean it up as it was clearly the servers fault. Don't mean to be a hater, but this location has had issues for a while. Most recent visit: Americana not prepared properly- you could literally see the bottom of the cup, the only flavor was the SF vanilla I had them add. Store is poorly stocked- no holiday items like I saw in other area SBs. Maybe they are shutting down? Could not use SB gift cards, evident like they have updated their payment system and are no longer in communication with the mother ship. Non- professional attitude- 2 out of the three employees to be specific. Not sure what one employees job was, but the cashier ( note I did not use the term Barista to describe employees) was making pointless remarks and did not know how to properly take a drink order per SB protocol. I will be surprised if this location is open when I pass through again. Definitely won't stop in, though. Been there and done that too many times with poor quality drinks and/ or service. I have not posted a review until now, but it is definitely way way over-due! The employees and service at this location really has improved tremendously over the last year. I never leave disappointed or in a happier mood. Somehow, someone here, always knows how to either make me laugh, smile, or just feel happy to be there...... Savannah, Chuck, Tatiana(*sp*??), Maddie J, Diamond, Amber, and Eric are just some of the ones that know me, my picky/quirky orders and requests......I am always looking to try the newest drinks offered by the Starbucks app and they strive to make it the best possible. I do not know what all the bad reviews are for...perhaps it is because there is no drive thru? Because personally, my visit gets better each time!!! Perhaps I hold Starbucks to a higher standard because of my past experiences with them in so many states but this one didn't live up to my expectations. Just a couple reasons that are my hotspots with really any business: 1) Service - not the friendliest or what you would expect from Starbucks - not the typical experience like a smile... (maybe I'm expecting too much - but a friendly hello or thank you would have been nice). 2) Selection - limited selection for breakfast sandwichches (by the way if you say you don't have any available - it might be nice to say - sorry we don't have any available at this time versus we don't have any). 3) Don't honor Starbucks reward drinks - I was going to put this as a tip but thought it would be easier to incorporate it here - yes they are a franchise and not an actual corporate Starbucks store - there is a difference - one of which may not be within their control but I sure wish there was a way to verify a corporate store versus a franchise. (Did I mention when I tried to use the reward to pay for the drink - I would have really like have experienced a kind sorry we can't accept or don't accept reward drinks at this location - versus - you can't pay with that?) 4) Cleanliness - not sure if it's because this location is attached to a gas station - but it wasn't the cleanest - from trash near the cream/sugar - to just an appearance that no one had cared to walked through to straighten anything out or pick up trash (napkins) around tables... 5) Quality of food/beverage - soy latte - extra shot of espresso, grande in a venti with extra whip cream - it's my regular order for years so I have a rather finetune palate when it comes to this particular beverage - it wasn't the same - not as robust and just flat - that's the only way I can describe it. Overall - if you're in a pinch - yes - go here for a standard cup of coffee - lower your Starbucks standards - you might not get a smile, hello or your name on a cup, a thank you, it might not be the cleanest, you will have to go to the gas station for the rest room - you can't redeem your Starbucks reward beverage/food - and your drink might taste a little different- but yes - in a pinch - a cup of standar starbucks in the cool starbucks cups will serve that purpose. read more

This was my very first visit to Starbucks in my life, and it wasn't too bad! I went inside and the smell of coffee was so lovely, as expected. I was greeted by a young woman and she was ready to take my unique request. I've been told by friends of the "secret menu" of Starbucks on various websites, listing ingredients to intimate flavors such as cereals. I decided to order the flavor combination imitating the Cap'n Crunch cereal. My order was completed in about 2 minutes, and the drink wasn't all that bad! It didn't taste 100% like the cereal but the flavor itself was enjoyable. I had to tell her to leave out the hazelnut flavoring due to my allergy of it. The drink was fruity and had little bits of fruit in it which usually throws me off, but the flavor itself made up for it. As my drink was being made, they were nice enough to give me a marker to write my name on the "We Love Our Customers" board. After writing my name, I got my drink and headed out. The entire visit was quick, but satisfactory. I was also satisfied with the cleanliness and environment of the store. I don't think I'll be coming here all the time, but I will be coming back at some point. I'm glad I stopped by! read more

First of all, let me note that I rarely write a negative review. However, after multiple encounters with this Starbucks location, they have indeed earned it. As a major Starbucks fan, I was super excited to hear that Starbucks was finally coming to Gadsden. But after MANY unsatisfactory experiences with this particular location, I've decided not to go back. While I agree with the other reviewers that the service here is less friendly than other locations and the store is less than clean at times, my main issue is the abysmal quality of their beverages. When the shop and staff were new, the watery/burned taste to my regular drink was a no big deal. I was certain it was just the kinks being worked out of the new shop. Unfortunately, that's proved not to be the case with this location. I'm really not sure how they manage it, but the quality and taste of my coffee is consistently BAD. It's not like I'm ordering something incredibly complex either; my usual is a grandé caffé latte. I have ordered other drinks from them as well and had the same god awful experience, so my experience is not just limited to the one drink type. Bottom line: I have been a Starbucks customer for 16 years. I have patronized their coffee shops in 7 countries spanning 3 continents including hundreds of locations here in the U.S., and never have I come across a shop that is as consistently poor as this one. To the franchise owners: My hope is that you see this poor review and others like it and listen to your customers. I'm not sure what's wrong here... maybe the baristas need more training or maybe it's a quality control issue. Heck, maybe you could even do a series of mystery shops to help get a better idea of what the issues are. All I know is something needs to change. Also, if you are monitoring the shop reviews (as you should be) it can provide you with a great opportunity for service recovery for less than happy customers. This shop could be really great. I hope you can enact the necessary changes to make it so, because Gadsden really does deserve to have a great Starbucks. read more

My drink didn't taste as it usually does. As I watched them make it, I didn't see exactly where they went wrong but the color was off so I would say they didn't put enough pumps of something. Terrible customer service from all employees and even team leads. Me and my husband seen 5 employees 3 of which walk to the back to leave the other 2 employees working. We heard loud screams coming from the back and everyone in the lobby could hear. The employees do not care and apparently the manager doesn't care that the employees do not care about customer service. I have NEVER seen an AGM or GM on the floor with these employees. They DO NOT use credit card chip technology. They are a franchise. That being said, my latte was good as was my Raison oatmeal cookie. The bathrooms are through the hallway in the convience store. It's a truck stop, but they were clean. Unlike franchises at Target, this franchise had a Starbucks cookie warmer. Staff was very nice. read more
