Nervous to see if they had any sugar free options, we were delighted to find out that they have MANY! They were eager to help us make any of their drinks suitable to our needs. For the first time EVER, I was able to get a sugar free pumpkin spice iced latte. NOWHERE locally has ever been able to do that. THANK YOU! It was absolutely perfect. My partner had a cold brew with sugar free syrups and was just as delighted as me. Very friendly and smiley staff that made us feel welcome. Cannot wait to go back and try more! Perhaps the most covid friendly spot I've been in in a while... upon entry you take your temperature, it's exceptionally clean, staff is well masked, and the plastic shields are surrounding the counter. May I say, it's also the absolute coolest coffee shop interior I've been in, it's practically a post modern meets a dark, contemporary style. It's absolutely fabulous! I think this coffee shop is the perfect fit for the people of Akron. A space like this truly captures what the people need! Dining is available, and I would definitely take advantage of that. There are so many comfy spaces and areas all throughout. The two baristas at the counter were super awesome and made my time in the shop super marvelous. Beyond coffee, you can also get smoothies and sandwiches! The fun part is that majority of the drinks and snacks are named after people super special from the owners family. My challenges are the stocking of pastries and accompaying items wasn't the best, possibly when I happened to come in, with several things out of stock. Additionally, order management seemed a bit haphazard with my order getting lumped in with multiple others and not being produced in order of customers ordering. Bottom line, I think Heartwood is a good coffee shop overall, but doesn't have the stocking or efficiency of a coffee shop I would rate in top shops.
