The drive through is a nice convenience of this one although there is only enough room for three cars and any more cars in line block the entire entrance into the parking lot. They claim to offer coffee grounds for the garden, but I have been in dozens of times and the can for the grounds is always empty. read more

If something is absolutely amazing or the worst ever I'll take time to write a review, to either direct others towards, or warn them away, from an establishment. This is literally the WORST Starbucks I have ever been to in my life. The bathroom was filthy, worse than the worst gas station. We ordered a blended strawberry lemonade, a cup of coffee w/cream, a side of ice, and a bacon gouda sandwich. We received the blended drink and a side of ice. After standing at the pick-up counter for several more minutes, watching 3 disorganized baristas walking around doing I'm not sure what, they finally realized, after asking us if we were waiting for something, that we were in fact waiting for additional items, and placed the sandwich in the oven. When i asked about the coffee, the next thing they noticed was that none was available/ready, and we then waited even longer for them to brew coffee. At least it was fresh, but overall, very disorganized, unprofessional, and dirty. read more

It's so hard to find a Starbucks drive thru and this one is unfortunately 20 min away from where I live and in the opposite direction of where I normally travel. Whenever I go here, I get service that's on point and service that could've been better. I mean it is Starbucks right? So the drinks are the same everywhere...not necessarily. Some places make your coffee just right and some well not so good. Like any establishment I go to, it's all about customer service. I treat the Baristas and everyone I encounter with respect but when you give me a sh*tty attitude then I give it right back. The absolute worst! I'm positive all the employees were trained by the same staff member because no one in there can make a drink to save a life! Definitely a subpar experience. I came to this location on Sunday May 14th and when I arrived there was no one in line. So I'm like cool I should be in and out I don't add anything addition to what I get or change around anything so I should be good. So when I arrived there was one person working the drive thru and I guess one person taking the in store order but she had a head phone on so I guess she was doing both drive thru and in store orders. It took her a moment to realize that I was in line waiting on her to take my order but whatever when she did acknowledge me I place my normal order for a Hot Venti Caramel Macchiato. She did start on it right after my order but when she finished I guess she didn't put the lid on the hot beverage tight and it slipped out of her hand causing a big mess and coffee everywhere. Thank goodness I wasn't close because I could have gotten burn or the splash could have gotten in my face. She did apologize and started to make me a new one while another person she called on started to assist her in cleanup. Once done with my new coffee everything was ok. When I got back to my car I tasted my drink and it was ok I have definitely had better at other locations. I would try this place again when I am back in the area. read more

Has the management of this Starbucks changed recently? For the past few months Starbucks in La Plata can't seem to get my orders right. About a month ago, we pulled up to the drive through, made our order, only to arrive at the window to not be greeted by a young man hanging partially out of the window, taking selfies of himself before acknowledging us as customers attempting to pay for our drinks. Fast forward one week later, we arrived at the drive through to pick up our order to not only hear the assistant consistently say a name that was not my own, but after giving us part of our order, we informed the assistant we were waiting for a sandwich, the assistant snappily told us "No, you do not have a sandwich and again attempted to say the name of someone we have never heard of. Another assistant handed him the bag, he then handed the bag to my husband. There was apology and no thank you from this young man. Just last week, a family member went into Starbucks to pick up berry blend drinks for the two of us and given drinks with no berries. After the family member suggested substituting the type of berries for another type of berry, the assistant worked to fix our order to satisfaction. Lastly, yesterday was a repeat of last weeks trip to Starbucks with a family member. We arrive at the drive through window to pick up our drinks, and waiting (with only one car ahead of us) With no warning or mention of yet again, not having all of the ingredients to make 2 drinks that cost more than $5.00 each, and informed "sorry we're out of berries" as the drinks are handed over to us, I was done. Not only did they not have berries in our drinks but the drinks weren't even the drinks we ordered. Our drinks were supposed to have berries and entirely different drinks. We ended up having to ask for a refund. This used to be our favorite Starbucks with a warm family atmosphere. We are so disappointed. Wondering if management has changed recently. read more

You can get great coffee/drinks here or terrible ones. Really depends who is making your drink. It is rarely consistent - same with service. Some extremely nice, competent employees & others are extremely rude & suck as baristas. I seriously never know what to expect. read more

I have been a Starbucks customer for over 10 years, ordering the mocha the same way each and every time I have ordered it, 190 degrees and no foam. I visit many locations, to include, LaPlata, California, Lusby and Waldorf. Tonight the customer service offered by Lauren at the LaPlata location was extremely poor and rude!! She tells me she isn't allowed to make drinks over 180 degrees. I expressed that I have always ordered my drink this way and she was the first to tell me different. She then stated she was told if she went over 180 she could get burned. There were a total of 3 employees behind the counter, one standing at drive thru, one picking up floor mats and then Lauren. I requested another employee assist me with my order and Lauren quickly told me NO, they are busy doing other things! I asked her for her name and told her I would not be ordering anything if I could not get what I order daily, sometimes more than once a day the way I always get my drink! read more

I commute everyday from DC to Dahlgren, VA and on those times I forget my coffee (not often) or finish coffee early and need another (more likely), the Starbucks in La Plata is the place. It is convenient on the corner of 301 at the light with a drive thru and outdoor seating. I like the layout of this Starbucks as it invites you to get a cup of coffee and then enjoy at a table or the corner seating. I have used this location with WiFi to catch up on email while enjoying a cup of coffee (and a refill). Having stopped enough, I now recognize a number of the employees. I will say they are polite enough, but in the morning one feels as if the drive thru gets more attention than the inside counter, and vice-versa in the afternoon. I have enjoyed a breakfast sandwich or two, and recommend them for a morning hunger. I for one, am glad this business is located where it is and support it when I need a coffee or working java. read more

I have been a long time patron of Starbucks but after my experience with one of your employees today I will no longer spend my money in one of your stores. Your drive thru lane is not marked as such, and as we were in the rear of the store loading a bed which we purchased at the mattress store next door, one of your employees came out the back door and yelled that we couldn't park where we were. As I said the pavement was not marked for your drive thru. She could have explained that we were blocking the drive thru, which in the FIVE minutes we were there no one came thru, but no she went back in the store to retrieve her phone and started taking pictures of the small trailer my friend was using to load the bed frame, I guess to intimidate us, then went back in and slammed the door.
