    Soft Serve Vanilla Cone
    A. C.

(3/10/2016) Driving northbound on a roadtrip and just wanted a little ice cream pick me up. Stopped in the DQ, it's a little hard to get into this particular strip mall and into the DQ parking lot, snail trailed it around a bit. Went it, no one in sight for a very long time. One odd guy grinned at me from the back from time to time, but did not offer any assistance. Finally, someone showed up, but said, "just a minute" and took off. This was around 8:00 pm on a weeknight. After our order was finally taken, things went just fine and we hit the road with our ice cream treats. DQ ice cream in general is soft serve, rather bland, but not offensive and not too sweet. Did fine for us. NOTE: weird young lady wandering the parking lot at night approaching cars and trying to sell "fragrances." I don't know what euphemism that's for around this here part of rural Maryland.

Chocolate shortage. Maybe they don't dip them all the way to the cone anymore. ?

Always a mess up with my order and it's the manager that messes it up. Too expensive, and slow. Too bad this Dairy Queen sucks so bad.

Business Manager responded with a bogus website for me to reference. NICE! That explains the service and people working there!

Every single time that I've gotten a Cookie dough blizzard, they never put cookie dough in the bottom. Only on the top!

I enjoyed DQ's $5 buck lunch cheeseburger meal with ice cream. I look forward to coming back!

Burgers tend to be microwaved, which turns into a soggy mess. Service is lacking, food is not good. Go here for ice cream.

I feel that generally Dairy Queen is a little overpriced, but it's very convenient to have a grill and chill that's also a drive-thru.

Going back for a second time, we…read moreboth ordered a half rack of baby back ribs, I asked for a side of mac & cheese and a baked sweet potato. When the food was delivered to our table extraordinarily quickly, we both noticed that our food was cold, as in as cold as being pulled out of the fridge, slathered with a little BBQ sauce and put on a plate. The only thing warm in my order was the baked sweet potato. Their version of "Texas Toast" was toasted white bread, not even Wonder Bread. No flavor to the cold white bread toast. Nothing special to write home about on this visit, which was disappointing, considering it was a Friday, usually one of the busiest times for most restaurants. This place was practically empty when we pulled into the lot. When we brought it to the attention of the staff, the young lady who was our server was busy helping every other table and not looking toward us. I got the attention of the manager and when he came over, I explained that everything (except the baked sweet potato) was cold. He took up both plates, apologized profusely and took the plates into the kitchen. This got the attention of our server and she asked what was wrong. When he explained to her that all of both plates were cold, she finally came over to talk to us and briefly explained they had a new person in the kitchen. I was thinking, if you have a new person in the kitchen, how bad is it when they can't understand that hot food needs to be cooked in order to be considered "hot"? The second plates they brought out were "warmer" than the previous ones but not by much. It was warm enough to eat and it still tasted good, the meat still fell off the bones and it was filling. The "Texas Toast" is NOT Texas Toast, no matter how you define it. In the end, when a restaurant makes a mistake like that, they usually compensate the patrons for their mistake. We were charged full price for our meal, which we paid without a problem, but this was NOT the "A Team" of this restaurant. Don't get me wrong, the food tasted good but the initial presentation wasn't on par with opur previous experience here. We will come back again, hoping they will perform as good as they did the first time we were there.

I think my visit to Hangry Joe's warrants 2.5 stars, but we'll round up to 3…read more I tried a chicken tender combo with fries; I did a dry rub breaded chicken with a couple of sauces on the side. The chicken wasn't nearly as crispy as I would have hoped and it's seasoning fell a little bit flat. The size of the tender was good though, which I appreciate. The sauces we got didn't compliment the tenders very well (maybe we got the wrong ones to go with the dry rub?) The waffle fries were the star of the show - crispy, hot, and exactly what you want out of waffle fries. And my goodness the toast left a lot to be desired; was hoping for much more than a plain piece of untoasted bread at the bottom of the combo box. If I return to Hangry Joe's, I would definitely try something different on the menu. The chicken tender combo I had left alot to be desired.

But I did not have a similar experience with this location in Waldorf. I shared a tender meal with some others one quiet Saturday evening. The tenders were flavored up nicely, but they came with dipping sauces that just really clashed with their dry rub. In my opinion, it should be an option of either or, not both. And the waffle fries had a sweetness to them that I was not expecting. They have waffle fries on their menu too, and it tasted like the batter got mixed up, which was weird. It was a savory, yet subtly sweet experience. And the toast was literally a slice of white bread that had some sauce dripping on it. It was not toasted, and really had nothing going for it. I guess the locations are definitely different in terms of quality, and I will just stick to the ones closer to me.
