Panic mode. Thankfully, this place saved the day with its warm and inviting ambiance. We grabbed coffees and croissants, and the owner was quick and efficient, getting us sorted in no time. Even at that ungodly hour, there were already two locals and a dog chatting with the patron--always a good sign of a neighborhood favorite. Can't complain at all. The barista was pretty rude. He said my friend (whose birthday it was) should pay for my drinks and was just generally rude and dismissive. He made us feel like we were doing something wrong when we were just waiting for our drinks. Huge damper on our experience and brutal way to start a birthday.

There was no option here, but another MTL bakery had that option. As opposed America where one size fits all --- XL always. Anyway, quite disappointing but tasted alright. I suppose it's hard to beat a cannoli from Boston's North End. The coffee was well made but wasn't worth the journey. Perhaps I just had such high hopes.
