Never had a negative experience here, staff are kind, helpful, and get things out quickly. There was one time where someone training put regular milk instead of oat milk and the manager immediately corrected it and I received the correct drinks :)! I go out of my way to go to this location--great study location inside due to the nice lighting combination (natural and indoor lighting), it's never too loud but there's white noise of other conversations. !! As a college student in the area, this is a place I find myself every once in a while. If you are craving some Starbucks while in the Mankato area, you have a few options: this location, inside Barnes and Noble and inside Hyvee. This location is the most convenient with the drive through, and also the best if you're looking for a place to make your office for a few hours. I do like that they have plenty of seating, including high-tops and a big 8-top table for groups. In the warmer months, it is great to grab a spot on their patio which is covered with large umbrellas. That being said, in the winter months, it is freeezing inside this store. I honestly would come and grab a drink and study here more often if I didn't need to be layered up. I understand this is hard to control with people coming and going, but somehow the caribou down the road stays warm... soooo.... The service is nice and fast at this location but sometimes the workers can be a bit to chatty and inappropriately loud. The atmosphere is okay, but a bit harsh and not super comfortable. read more

06/12/2020 - I went to Starbucks today after work to grab this new "Guava Passionfruit Drink" because apparently it was really good.. which it is. However, I did not mention anything about adding extra coconut milk, but quite honestly, I'm not too mad about it. It's good. But, unfortunately, after taking 3-4 more sips, I felt something in my mouth, which, while driving; startled me a little. There, I immediately spit out, what seems to be a tinfoil-like seal from a newly opened Guava syrup case!! It was a busy day for them, as it usually is - however no matter how busy it gets, please always check to see if you've gotten the seal off COMPLETELY! Terrible customer service, took at least 2 min to even be acknowledged at the register while the barista stood 6 feet away making a drink. Coffee tastes terrible, not like my usual Starbucks I go to everyday in my hometown. Ordered food, which came with a hair, no extra charge! As a former barista at a coffee chain, I am typically extremely understanding of hectic circumstances and unreasonable customers. HOWEVER, the baristas at this particular Starbucks have repeatedly been rude and unfriendly. Today, after knocking over/spilling a good portion of my drink, the barista said "whoops" and walked away. After grabbing a few napkins to clean up the spill since they didn't provide further service, I was informed that next time they could grab me napkins. Another barista pitched in "yes, because WE work here, and YOU do not." Honestly, understandable, but a rude response to me taking action in consideration to them being busy. Just went through Starbucks I'm a everyday customer always get the same thing... tonight a girl named jessi which I think was her name as her name tag was unreadable... anyways totally messed up and we ended up waiting for 10 mins to get our order and it's 956 at night so no it wasn't busy at all we had two easy drinks and she could not get them right!! Not impressed and then she preceded to tell me they don't carry blackberries when in fact I get them all the time there. I have visited a dozen or so times in 2017. Friendly enough, not usually crowded inside. Terrible parking lot and almost always a line at drive-thru. Pretty standard experience although the inside is not cozy at all. I've never had a bad experience like the reviews from 2015 talk about, which is what inspired me to write this review. For years I have been a daily customer at Starbucks, however, the new store that opened in Mankato, MN has completely killed my desire to ever enter another Starbucks. Between hearing an employee swearing the drive thru intercom before saying hello, regularly charging for substitutions as extra syrup, getting snipped at when I wouldn't take the drink they made when it wasn't what I ordered to tonight's absolutely blatenly rude barista. Something needs to be done about this store. It is one of the worst establishments in Mankato. I have LOVED Starbucks for years, but dealing with employees at this store is frankly just too much. I'm done. I'll stick with the one in Hy-Vee or go to Caribou (which I don't even like) before I come here again. Horrible, horrible staff. read more

Needs to work on staffing & customer service. Walked in & 4 staff members in the front didn't even greet me, smile, or even flinch (it was down time too). Then one nice guy came out from the back to greet me & take my order. The staff members would make this really loud squawk sound (like a pterodactyl). Ridiculous & obnoxious if you ask me. I work in the mall and have been going to this Starbucks for months. Most of the staff are very helpful and friendly. Although, there is one employee in particular (I believe his name his Alex) that never fails to ruin my experience. Every time he makes my drink I leave disappointed. If you're interested in receiving a dirty look, your drink made incorrectly, or just a straight up rude comment, he's your guy! read more

Our visit here Fri 9/4 gets 1 star. There were 5 employees running around and it seemed like a bother to take our order. C'mon people we come for the coffee but we rationalize paying so much for it at Starbucks because it comes with a dose of positive energy. We came back on Sunday to give them a second chance and Grace took our order. She gets 5 stars! Positive energy and the service we expect at a Starbucks. The whole crew was more upbeat and attentive. Both days my coffee was set out on the counter with no announcement. I had to check out the label to make sure it was mine. Made me appreciate my local Starbucks in San Diego where they ask my name , write it on the cup, and call it out when they put my drink on the counter. read more

This location isn't too bad. I do agree with a previous review regarding service being a bit slow. One time it was because the store order was being delivered. Other time, who knows. And there is one barista who is a bit crabby- never smiles, sort of acts put out over the fact that *gasp* I'm making her work! But all my drink orders have been consistent in taste which is why I come back to Starbucks. Doesn't matter where I am, Starbucks taste the same. It's a comfort to me I guess. Being new in town, familiar is what I need sometimes. So 3 stars for consistency in product. Would have been higher of "customer experience" was better. read more

I was with 3 other people ordering drinks, the girl who took my order was nice not super friendly though, everyone with me ordered tea hot and iced, I ordered an iced mocha, I waited about 5 mins and people who ordered after me we're getting there drinks so I asked if they had an iced mocha coming out and they say oh yeah as they looked and it was sitting in a cup with chocolate and the shots had been poured into the iced cup and had been sitting probably for 5 mins. No apology, finished my drink and handed it to me. I Hate when i order an iced drink and they pour the shots right into the plastic cup, my drink then tastes like plastic. If I'm paying 5 bucks for my drink make it right. So tired of Starbucks not caring how they make drinks. What A waste of money. read more

Went thru the drive thru and my drink was made incorrectly. Took it back inside and waited until they made all of the drinks for the drive thru, after I had already waited in the line. I was waiting by the register where I had returned the drink and the person who made my drink, who knew it was made incorrectly and that I was waiting for my correct drink, purposely took the drink once remade, all the way down to the end of the counter and placed it there and then told me the drink was down there for me to go get. Usually I would rate this place a five, great place to study for college student, however that changed tonight. Me and my sister went through the drive thru tonight, Oct. 8th, at around 8pm, I wanted to get my sister a little birthday present, her favorite, a medium cappuccino, with a shot of Carmel, (this time hazelnut since she said you guys were out of Carmel) almond milk and Splenda. The barista, a girl maybe collage with blond hair with bangs, thought we said Frappuccino, (which is a understandable mistake) when we told her she made a mistake, she looked really mad at us, closed the window, I saw her complain to her other coworker about us while making the cappuccino, made it a small in a medium cup (my sister is a regular Starbucks drinker, she knew it was a small) didn't put the flavoring or sugar in, yet still charged us extra for these things.
