They had a friends and family sale going on. 30% off coffee and cups/mugs if you purchase a drink. This was a great deal on the coffee so we bought a bag. The staff were nice and friendly and very helpful as we took our time choosing the right coffee. It was helpful that no one else was in line. The bathrooms now need a code, which you get at checkout. Nice spacious Starbucks - perfect for a break on the way to Yosemite National Park or on the way back to the Bay Area. Located in Merced, close to where CA 140 intersects with Route 99. They have a drive through, were well stocked, and had plenty of competent and friendly staff. We cobbled together a table for our party of seven and they didn't mind. Bathrooms were clean, and orders were filled quickly and correctly. Can't ask for much more from a Starbucks - we will certainly be back next time we go to Yosemite this way. read more

Super sucky experience! I ordered a cold brew cocoa almond cold foam and it was not the same as how other Starbucks have made it. I said no ice and they messed up and scooped it out along with the foam. I had used my stars for a free drink and it was just a bummer. I went back and told them and I encountered what looked to be the manger and she seemed annoyed, grabbed the drink, threw it away and her crew made another one in like 20 seconds which just seemed half assed at that point. I ordered at this Starbucks earlier today and got a strawberries and creme Frappuccino and I didn't realize until I got home that the drink looked very odd. I always order this drink so I know it wasn't supposed to look the way it did. The drink looked kinda chunky and the bottom was watery instead of having the strawberry stuff the put in the drink, but I just mixed it thinking that would but it didn't want to mix. I let it sit for a bit and when I looked at the drink a bit later, all the dairy product rose up to the top and bottom was watery af. I tried calling the store to let them know that they might be using bad milk but they never answered. read more

Although they are not the slowest drive thru around, they are fairly close in the rankings. Out of the numerous times that I have visited this location I have only received my order once or twice within the customer goal time on their monitors. I know they get hit with waves of customers, but at this location they are slow whether they have 10 cars to deal with or 2. I would suggest going inside for your orders, but they are equally as slow in store front. The baristas are friendly here and don't mind explaining everything on the menu to help you decide, but the unnecessary customer engagement during peak times is severely adding to their downfall. read more

Wow! I can't believe this place doesn't have a yelp. Well, here you go =) Been in Merced about 4 years, but live on the other side of town so I rarely go here. This place gets alot of traffic from people going to Yosemite or those who exit right off Highway 99. It's your standard Starbucks w/ drivethru, but don't be fooled by the small looking store front, as inside it is nice and spacious. Off in front of the register is a table and lounge chair and off the the side by the window is an even bigger lounge space with 2 small tables. And finally off to the corner are 3 small tables, perfect for studying or couples. I personally love this place because the customer service is wonderful, even when it's busy. The only Drive-Through in Merced that I'm aware of. They are extremely conveniently located off the freeway (Exit Childs Ave)... Even with that being the case, it is rare to find them completely packed. Beware--the parking is a bit scarce, so drive-through is the way to go (unless you want to drink or dine in). Biggest downside is the friendliness is hit or miss. Not too big of an issue since I have yet to have any blatantly rude behavior (as I have elsewhere)...and also not a big issue because while I'm more than happy to smile and be friendly regardless of how one is towards me, I don't need someone to return the favor in order for my day to not be ruined. Service is quick, accurate, and efficient...good enough for me! read more

Look, the coffee is Starbucks coffee, it's the same as everywhere else. This would be a DECENT place to work. There are about seven power outlets, only five of which are close to tables. I went to this Starbucks 3/27/18. There was one person in drive thru so I decided to just go through. It was 6:30 am when I pulled to place my order. I place the order go around to the other window and there is a car there he leaves after 5 min. I sit there for another 10 min for my one drink white choc mocha and croissant! The lady hands my croissant and said she was going to get my drink! 10 min later she comes back with my drink. While, I was watching her thru the drive thru she was making the persons behinds me refresher, taking orders and then went back to get my drink. So when she finally hands it to me, I said "it's a bit ridiculous Waiting so long for a drink why you are making the persons drink behind me. She stated that she's the only person there. I'm sorry that is not my fault that you are the only person their! It is also unsanitary for you to be making drinks while doing cashier without washing ur hands! Starbucks needs to get it together! Made a mobile order and drove thru the drive thru to pick it up. Apparently the crew doesn't understand service because we were greeted with "hi next time you place a mobile order don't order it right before you get here to give us more time". He then shut the window before we can even get a word in but a couple things. 1) your telling me mobile ordering it didn't give you enough time when we weren't in a rush and also doesn't it take more effort to order at the drive thru? 2) we literally had one car in front of us so maybe they just need a little more time to mentally and I guess emotionally process the fact they will actually be having to work for the money that they are making. He was a tan male with black hair and I've personally worked at Dutch Bros for 7 years and am more than happy to give this dude a lesson in service and who knows he might even get the stick out of his butt from it and make more tips :) read more

I can't get one simple coffee without my order being messed up. Please consider going to the other Starbucks locations.

I haven't always encountered "Good" employees, but they weren't too bad. Now when it comes to drinks, I have never favored how much sweetness they put into my drinks. It always tastes kind of watery. Some of the food they had I didn't like too much, but some I did. So it depends on you and what you like and what you don't like. But I like the drinks. And I'm still a customer. Worst Starbucks ever! There is no consistency. Early morning staff are rude and have no personality. I did a mobile order with a bagel, like I have done dozens of times before, and it wasn't toasted. "Not Your Typical Starbucks Experience" I'm going to take a stab in the dark here and assume this horrible experience is because they are in the middle of nowhere and don't really get avid Starbucks or avid Coffee Drinkers visit frequently enough that the staff here is morbidly unaware that a true Starbucks experience is supposed to be welcoming and inviting.
