I go to this Starbucks every single morning because it's conveniently on my way to work, but unfortunately the experience is consistently disappointing. The staff is rarely friendly, and they always seem behind, even during times that aren't overly busy. My drinks are frequently made incorrectly, which is frustrating when you're paying premium prices and trying to start your day on a good note. It feels like there's a lack of attention to detail and training -- baristas should know how to properly make the drinks. I keep coming back because of the convenience, but I really hope management takes a closer look at customer service and drink quality. I've never experienced being pressured to place an order within 10 minutes of arriving at a Starbucks, until today. As a graduate student, I visit this location at least three times a week and always make a purchase. Sometimes I don't order immediately because I'm not hungry or thirsty yet, but I always end up buying something, either because I'm there long enough to want something or simply because I understand that this is a business, not a public space. What really surprised me was being approached and told that I had to order something. That has never happened to me at any other Starbucks. At other locations, staff sometimes may even offer free samples to introduce new menu items, which I always appreciate and usually end up buying. The difference in attitude and service is very noticeable. On another occasion at this same location, I asked for a glass of water while waiting for a mobile order I had already placed. The barista told me I had to be a paying customer to get anything. She didn't notice that I was literally holding the bag of food I had just picked up. I held it up and asked, "Do you mean like this?" She then responded with a quick, "Oh, sorry," but the interaction still felt dismissive. After these repeated experiences, I honestly don't feel comfortable coming back to this location, even though it's the most convenient one for me. I hope this feedback helps bring some awareness and leads to better service moving forward. read more

Yum yum yum. I'm not a regular visitor or Starbies since I invested in a killer coffee machine a few years ago however, I win a GC at a party and now I'm addicted again lol! Caramel frappe is my man but lo and behold, what's this? Ribbon Crunch?!?!!!! I died and went to heaven and drank that drink everytime until my GC ran out. The manager was sooooooooooooooooooooooooooo rude today! Told us the store needed to close at 10:30, which was fine. But at 9:45 he's constantly blurting out loud "I need to get these people out of here" over and over. In the midst of customers, aggressively stacking chairs and moving tables. Sooo rude. Snapping his fingers at us, constantly hovering over us to leave. I told him he said 10:30 and he said HE needed to be out at 10:30. Well that's not was was said sir! Starbucks has forgotten what it is and it's a terrible experience now. The menu is all over the place, the service is delivered by distracted baristas more stressed about how to do all the things that have been clearly assigned to them than working with customers. There's little/no palace to sit down, there are hoards of people waiting for slooowly-delivered drinks that bump into you if you are seated. Today I get my regular order of a tall Mocha and a grande Cinn Dolce latte. The Mocha tasted horrible and the "grande" latte was 2/3 filled really making it just a 'tall'. Today my mother and I were heading out of town for Veteran's day. We decided to swing by the Miami Shores Starbucks to grab some coffee and breakfast before we hit the road. Inside, the store was pretty busy. We waited in line and ordered our food: a tall Caramel Brulee Latte, a tall mocha frappuccino, and two bacon, egg, and gouda sandwiches. As we waited for our items to be ready, I honestly can say I was relatively patient. They were clearly busy, which I understand, but about ten minutes passed and finally, we got one out of our 4 orders. We were handed one Bacon, Egg, and Cheese Gouda sandwich. My mother instantly said, "Um, we ordered two of these sandwiches." The woman seemed quick to correct us and didn't seem phased by our distress. "No, you only ordered one," she replied back rather sharply before she sauntered off. The two of us were left there dumbfounded by her lack of interest or empathy. Another six minutes went by before I was handed my Caramel Brulee Latte. The woman who had originally handed us the sandwich came back over, clearly seeing that we looked pissed, and also probably was wondering why we weren't leaving. She came over and finally said to us, "Did you still want your sandwich??" Um, really bish, do we still want our sandwich? Obviously! Why would we come in, order two sandwiches, get denied one of them and be still be like, "Oh, well!" Begrudgingly, she walked back off to go get us our ordered sandwich. My mother finally got her Mocha Frapp, and within five more minutes, we were handed our sandwich. It really pissed me off that it took two angry faces to make them realize their mistakes. I really like this place. The employees are nice and efficient. The people who frequent this location are also amicable. Everyone seems to be minding their business. This place is on the corner of a busy I intersection but it's such a nice neighborhood all around. The Starbucks is clean and organized and the drinks are prepared to perfection. I don't have anything negative to say except that I'm guessing a lot of people feel the same way since at times it's so packed that there's barely anywhere to sit (not a sign of bad business, huh?!). I've been to a number of Starbucks around the world, but I've enjoyed going to this one in MIami the most as I've run into quite a few characters and some of the nicest people. Every other Starbucks that I've been to the people are way too business minded. Yeah, I get it, we all want our coffee right now so we can get on with our day, but it's not much fun when you can't share a quick hello or a smile with someone in line. Anyway, the place is fairly clean. The staff is friendly and helpful. They're definitely on top of keeping their shelves full with food and drinks. Been actually mistaken by one of them for a celebrity, which is cool. So stop on by, place your order, wave to the fire fighters across the street doing their daily checks of their equipment and trucks and watch the madness unfold as these baristas whip up your java. :) read more

I have been visiting this store for almost 10 years, every year, several times over the Thanksgiving period when I come visit my family in Miami Shores. Until this year, I have always had positive experiences. This year, the staff is stunningly incompetent. Examples: wrong beverages; crazily long waiting times; trash overflowing (at 9AM); servers chatting with each other while customers wait; no spoons; no chocolate; no vanilla. Because of the 30 minute waiting time, for three days my family and I have forgone a second cup of coffee and seconds on food. So, sales missed. Possibly the franchise has changed hands. Probably more significant for Starbucks is that the brand suffers when service is this bad. read more

I got my favorite Grande Iced Upside Down Caramel Macchiato. It of course came out perfectly. Caramel drippings down the side of the cup, coffee beautifully swirled with milk. Just the right amount of sweetness. No need to add extra sugar here. Extras: the place is nice, clean, quiet, with clean restrooms. A nice neighborhood Starbucks locale. I usually love Starbucks but this one is VERY SLOW and the line was not long enough for the wait to make sense to me. It seems like the baristas are dragging their feet and very lackadaisical in getting the customers their orders in a timely fashion. Everyone sitting in here seems a little frustrated by the delay and we are all just sitting here. I've been waiting for about 12 minutes and all I ordered was an iced tea and a warmed up feta wrap. There are 12 people sitting/standing waiting for their orders. This is the slowest Starbucks I've ever been to. I placed my order at 9:26am and am just now receiving it at 9:45.... a bit ridiculous. Drink and food quality are up to Starbucks standards, though. I may need to find another Starbucks but I will give this one another shot. Maybe today was a bad day. read more

They are a bit disorganized land not like the others starbucks and the wait takes a while maybe 20-25 minutes in line and they have 2-3 working the drinks so not sure. This is one of my favorite Starbucks in Miami. Miami Shores is such a quiet, laid-back neighborhood. This location just fits right in. The staff are always very welcoming. It seems to be one of the more well-stocked Starbucks around - plenty of foods to choose from and the sale shelf is always full of merchandise to buy. There are a gang of comfortable tables inside and even outside on the sidewalk. No fighting over parking spaces here either. Great spot to sit back with a caffeinated beverage and relax. ;-) read more

I ordered a pumpkin spice latte and it tasted like coffee with cinnamon. I nicely explained to the cashier that i would like another that was a bit sweeter, with pumpkin flavor. I will not be going back. The service was indifferent and it was clear the baristas cared more about their conversations than providing service. The cashier was indifferent and frowning the whole time. The two baristas left me waiting for my order while they discussed, "Well he said, and didn't do this, and I said that and then he......". Parking is a drag in the morning as you can't park on the street. One of the slowest bucks I've ever been to, they screw up the milks often (whole milk in the skim). And not as clean as it should be for the business- the good thing is, they serve Starbucks coffee! read more
