I've put in multiple mobile orders here and it's almost never ready by the time I get there. The last time I was there I ordered inside the store, I was the only one there, and it took too long to get just a simple coffee and cream that I had to leave without it to catch my train. Brand new Starbucks in Oak Forest, yo! I'm going to be real: the service could be terrible, they could be selling coffee made with the blood of goats, they could charge a dollar more than the TP or Cwood spots & I would STILL frequent this location. Fortunately, the prices are standard, the coffee is made sans goat blood (thankfully, as I'm a pretty diehard vegetarian), and the employees are pretty friendly. My disclaimer is that this location is within walking distance from my residence, so all my Starbucks dreams have come true. This means it will probably close, but I remain hopeful that will NEVER be the case. If you're not familiar with the area, this Starbucks is in the train station parking lot. Hopefully that will keep their business up. Not that I singlehandedly won't help the cause, but still. Coffee is great, service is good, building is nice, and drive thru is efficient. Headed out of town this location seemed nearby but was out of the way. Shout out to unexpected detours! This was the best drink from a Starbucks I've had in some time. It was so good, afterwards I wished I had gotten a larger size. I went with a tall seasonal salted caramel mocha, light whip and almond milk instead. Not chemically overdone - the perfect amount of syrup pumps and just an overall winner. It was rather cold and this drink hit the spot and provided the exact comfort we want from a holiday drink on a cold day. The drink and snack I ordered came out within five minutes and with a smile. One grande, cold brew from Kim was able to get me on the path to reconsidering Starbucks. Kim couldn't have done a better job to make me a delighted customer. A couple of weeks ago, I had a disappointing experience at another Starbucks where I ordered (and paid for) some nitro coffee. The poor baristas couldn't get their tap to work. Their solution at this other SB? They had some cold brew already in a pitcher that they poured for me instead and then refunded the price difference. I didn't want that pre-made cold brew and I thought they should have refunded ALL of my money. But whatever. That was my less than stellar experience at the OTHER place. So, the stars aligned for me to stop at Kim's Starbucks. It was on the right side of the street and had a drive through (no line). They didn't have nitro but they did have the cold brew. This time I ordered a tall cold brew (the largest size I could afford based on the balance of my SB card after the last experience). Kim surprised me by telling me that she'd upgrade me to a grande. She was so pleasant with me and I was tickled by her gesture. Kim definitely gave me a 5 star experience; however, I'll have to go back again and see if that experience was an exception or a rule at this cafe before giving that rating to the location. read more

Favorite place on Sunday mornings, service always excellent until I encountered Marissa today 12/16/19. I was preparing to leave after finishing my latte and news paper. I decided I needed a cup of water. Marissa was at register and asked may I help you. I ordered a cup of ice water and she walked away. I moved to end of counter to wait. This Starbucks is so great! I've been coming in here for the last 6 weeks or so to do work on my laptop. I decided I like coming here more than working from home. I decided to buy one of the reusable cups to cut down on plastic waste. After about 6 uses, I dropped it when it was completely full and the weight of it shattered the side of the cup, lid, and straw. I was so annoyed and told one of the young ladies there about it. I was more annoyed that I was clumsy. And she was so nice! She asked her manager and they gave me a replacement! Which they really didn't need to do that. Last weekend after placing my order I realized quickly that I brought the wrong purse, and didn't have any money to pay my bill. I went to the window anyway to let them know rather than driving off. The ladies at the window were super kind about it and since the food/coffee was already prepared they gave it to me anyway. With a smile, they told me to have a great day. I work in this area and I avoid going to the Starbucks in Joliet near my house because the drive thru line wraps around the building and takes a year to get through. Very disappointed with today's visit since I normally have exceptional service at this location. I walked in with my family and the cashier just stared at us. She didn't say "can I help you" or anything. It was just this weird awkward silence with her just looking at us and then my husband just decided to say what he wanted. Also when we were finished and she handed me the receipt, I was the one that said thank you. Labor Day or not, the service needs to be consistent.
