While T-Mobile transfers our contacts to our new phones, Starbucks is a great spot around the corner for a hot "G-rated cocktail" and an enjoyable scroll-a-thon. Ambiance: After the mall employees' last-minute coffee rush before the stores open, and as the mid-morning caffeine fade starts to kick in, Starbucks was comfortably busy. A few tables were empty, and there was even one person interviewing for last-minute holiday positions. The pleasant, familiar chill music from the mid-1990s sets a nostalgic vibe. If you're sensitive to sound, be warned: there's a bit of an echo. A few acoustic panels would be a great addition to muffle the noise. Access to the shop includes both a wheelchair ramp and four steps from the entrance. The restrooms are in the rear, with orders placed at the back and picked up at the front. Service: The line was short, with two cheerful cashiers. There were many friendly faces working in food prep, barback, and at the espresso station. I snagged a table to prepare for our scroll-a-thon while waiting for our coffees--an approximately seven-minute wait. Everyone seemed genuinely happy to be there. Food: We ordered two Pumpkin Spice Lattes: one short, extra hot, with 2% milk ($6.26) and one grande, iced, with coconut milk ($7.22). Total: $13.48 before tip. The drinks tasted as expected for Starbucks, but the beans felt a bit lifeless--definitely not infrared roasted for that smoother taste and better yield. Value & Will We Be Back? Are there better beans around town? Yes. It's a shame that Starbucks prices keep climbing. The quality doesn't quite match what it was in Seattle back in the 1990s. Is it worth it? No, not really. But we had to kill some time! Will we be back? Yes, albeit with a firm grasp on the Starbucks reins out of principle lately. Overall, it's a nice store and location with good people. read more

Very odd interaction here just now. My wife and daughter walk in and ask for water. They're informed that they need to make a purchase to receive water so my wife does so but that is inconsistent from what we've had at other Starbucks. She purchases a bottle and comes out. She tells me the interaction and I find it a little weird so I go in myself walk up to bar and ask for water. They say "sure no problem would you like ice" and proceed to fill a cup for me. I ask why it was ok for me and then my wife and 9yr old daughter walk in. My wife is African American and I am a 45 year old Caucasian man. The barista apologies and said she thought I bought something. This is the exact same barista who spoke with my wife literally less than a minute earlier. Extremely rude and offensive. Adequate Starbucks in the Gardens Mall. The staff are relatively friendly, some oddballs. This place churns out teenage employees, so I'd recommend staying away from complicated drinks and having low expectations. I've seen some of them not wash equipment before moving on to a new drink and handle coffee lids with their hand directly on the mouth opening. (Get a new lid at the condiment bar). This place is always packed, so make sure to order online ahead of time or you'll be waiting for a while. I wouldn't recommend sitting down with a laptop or kids here, it's a very echoey, loud location especially and not very clean. read more

I've received friendly service every time I've been to this location. The staff are real people and kind hearted. They make a point to learn who their regulars are too. It can be a busy spot, being that it is right in the center of the mall, but the staff generally works at a good pace. The space is a decent size, there is much more room than the upstairs Starbucks, located by the food court. This location actually has some nice seating to enjoy if you need to do a little work, to relax, or meet a friend. Give this location a chance, they even tend to offer manager special discounts on food items from time to time! read more

The starbucks lower level in the PGA mall is only 1 of 3 stores I go to. The staff is alway friendly and they make an effort on remembering my name and drink. I can send someone in from my store and just tell them the basic drink and the staff will know exvatly who it is for. The barista ringing in my order was a joke. I'm a patient person but when you repeat an order 5 times and you know it's still incorrect. I got tired of telling him it was wrong and him looking at me like I was the problem. I would never treat a customer like that. The only reason I am giving two stars is because of how nice the barista was who actually made the drink and had to remake the drink because of course it was incorrect. Space is brand new. Just opened before Christmas. Seems like they have enough help but not in the right places. Little attention paid to the cleanliness. Tables aren't wiped down, trash not emptied, floors not swept on a consistent basis it seems. read more

I don't know if it needed more flavoring or what, but I had it much better from other Starbucks. It was kinda bland. Open on X'mas Day 2007 (7am-2pm) and the staff complimented Danny D's shoes. Thanks, Starbuck's! Vanilla Latte was a little too sweet, but otherwise ok. There was a strange woman who also kept making much ado about Danny D's Mr. Happy shoes and it was all we could do to keep our frozen grins intact. Y'know - holiday cheer and all. I order a drink (Iced Americao) and waited for 15mins and the employee won't hurry up and skip my order over 8 times and asked one person to hurry up but they won't hurry up , and left the place. The main point is the employee give the drink to people,who order recently instead of the people,who waited for 15 mins.
