I stopped at the Starbucks kiosk inside the Target in Somers Point expecting it might be a quiet, convenient spot on my way to work. The store itself was empty, and I was able to walk right up to the counter and order without any wait. I ordered a double shot of espresso and a hot white chocolate mocha. While my drinks were being made, I noticed the employee preparing my espresso was distracted and chatting with a Target store associate. What concerned me was watching him rinse out a disposable paper cup with water and then pour my espresso into that same cup. When I got my espresso, I took the lid off and could see water droplets all around the inside of the cup, mixing with the espresso. It immediately made the drink feel diluted and, honestly, just not made the way a customer should receive it. The register employee was polite and did a great job taking my order, and I left a small tip. After that, I calmly asked the employee who made the drink (Edwin) why he rinsed out the paper cup with water instead of using a fresh cup. He told me he had accidentally made a triple shot, dumped it, and then made the correct double shot, and he offered to remake it. I appreciated the offer, but I declined and simply said I would have preferred a fresh cup instead of washing one out. I thanked them and started to leave. As I was walking out, after they thought I was out of earshot, I heard Edwin call me a "dickhead." I stopped for a moment because I genuinely couldn't believe I heard that in a customer-facing setting. At that point I chose not to escalate it further and just left. Overall, this was a disappointing experience. Mistakes happen, and I'm not upset that an order needed to be corrected; but rinsing and reusing a disposable cup for a customer's drink isn't what I expect from Starbucks standards, and the disrespect afterward was unprofessional and unnecessary. The cashier handled things well, but based on this visit, I wouldn't go out of my way to come back to this location. read more

I did curbside pick up and checked in when I got there. Waited and waited after 10/15 minutes I finally went inside bc at this point now I know my stuff is getting watered down. I see my stuff sitting on the counter whipped cream is pretty much gone out of the one drink and the lattes ice is almost gone too. Also got a wrap that at this point was cold. I asked the girl at the desk out of curiosity why my stuff wasn't brought out and she flipped her iPad and said I didn't get anything with an attitude. I checked in literally 5 different times just to make sure it was going though because I thought it was wild I was still waiting. Offered not a single apology. I let the girl know that there was other people in the cars in the spots probably waiting and she again with an attitude and sarcastically said I didn't get anything thank you. Customer service is awful here. Wouldn't reccomend this location better off going across to target and going in where they're always nice :))) read more

I am extremely disappointed with this location. Not only am I faithful Starbucks lover, I am a huge supporter of small concession coffee shops at Target. This location advertised to close at 8pm and it is now 7:40pm as I write this review. I am so upset. read more

I just had to take the time to brag about this location! I have been coming to this Starbucks for a very long time, and I can say that every single interaction with the staff has been amazing! I don't know who manages them, and I don't know if management has changed over the years, but there is something about this location that I am always happy to Come inside and grab my order. And most recently I was there for a study day and the staff was just so attentive and helpful and just all-around amazing! Sometimes when I go to other Starbucks location, they make me feel stupid for not knowing the proper terms for what kind of coffee I want, but this staff at Somers Point is always willing to explain, and they never make me feel that way. I just went here on Saturday morning at 9:00 for a LARGE iced latte The Blonde girl at the register was rushing around and really making me feel like I can't even say my order because of how "busy" she seemed I said Large cinnamon dolce iced latte with whole milk that's it The guy gives me a small I paid cash and she did not Give me a receipt so I had to tell him I asked for a large and it's honestly annoying because I didn't say VENTi Or Grande I said Large so idk why she got it wrong So the guy is nice and makes the drink over by pouring the small into a large cup and I guess adding more milk so now I have a LARGE cup of milk I can't even drink it Because there is so much milk and don't even taste the cinnamon yet alone any espresso it's totally milk and ice $5 wasted!!! Yesterday I went there and got The exact same drink and it was made correctly and tasted great that's why I came back Saturday morning crew needs to pay more attention to the customer in front of them not the line behind the customer. read more

Literally had the rudest barista. I had literally no almond milk in my coffee at all and this bxtch had the audacity to tell me that there was almond milk in it. The coffee was pretty much black. Will not return to this establishment due to the horrendous customer service. read more

I stopped at this shop for quick coffee and large peach ice tea. Going to my car I noticed the lid did not fit the coffee cup. Putting a little pressure on cup i realized it was cheap and felt like it could clasp the lid blew away. Going back to ask for another lid was quite annoying to staff.I had given a generous tip when ordering. When i did not tip again I was wished Have Good Day several times. For 7.60 including tip for large ice tea med coffee 2creams in a very cheap cup felt like I was had. Why would the have CHEAP cardboard cups with lids that do not fit. From 1 star to 5 stars... Previous review: This is probably the worst Starbucks I have ever gone to with regard to getting an order right the first time. I use mobile ordering and get a simple latte with NO FOAM. I use the mobile app to save time and get in and out fast. 4 out of 5 times the drink is loaded with foam and has to be done over. So much for saving time with a mobile order. Sure wish there was another Starbucks in he area. Well, it's been 3 months since my last 1 star review and absolutely nothing has changed. I still mobile order my NO FOAM drinks and they still load it with anywhere from 1 to 1.5" of foam. Always a redo which negates the speed advantage of mobile ordering. I have to say they are pleasant about the do overs but you would think by now they would have this figured out. I did speak to the manager who gave me a gift card for a free drink and made the drink herself. I just wish there was another Starbucks in the area as all the others don't seem to have this problem. Updated Review 9/2/17: Well it's now been a year since my last review and they must have a new manager who cares. For the past 2 months my mobile orders have been some of the best (if not the absolute best) I have had in years. Perfect lattes with no foam and filled to the top. Kudos to you guys!!! There are three reasonably distanced Starbucks around this area that accept Starbucks rewards; 1 in Atlantic City, 1 in Mays Landing, and this one. Of the three, most of my terrible Starbucks experiences come from this one. The employees who take my orders usually seem like they're too busy, not looking directly at me when taking my order. Moreover, they're not quite the friendliest folks either, making customers feel uncomfortable rather than relaxed; when I freshly receive my order I just want to run out instead of grabbing a seat. And choose wisely if you're going to order form the secret menu. They don't have all the ingredients that some of the drinks may call for and their blends aren't the best compared to other baristas from other locations. If you are dying for a Starbucks fix and this is the most convenient one, then sure it'll do that some justice. But if you have the choice of going to any other Starbucks location nearby, then do so on my order. Perhaps my order will have more respect than the amount given at this Starbucks ha. read more

I found this Starbucks while running errands in Somers Point. I needed my fix and stopped in. The line of customers was practically out the front door. Simple. When you have 2 people ringing drinks in and 2 people making them, it would work (in theory)? However, on this day, only one person was making drinks. The drink maker then started shooting the breeze with a customer as the drinks piled up. Come on. You don't see the line of people? Sorry, I don't have all day to waste on overpriced coffee. I prefer this Starbucks to the one in ocean city since you can't use any of your points there which really sucks. At least this one isn't to far away so I can go there when I have to make trips to shop rite. Out of the times that I have been here they have never gotten my order wrong. I like Starbucks coffee and this is a big Starbucks, but I absolutely love the fact that I can order on my phone and just walk in and pick up. It is always ready and I never have to wait. Going between New York City for school and my home in Linwood, I can really see the contrast in customer service between the two types of locations. I really enjoy this type the most. I'm a Starbucks addict, and have been for as long as this location has existed. This location single-handedly turned me into a coffee fanatic. I believe they opened this store when I was either a sophomore or a junior in high school. It quickly became a hot spot for my high school clique of friends to hang out, catch up, grab a quick fix, and just relax. Back then, I would sneak out of the house and use my allowance to binge on coffee, and now I splurge a significant portion of my paycheck on it. I guess some things never change... As I got older and moved out of state for college, whenever I came home, I found this location to be the perfect homework haven in a small town that has no other "homework hangout" to offer. Now, several years later, when I visit home for the holidays, I get this nostalgic feeling every time I walk in and see familiar faces--often teachers, community members, and old peers from high school. To top it all off--the service here is unmatched. As someone who travels regularly, I've pretty much seen every range of Starbucks stores, and this tops all of them. I guess I may be a bit biased because this my hometown Starbucks, but oh well:) Some of the staff have worked here for as long as my memory serves me, and they're incredibly sweet. They often go out of their way to brew a single cup of a blend they don't already have made, they're the only Starbucks that ACTUALLY makes my Chai Tea Lattés extra hot, they don't roll their eyes at my annoying requests, the bathrooms are always clean, and on the rare occasion that it isn't totally packed, I can find myself indulging in charming little conversations with the incredibly friendly baristas. The layout is pretty nice, and the outdoor seating is wonderful in the summertime. P.S. One of the baristas is a total cutie--I'm pretty sure I awkwardly fumble on my words and/or pull some other embarrassing maneuver every time he takes me order! read more

Wow, surprised how many misfires this place is having. Bathrooms were dirty, all the tables were disheveled and dirty, they were out of the turkey bacon bfst sandwich, out of the Jade tea and then when I got my drink (trenta green tea/lemonade) it was only 90% filled. Not happy! read more

It's an average Starbucks. The staff are friendly, the floors are clean and they get you out the door fast. The staff can completely 180 in less than a week in a positive or negative way. When you go to this Starbucks, it's either a hit or miss. There is nothing that great that makes this location stand out. If you can, go to another Starbucks or just another coffee shop! read more

Great space, if you time it right you can probably find a good spot to get work done or have a time conversation with a friend. It's a very busy spot though, I will say. The only reason I give it 4 instead of 5 is because it is absolutely FREEZING in there, no matter the time or season. A sweatshirt is not enough; you need a parka to be able to stay here for longer than 20 minutes. So just be aware of that. read more
