We stopped here for lunch while out in the city. I ordered the BAT (bacon, arugula, and tomato) sandwich and my friend ordered a sweet potato quesadilla. Both meals were delicious. I also ordered a chai tea latte which was very good. The atmosphere is very casual. The girl at the front counter who took our order didnt have a whole lot of personality but we still enjoyed our visit. The bathroom is small but accommodating. Stayed at the Airbnb upstairs. John, the owner of Positively Fourth Street Cafe and the Airbnb rental, was so kind. We had our choice of breakfast in the morning included in our stay. First morning I had a latte and breakfast sandwich. I love how the breakfast sandwich looked like it was done on a panini press with regular bread. The bacon in the sandwich was in little bits as well which made it very interesting. The sandwich came with a side of spicy mayo. The next morning, I got oatmeal which was pretty cool cause it had peanut butter in it and coconut flakes at the top. I ended up with a green smoothie as well. It tasted pretty healthy. read more

The avocado toast is poppin'! Their baked goods are also insanely delicious. Love the cozy vibe too--makes me feel nostalgic for the cafes we used to have like this in NYC back in the 90's. No other cafe is like this in Ocean City--one of a kind, so do check it out! Just be prepared for long waits, the place is popular but small. Either way, it's worth it! Just go early. read more

Visited the cafe twice during our vacation. Breakfast sandwich (egg, bacon, and cheese) was good, but the egg was about an inch thick with the crumbly bacon. We thought if the ratio of ingredients could be more balanced, it would make an excellent sandwich for the price they charge ($11/sandwich) We ordered an Americano and a Cappuccino during the second visit. I have to say, we did not care for the taste. Not sure where they get their beans, but it was hard to enjoy any espresso in either coffee. The cafe is always so popular as there is a line out the door. Service was nice, albeit slow. We wished it was a better place for our coffee crave! read more

Positively 4th Street is one of my favorite places on the north end. It is within walking distance of our house and has cool coffee shop vibes that blend the beach and the city. I wanted to add my review before the summer ends! We showed up for a late breakfast and the line was out the door - as it often is by this time. Their food is not cheap but I am always happy to pay extra to support this local small business that gives my part of town a little character. I got a cappuccino (peep photos for presentation!) and a B+E+C breakfast sandwich. My girlfriend got Apple Positively Toast (C) on Multigrain toast with cream cheese, fig jam, apples and chia seeds. The have a huge toast menu but none of them have any protein so I went with the sandwich. I'm not sure what kind of cheese was on my sandwich but it was VERY good and melty. The bacon was chopped and their bread is awesome on everything. The eggs were cut into a square shape, which I actually really enjoyed. The sandwich also came with a chipotle mayo that complimented the flavors well. The apple toast that my girlfriend got was pretty good. Definitely too much cream cheese for my liking but they use this really good fig jam that I love. There are a few lunch sandwiches that have it as well. If you are in the area, give this place a try. DON'T be turned off by the fact that the sandwich come in aluminum foil - they are good, I promise. For me this adds to the charm of Positively 4th Street. I asked if the potato could be dropped from the breakfast sandwich (bacon, egg, cheese and potato = 8.25) for my diabetic husband. Instead they gave me an egg and cheese sandwich plus bacon and charge me an extra two dollars (10.25). It's small but annoying to be charged extra for less for a medical condition. Came here to do work for a couple hours. Ordered an iced latte. Tasted a bit watered down. There was no indoor seating (which is fine as we're still coming out of COVID, although it seems that most cafes and restaurants are allowing indoor seating). So I sat outside under the awning outside which was quite nice as it was breezy. At one point I needed to use the bathroom and wasn't allowed to use theirs, so I had to walk 10 minutes to the closest bathroom which was on the boardwalk. Again, not a huge deal but a little inconvenient. There were also no outlets outside so when my laptop died I had no choice but to leave. I may come back again for the coffee and pastries, which looked good - but it's definitely not the best spot to sit for a few hours and crank out some work. read more

Vacationing on 2nd street this year and was delighted to stumble upon this retro style joint on 400 Atlantic Ave during a morning walk. * While the inside of the store is not accessible due to COVID-19, we were able to easily place our order through window service (they also were offering online orders) and pick up our coffees through a separate window. The staff was very polite and did an excellent job at following CDC guidelines. * The iced black coffee had a smooth, strong flavor and I can tel that the beans they are using are ground in-house and are of good quality. This dainty little cafe ornate with handicrafts and painted guitars is clearly a local's favorite, with long lines reaching outside the cafe in the mornings. Hubby had egg and cheese panini, which was unique and delicious. I had quinoa in oj, which turned to be not that great a choice. I really enjoyed my coffee and chocolate muffin. The owner, John is very friendly and will give you great suggestions about other restaurants around and if you are adventurous, less touristy parts of the island to explore.
