The drive thru was really dark, no cars. So we drove around to the front to see if they were open. Seeing a couple seated we decided to give it a shot. Came inside and was told by Meredith the barista, she would be with us in a moment. She made three drinks as we stood waiting, I'm assuming either mobile orders or the three cars that came as we waited. I asked as she was making the third drink if we should go through the drive through, she asked me to repeat what I said so I said it lifer and clearer. I came in for a coffee and to kill some time as I was early for an appointment in a nearby business. I arrived at 9:28. There was two people ahead of me. I didn't get my coffee until 9:50. The problem was with the ordering. Both people in front of me had to have the manager come over and fix mistakes in the charges. Baristas care more about teaching you the "right way" to order ahead instead of making the order. I typically order ahead and fully understand the timing and that it's easier on the staff to do it 10 minutes in advance. This location is 3 minutes away from the hospital where my dad was getting surgery. Barista rudely told me to order earlier next time when the drive thru line was 4 cars long and the wait to the window was plenty of time to finish the order I placed a few minutes ago. I have been to Starbucks all over America and the world, and this one is excellent. My husband ordered a pike coffee with room for cream and it came out perfect and tasted wonderful. The servers were very pleasant and courteous to us and the other servers. I read the other reviews and have to say they were pretty harsh over a missing sleeve (which they had 20 on the counter for folks today) and missing sugar. This starbucks is consistently rude and slow, idont think the employees even drink the coffee. They are unsofisticated. Ive literally waited twenty minutes in drive thru, 15 is the norm here. And the app, they dont even make it until you ask for it in this starbucks is always a little suspicious and tries to close early, and then I get here on memorial day (Im a nurse so I work nights and holidays) and there is a handmaid sign that directly contradicts the hours posted on the company sign in the window. I'm not a Starbucks fanatic, haven't been there in years, but one day I was out to lunch and one of my co-workers specifically requested a "Java Chip Frappaccino", so I found this place tucked away on the corner of 31st and Dodgen. First off, it's clean and pleasant inside. Secondly, the customer service here was fantastic. The girl who helped me (may have been the manager) was so helpful and courteous. I didn't know what I wanted, and was looking for something cold (frappacino) but didn't want all that sugar and calories, so she proceeded to offer up several different options. In the end we agreed on a Coffee Frappaccino w/ Soy Milk, no whip cream, w/ sugar free carmel syrup....and I tell ya it tasted fabulous!! Just came to Starbucks this morning and placed an online order. It's never been a problem before coming at 5AM as I work at the H-E-B next door and come in usually at 4:45 AM to get my coffee and breakfast. No one answered at the ordering station so I pulled forward to the window since it's just a mobile order they wouldn't need to take my order or anything. So I wait and wait... watching the baristas walk by the window, not acknowledging me at all. I even honked and waited for 5-8 min before someone finally came and I mentioned "hey i have a mobile order for isabella" and they said "that's not possible we weren't even open." and i say "well my phone says different. look." so I showed them my phone and they say "oh it does look like it took your order." So I said lyeah and it charged my card, so can I have my order?" then another girl who has dyed pink/red hair, and these braids comes up and she goes, "it literally wasn't possible for you to get an order. we weren't even open" as if she's denying that i made this order and that i'm lying. to which i said "well i come here all the time in the AM and this has never happened. it took my money so would y'all take my order and charge me again?" to which they thankfully said no they wouldn't but it would be a wait. Kinda defeats the whole purpose of mobile ordering to get ahead It just started my morning off real bad since the lady with the pink/red hair was so sassy/rude about it. The service at the Starbucks is terrible. On one occasion, I had placed a mobile order online and when I got to the store, it was closed. The store didn't even bother to close its services on the app. It just took my money. This places is always understaffed during rush hour times. This store never has anything in stock. No matter what time of day I go, it always runs out of pastries or flavor syrups. They give you forks to spread your butter or cream cheese for your bagel. Management here is just poor and the staff need more training. If it wasn't the only Starbucks on my way to work, I would just stop going to this one. read more

This particular Starbucks location gets a solid 4-star rating just from personal experience alone, but what actually bumps it up a notch is the amazing customer service that I ALWAYS get from here no matter what time of day I arrive. This review is targeted mainly for the drive-thru employees/baristas. They are always super friendly, always ask how you're doing, and sometimes they'll even exchange comical banter with you just to make you smile or laugh. You can tell these folks truly enjoy their job and make it their mission to make sure your visit is just as equally enjoyable, if not more. Twice, I have received drinks for free here on separate occasions. Not because of any complaints on my part, but one was for an unusually long wait time in the drive-thru and the other was simply because the barista felt generous, stating to my boyfriend, "you look like you're having a good day, these are on me. Probably one of the worst Starbucks I've visited. Ordered half Pike half Decaf, but there wasn't any decaf available. So, ordered straight Pike with room and a blueberry muffin. I look over and the cashier is pouring cream in my Pike. "I don't want cream, just room so the coffee doesn't spill all over." Cashier pours me a Pike that is so full that it spills. Waiting for my muffin, which they decided to warm. I don't know who's training these folks, but they are doing it in a way that is quite contrary to any location I've ever visited. I really like Starbucks, however I tend to have some issues at this location. To begin with when there is a lot of customers my order seems to always be lost. I waited a good 30 minutes before I once again had to ask for my Frappuccino to be made. And they still took another 15 on top of that to make me and my fiances drinks. Also they do not call orders out very loud so I see drinks constantly sitting on the bar. I sat very close to the front and even I couldn't hear them very well. Secondly my coffee drink is almost never mixed well. I pay a good amount of money for this drink, it could at least be mixed. However I am usually happy with the other drinks they sell. Their new shaken teas are very delicious. I will continue going to Starbucks of course, but maybe a diffrent location. read more

My text/letter to the store manager: Good Morning Angel. I've tried to give this store a chance. But it's just terrible every time I visit. I'm not a local. I travel to Temple twice a month for work. And I always attempt to enjoy service at your store. Today the cashier was warm and friendly. (Which isn't always the case! So yay!) I don't remember her name, but it was a name tag made with paint marker and a small little animal. Very nice person. Ok service. She forgot to edit my order... but okay, it happens. Then, there was the guy. Who is always "seen". He's loud. And he must be in some sort of management role. He left the store today. And then returned. He has glasses and a wedding band. He wears his cap backwards. I'm hoping this isn't you. Why? Because he is not demonstrating conduct of a store manager. He was shouting in the store about "competing with hours" with another gentleman who also wears glasses. This guy seems more quiet and subtle. I came in for an iced coffee. I told the woman taking my order EXTRA ALMOND MILK. She didn't put that on my order. But that wasn't the issue. It sat for the drive thru for awhile. My croissant that was heated came out sooner. The gentle guy with glasses noticed I was looking for it (Twice, cause I didn't want to be a mega bitch and yell.) and corrected it. I was pleased. The other glasses guy is not an example. Please coach him about behaviour in front of customers. It's always terrible. This is my last visit. I'm sorry but this Starbucks never gets my order right. And, loud glasses guy is just off putting.
