I'm back! It was a cold day in January today, decided to treat myself after running a 5k this morning. I got a 1/2 moon latte and it's so good! Perfect for this cold weather. Service on the slower side today, but it's so packed and there's only two workers, so I'll let it slide!! Ambiance is full of people wfh, studying, and conversing. Early morning meetings are better in nice comfortable locations. Summer Moon is clean and laid out in a manner conducive to casual conversations. I ordered the 1/4 moon with an extra shot of expresso. $7 gives you a sweet balanced drink with a smooth coffee flavor. The staff was polite and quick. read more

Depending on which summer moon you go to matters. The coffee is ALWAYS amazing. If you love sweet coffee, or coffee that doesn't taste like coffee like me, definitely come. Each location has either pastries, tacos, or donuts. The one on south 1st has gluten free donuts. The employees and their dedication to service is the absolute highlight here! They are so welcoming and kind. It was our first time visiting and the menu was pretty confusing, but they explained everything to us and let us try samples of the "Moon Milk". The cafe is super clean and modern, and it would be an excellent study spot. However, this place is really expensive. I guess if you're planning to sit down and study/have a long conversation, it's worth it for the cost of the time your there, the but I wouldn't necessarily recommend this as a grab and go spot - there are much cheaper options for the quality and taste. read more

I feel bad putting this review as I know it'll mess with their ratings. I really hoped they'd had more reviews but also wanted to let the owners/operators know where to improve. Happy to update my rating upon a better experience at my next visit!! It's Mother's Day. To my surprise, summer moon was open. I'll choose to support local over Starbucks, especially on the holidays. I drove up and waited for one vehicle. Upon pulling up, my car starts dinging because I have a heavy box in my passenger seat. I'm sure it made it more difficult to hear my order but I repeated each drink thrice. One double moon raker with mocha added. Repeated the mocha part three separate times. Then I ordered my husband a iced spiced chai with two shots added. Repeated the flavor two more times, and said 2 shots added both times. Instead of repeating my order, he asked my name and told me my total. I should have known better and asked him to repeat it. I get to the window and am not greeted with even a smile, just a total and a card reader. Not the experience I ever received at the trailer in Belton. Upon handing me my moon raker, it's very obviously not mocha. She says, "it doesn't say on the cup, but I'll have him add it." Spoiler: there was no sticker on that cup. You're right. It certainly doesn't say it on the cup because it says nothing. Soooo???? Then they pass me the chai. Almost white for a spiced chai. I said, "and this doesn't look like it has any espresso added. Was it?" She responds, "well it's not on the cup," as if I'm the reason for the mess up instead of just saying, "I'm so sorry, I'll get that fixed." It's not a big deal at all but being approached as if it's my fault is unacceptable to me... she didn't apologize. She didn't thank me for my patronage. Finally, upon completion of the correct drink, an older than the cashier, very kind gentleman said, "here's your dirty chai! Have a wonderful day!" Finally, someone who knows what a dirty chai is and someone who knows how a customer service role works. The gentleman taking my original order acted like I was speaking gibberish and couldn't care less if he got my order right in the first place. All growing pains and totally normal. So just wanted to offer the feedback so it can be improved upon. So happy to see businesses like this coming to the area and not just major chains. Summer Moon offers a selection of house brewed coffees and teas along with grab and go drinks and snacks. I enjoyed a frozen hot chocolate and a fresh, warmed up cinnamon twist donut from a local bakery (Big Krumnows Crumbdough in Holland). They offer a drive thru service and inside seating. I think they will eventually have some outside seating because there is a cement patio area out front. Various seating inside-high top tables, regular tables/chairs, and some arm chairs situated around an electric fireplace for cozy ambiance. I first stumbled upon Summer Moon at their Round Rock location on an impromptu trip to the nearby IKEA, and was thrilled to see them open up a location in Temple! The shop is bright, airy, and spacious, with lots of seating and electrical outlets. Music to my coffee shop-loving ears! I've stopped by a few times since opening, and the staff have always been incredibly cordial and quick. Now on to the coffee: my go-to is their 1/2 Winter Moon Latte, which toes the line between a regular iced latte and an indulgent treat thanks to their secret "Moon Milk." It makes for a delicious drink with a creamy mouthfeel that still allows the taste of the espresso to shine through. BUT one glance at their nutrition info confirms that sadly, Moon Milk is truly as decadent as it tastes! And it is for that reason Summer Moon isn't my everyday coffee joint, lol. My Americano tasted great, along with the carrot bread. The atmosphere is pretty nice, with calming music; good for work on a laptop, or just productive thinking time. It's not large, but cozy, with a little fireplace. Small groups can gather. The employees are nice overall. read more
