I shop here regularly for some of my favorite spices that are not available at most stores & have to be ordered online. My husband likes coming here as a nostalgic experience from childhood to get the sausage burger. The burgers are good, nothing special. They have a little store where they sell products they use in the cafe. Let me be clear, I know my review won't stop folks from coming to the beloved Greens. Especially in the climate we live in today. Noone stands up for others ...many don't even respect themselves. Anywho, here's my experience today. I had a guest from out of town so I decided to bring him to Greens to have some good food. Yes, it's good! Unfortunately he stood at the counter and the woman rudely said just a minute when he got her attention. Let me say, they were busy. They always are...BUT a minute later he stepped back (he is a black man) a white man stepped up to the counter and was serviced immediately.... well he tried one more time and the same thing happened. The lady, a waitress I guess, rudely said just a minute. Well seeing that she had time to help "her kind" I directed my guest to the door. I am a white woman myself. I can clearly see who is welcomed and who is not. Furthermore I see that there are other reviews implying the same. It won't matter to many and won't impact this beloved business but I won't be driving 20 minutes again to patronize this business. I won't recommend it to anyone any further. I am very disappointed that in 2024 human beings are treated this way. 2 stars because this was employee as far as I know and the food is still good. Would give more but if the employee feels this comfortable treating ppl of color this way on many occasions I'm going to assume the business owners are okay with it. 2 stars is giving the benefit of the doubt and not leaving just 1 star. read more

Great food at a reasonable price! The restaurant offers table dining, and they also have a counter where customers can sit. I enjoy the counter as the servers are always right there and you might see someone you know as customers come and go. Excellent service. They keep a check on you and make sure you always have everything you need. You'll never have to go looking for your server here. It's a country atmosphere and they keep it the dining area very clean. They keep the restrooms well-stocked and clean. Every time one of the kitchen employees steps out of the kitchen, you see them wash their hands before they go back. Their aprons are surprisingly clean, and they always have a smile for you. The food is served hot and fresh. The portions are big enough to satisfy me, and I have a big appetite. They don't mind special requests. They aim to please. We had the barbeque brisket sandwiches with sweet potato fries. The fries were some of the best sweet potato fries we've ever had. The barbeque is top notch. There is a retail side where you can buy fresh meats made on site. Their sausage is the stuff of legend. You have to be very lucky to stop by and not find a long line at the counter. They are just that good. This is the place people go to in order to get meat for their family gatherings and other special occasions. You can count on these folks to not let you down. They will make you look good at any family reunion or business function. They even sell fresh bakery items like bread and desserts. We drove for what seemed like a million miles to get here on the recommendation of two different friends. By the time we got here I was starving and grouchy. They were pretty busy so it took a minute for service. The service is friendly. But let's talk about the food. If you're a real southerner you love fried food. This place definitely fits the bill. I had a chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes with southern green beans. It's off the hook! I loved it so much I can't wait to make the long drive back to try something else. They grind their own meat they make their own sausage. My chicken fried steak was hand battered in the gravy was awesome! My husband had a burger which was also fresh ground. It was delicious. The food was good. I had a cheeseburger and fries and my dad had the hamburger steak with fries and salad. He said his was really good. The service was ok. I would've like to had a water refill but they got really busy. My main complaint was how long it took to get a table, then to finally get a menu , then to get our drink order , then to take our order and finally bring out our food out. You definitely don't wanna come here when you're starving to death because they take their time and the waitresses don't get in any hurry to clean the tables when we first walked in there was hardly anybody in there, but there was probably five or six tables that were dirty and needed to be cleaned off. I think they stagger taking people's orders or something because I noticed that they were doing that to everybody so I don't know if they only have one cook back there or what's going on. My personal favorites are the boudin, cheese and jalapeño sausage, 'red' wieners, and pepper jack cheese. My grandkids love the beef sticks. If I'm hungry, I grab a snack to enjoy on my ride. The food here is very country. Diner down home cooking. Excellent taste excellent portion size the only thing I found funny is they don't do sweet tea. The service was fast friendly and she came by several times to check on us to make sure we had everything we needed, as for the place itself, it's clean it's cozy it's a country diner that is attached to an amazing little store with all the little goodies in their of their own Jared pickles, which are amazing, their own pickled beets, and beans which are amazing honey's drinks.
