I wish I knew the young man's name that was in charge of the drive thru line at this Starbucks the morning we stopped by, because he had the exact positive energy and enthusiasm we needed to lift our spirits and get us ready for the road! Shout out to him- he's how every food industry worker & worker in general should hold themselves! And as always, Starbucks is Starbucks. I do love to get their protein egg bites sometimes when I want something to eat that's somewhat good for you and also filling, which isn't the easiest to find at SBux. One of my favorite things to get here is any of their refreshers/ lemonades, because they truly are refreshing and so tasty. Keep up the great work drive thru guy! read more

Drive thru was hoping so I went inside to order our two non complicated drinks at 10:30 in the morning. I noted that there were 8 employees and 4 people in line in front of me. No problemo I thought. Friendly service, it seemed. I'm not sure what happened but I kept thinking our drinks would be next but it was clear mobile orders and drive thru were prioritized over in store patrons. 45 minutes later, I asked for a refund idmy drinks weren't currently being made (on the road with a deadline) and first the cashier was like I don't know even know so I asked him to go find out. I was told my drinks were third in line and he didn't know how to do a refund. I told him politely we had to leave and I would wait while he figured out the refund. He did do it without having to ask anyone else how to do it. And then proceeded to count my change very slowly. Anyway, I'm sure it was a busy day but it was seriously weird experience. read more

Good, consistent, and fast. Ordered 4 Holiday drinks, 3 with special milks and 2 with reusable cups, and the cashier and barista were very friendly and efficient. The location is also great for getting in and out fast! Anytime we are through Topeka we will be back! read more

Is it me or has Starbucks become foam happy with all their drinks ? Last week I ordered a grande hot chocolate without whip cream from their drive thru. I paid for my drink, grabbed my drink and proceeded to drive off. One thing I noticed is that the top part of the cup felt a little cooler than the rest of the cup, so I stopped at a gas station to look into my cup. And I was shocked to see that I only had a half cup of hot chocolate, and a topped with a layer of whip cream. From the sides of the cup, I could tell that the level of the drink was at the top, so I was able to conclude that Starbucks had filled my cup halfway with foam. A few days later in a different city, I ordered a grande latte. And when I received my drink, I looked in the glass and once again, I noticed that a third of my glass was all foam. So is it Starbucks new business model to fill the cups with as much foam as possible to save on the cost of milk in their coffee drinks ? 2 stars deducted for messing up my order, and for consistently putting too much foam in the lattes. read more

This is the closest Starbucks to my work and I wish it wasn't. The issue isn't really the coffee or the baristas but the amount of time it takes to make it through the drive through. I just waiting behind maybe 4 other cars and watched an entire thunderstorm move in over me before I ordered. Please, please, please work on this. Update: I'm lowering this review down to 1 star. Within the past 2 months I've had more major issues at this location. Most recently I ordered my usual (a double short americano with cream) and was handed a very light cup. When I looked inside it was a double shot with cream. It was cold and an incomplete beverage. When I asked the barista if it had cream she was confused and then when I asked if she could add hot water to it she was even more at a loss. I eventually convinced her the drink would be fine if she just added hot water. What. A. Mess. Updated #2: if I could give fewer stars I would. The baristas are so nice, but my almond milk latte is seriously burnt. I'm a former barista and this drink is barley edible. It's so frustrating to spend nearly 5 dollars on an 8oz latte to get to work and find out it's bad. The milk is flat and I'm convinced they didn't stretch the milk at all, just leaving the wand in to burn it. Never get almond milk at this location ever. I'll probably just start driving to the new location in Topeka as this is just too much of an issue. read more

The shift supervisor is very disrespectful to the customers. The service is slow. When I asked for a managers name or phone number she said " you can call the store. We don't give out numbers" I had ordered 4 drinks and 2 pastries. 2 drinks were simple coffee. 2 were lattes. The lattes were made and the pastries were done. The barista asked what I was waiting on and I said 2 coffees. She went to get them and the shift supervisor yells across the room that " just wait a minute, when I get time I will get them". Several customers made comments about her lack of professionalism. I told to knock off the adatude. She then preceded to be very disrespectful to me while waiting on other customers. Turn down the music!!!! The music is way too loud. I can't focus or get anything done. Not looking for library, but this is crazy. I've asked management to turn it down, they won't do it. It may be part of a plan to prevent people from staying too long, but honestly, it's not ever very busy. There's plenty of empty tables everywhere. Pretty sick of people being angry/annoyed when they order food or service and it takes longer than expected. If you don't want to risk having to wait 20 minutes for your coffee, make it at home. Want nice baristas, fast service, and well made drinks? Skip this store. I've been to this Starbucks three times and all three times, my drink needed to be remade because the soy milk was not shaken before being poured in my drink, causing those pesky little soy chunks that every barista knows about (I worked at Starbucks for two years and it's a common occurrence with soy). When I asked my drink to be remade, the barista working the bar acted like it was the end of the world. He told me "it'll be fixed in literally 40 seconds", and then proceeded to take another 5 minutes to remake my drink, not even bothering to fill it up all the way. read more

First off let me say, I've worked in the service and restaurant industry for over 25 years. I've seen irate irrational customers looking for a free deal, and I've of course uncountered the majority of very wonderful people and I loved my job. My experience the other day here was nothing short of horrible. The drive thru was naturally packed so my 11 yr old niece and I went inside while my husband and nephew waited in the car. We obediently went in with masks, ordered and several others started coming in for service inside as well. It wasn't terribly long and we had received 2 of the 3 drinks and were waiting on my nephews hot chocolate. In the meantime, 10 to 15 minutes go by and I had pulled down my mask 2 or 3 times to take a drink of my much anticipated machiatto, and also tasted my nieces Frappuccino. All times promptly putting my mask back up. Mind you, every single person in there was well over 6 ft from us!! So my niece, sweet little 11 year old girl decides to also take a sip of her Frappuccino because keep in mind we are still waiting at least 15 to 20 minutes for this last drink all the while ladies who came in AFTER us were getting their drinks. A batista came out of nowhere behind the counter and Yelled at my niece "DO NOT take off your mask!!" Very loud, rude and shocking! My poor niece looked up at me, also shocked and embarrassed! Then of course the little witch must have felt remorseful and if she didn't, she damn well should have, and said sorry but we are just getting more strict" I rose one hand to face her as if I'm done and we walked out. Anyone who saw that and actually thought that was ok, is as insane as the batista. It was inexcusable and horrifying. I understand that restaurants are trying to stay open, I understand keeping folks employed believe me, that was me once. But first off, your level of haste making drinks is inexcusable in itself. Not to mention making drinks out of turn. Its terrible customer service. Then you have the nerve to YELL at a little girl, who's near absolutely NO ONE, but her aunt (cause lord knows we sure as he'll don't wear masks around one another) but don't say shit to me. How about you a. Speed up your process, b. Do orders in order, c. Get more service oriented folks to work for you Starbucks? You know, I actually don't support corporate entities on a regular basis because of this very thing. Not a loss for me. I'll go local. PS: your drive thru SUCKS too! As a Starbucks regular in a different state, I must say that I was very disappointed by the slow, slow service at this Starbucks. The line was out the door and crept at a snails pace. They seemed to be randomly making drinks so members of the same party didn't get their drinks at the same time (or even close). I sent my assistant to this location to get three drinks and four sandwiches. First, my online order was not on the counter we he got there, after asking about it several a times they proceeded to tell him someone must have picked it up. Seriously! Then when remaking the drinks they were out of earl grey tea. I ordered a skinny caramel macchiato. Two of the four sandwiches we ordered they didn't have. Then after an ungodly amount of time he returned. One of the three drinks were right! I will never return to this location! They are a joke! read more

This Starbucks is closed and has no notice for patrons in the drive thru. Numerous cars line up and wait for over 30 minutes for someone to answer the intercom until they drive by and see that no one is there. Their hours are posted for 5:30am-9:30pm. read more

Star Bucks is a great place for coffee. They have really great Iced Carmel Mocheato. They also have amazing cake pops, like their strawberry cake pop and their birthday cake pop. They also have good Lemon Pound Cake. I really recommend this place for their coffee and pastries. read more

It took more than 25 minutes to get to my order after I had paid, the staff were clearly overwhelmed by what appeared to be a normal Saturday crowd. The employee at the register didn't know what they were out of, so after waiting the 25 minutes I was told they were out of what I ordered so I would need to pick something else. read more

They just renovated this Starbucks in the last couples years, so it looks really nice on the inside. However, the parking lot is very hard to get in and out of, especially on a Saturday. Speaking of parking, there's not a lot of it. They share a small parking lot with a few other businesses. I've been here multiple times when the drive-thru line is 8-9 cars deep. Since the exit/entrance is near the drive-Thru, I've often got stuck in the parking lot trying to leave because there's just too many cars backed up in the drivethru blocking the exit. 4-5 years ago I would have given this store 5 stars, but since then, employees seem less friendly and more lazy. My drinks are no longer the high quality I've come to know and it's a hit and miss on if they actually make them right. read more

One observation that is off-putting every time i come in here... I often come at off-peak hours when I am the only customer, or maybe one of two people in the store. I have found that no matter what, the baristas literally yell out my name so loud when my drink is ready, even if I'm standing one foot away and am the only one in the store. This has happened multiple times and I always look around in disbelief and can't help but laugh to myself at this pattern. I've also overheard less than professional conversation going on behind the counter. I don't mind this so much, but I would like to see a little more professionalism in the staff at least keeping their voices down so patron's can't hear their personal conversations. read more

Visiting from Seattle this was not only the worst Service we had in KS but also the worst drink I've had ever at a Starbucks despite two tries. If it weren't for one particular employee, this place would be getting only one or two stars. I ordered three grande Pike's Peak, and one unsweetened iced coffee. My iced coffee came sweetened and they only gave me one of my hot coffees. The place wasn't even really busy, and it is definitely not hard to put coffee in a cup. When I took a sip of my iced coffee and realized it was sweetened, a young-ish guy who appeared to be a shift manager apologized very sincerely and quickly got another barista to get me a new cup of coffee. The second barista did not look happy that she had to do it over, which is absurd, because all she had to do was get a scoop of ice and fill a damn cup with coffee. I could understand her being a little annoyed if they were really busy, and I had demanded that they remake a more complicated drink, but this should've been easy, and I was pointedly very pleasant to them because I've worked customer service my whole life and I know what it's like to deal with a snotty customer. After, I waited patiently for my last two cups of hot coffee to come out- I gave them the benefit of the doubt and assumed they had to brew a new pot of coffee. After a few minutes, the manager guy asked the same sullen barista if I was waiting for anything else. She looked annoyed and just shrugged at him. He then walked over to me and asked if I needed anything else, I told him I was still waiting on two more coffees, and he apologized again and immediately fetched my coffee himself. Seems like this guy is working his butt off trying to raise the standard of the store but is dragged down by a lot of incompetent workers. read more

I was on a business trip this week and left my wallet on the table at this Starbucks location. I didn't realize it for over two hours since I was traveling. Right away I called the store. The employees were so helpful and reassuring. They kept my wallet in the safe until I could get back to town. I was so grateful for the integrity and kindness that each person I spoke with had. I have always stopped at this Starbucks on my business trips and I will continue to do so. Great great people and of course great drinks as well. read more

Went to this particular Starbucks on our way to KC and ordered 2 drinks a grande Americano and a decaf caramel frappuccino with a small ice water. Was told that they don't make Americanos after 12:00 PM (have never heard of this before) and the frappuccino was made as a light drink instead of decaf. I am here now. The blonde lady, and I use the word loosely here, taking the orders and money is being completely sarcastic to every other patron coming through the line. Her customer service needs to be more consistent with all of her patrons. When I asked her about non dairy creamer she was short and told me I would need to go somewhere else since I did not like what was offered. I gave 2 stars only because I had been here before without incident, but this day was a let down. Huge line wrapping around the building for the drive thru so I went inside. They had 1 cashier and it somehow took me 5 minutes to even get to place my order with only 1 person in line ahead of me! I then waited 2 minutes for my order, a venti iced coffee without sweetener, that came out sweetened. They offered to remake it. However, they used the last of the ice brew and didn't have more iced coffee ready so they then had to brew more. Total time in Starbucks exceeded 10 minutes for a single iced coffee, probably one of the most simple drinks. To top it off, the ice had melted within minutes because the coffee was just brewed and was super watered down by the time I even walked to my car. Oh, and when I drove away, I noticed the drive through was then totally empty. I threw my pricey, watered-down coffee crap it in the garbage when I got to work and wished I had went to the local place down the street. What a waste of time and money. read more

I am on a road trip from Illinois to Colorado. While still in Illinois, I bought a Starbucks travel mug. There was nothing wrong with it, but I decided that buying it had been a mistake. This morning, I went through the drive-through at this particular Starbucks, and when I picked up my coffee I asked them to throw out the mug for me. It didn't occur to me at the time that that was a rather rude thing to do; I just wanted to get rid of the mug so that it wouldn't take up space in the car. However, despite the fact that I had bought the mug a different state, they insisted on refunding me my money. It had never even crossed my mind that they would do that. As far as I'm concerned, that is customer service that goes above and beyond what I would ever expect. Kudos to the staff of that Starbucks!!! read more

I don't always get the same experience from one visit to the other. Some times the barista is friendly and quick to serve, while other times I get attitude like the person thinks they are just too good to be working there. Sometimes service is quick, while other times you wonder who is keeping them organized. The location is difficult to get into and out of quickly. The entrance to their parking lot is tight. When traffic is backed up along Wanamaker road, it can be difficult to get to. The drive-in doesn't have a defined avenue except for near the call box. Vehicles can back up in line from two directions, North-South and East-West. When this happens it's almost impossible to get out of the parking lot. The business would benefit by moving to a location that is more accessible. Compared to other Starbucks, I'd say this location is pretty mediocre. The food has been less than impressive. The drinks are made a little too sweet at times. I'm a gold level rewards member and I have to think twice about coming to this location when it is easier to get service at one of the many Starbucks locations inside several Dillons stores in town. read more
