A nice comfortable place, with new furniture and attractive layiut and good options for privacy. I especially enjoy the waters, and cans of flavored high-quality soft drinks. I enjoy the passion tea (in season) and lighting, conducive for work. I used to enjoy going in the evening to talk with staff and exchange ideas on music and the humanities. It's Starbucks. We all have our opinions about it by now. But ..my main complaint today is this: I ordered an almond milk sugar cookie latte. $6.72. See picture for the supposedly at least 8oz drink. More than half ice. It was good, the gals at the counter were ok, one friendly one aloof, but that's ok I don't need to be their best friend. After waiting 20 minutes for my blueberry tea at Ethereal missing my train, and still not receiving it, I slapped a ten on the counter and left. I walked quickly to Starbucks a much smaller but by far friendlier and happier staff. They were crowded as it was the early morning rush, but within six minutes I hade my custom venti drink without coffee nor caffeine for so much less than the much smaller tea I would have gotten at Ethereal. At this Starbuck's people feel welcomed and comfortable. I know most of the staff and managers and they're polite, hard working, fast and efficient. As a freelance writer, many years back I wrote a feature on Starbuck's in The Chicago Reader. While set up for speed and efficiency, there products are very responsibly made, and oif the finest ingredients, so this part be is a given. But this particular location seems to attract such a diverse crowd from artists, musicians, factory workers, designers, employed and retired, it's obvious they are doing something very right. I recommend the grilled cheese which the crew will warm up for you, and their croissants. Be sure to try the guacamole spread, nadw without a single additive, that is so good I sometimes eat with a spoon, although usually in a bagel. The place is lit well, making it easier to read and work. Starbuck's will always be a staple if the historical Square, but one wonders if they should expand somehow, or open another store close by. Both managers are so good at their jobs and I for one, are appreciative of their efforts. I did notice some highly unfair and inaccurate reviews here, that seemed more personal than objective. This Starbucks is conveniently located in the Woodstock Square, which is primarily the reason for 4/5 stars. Otherwise, it's one of the worst locations I've been to based on speed of service and size. There are hardly any tables for sitting down and good luck trying to get work or reading done here. Plus the lines can get absolutely crazy! There are much better Starbucks locations if you're looking for a place to spend some time while sipping coffee. read more

Ordered a caramel macchiato and was given a cup of oat milk when I ordered it with coconut milk, and there was another drink that was missing something when I brought it to the attention of staff there was just no customer service at all never communicated with me the drink was taken forever when I asked him about it. He gave me this little girl attitude. Then when I was walking out, I looked at him to look at his name tag to get his name. When I walked past him he told me I could take a picture of him, if I want. Surprised to find only a lonely two-star review for Starbucks on the square in Woodstock. I am boosting the average with my four-star review. We made what will most likely be a one-time stop here earlier in the summer while visiting in Illinois. While some may bemoan on Starbucks on the square, I found it to be a welcoming beacon. With Starbucks, I know what I am going to get as far as quality of product. My stars for Starbucks go up or down based on the setting and the baristas. This was a large Starbucks with many seating options. Loved the exposed brick wall on the one side which gives this locale more character than most that I frequent in CA. Also a good selection of products, although I still could not find a travel mug I liked. While there was a long line and thus a bit of a wait, but our order was correct. No complaints. read more

I read the first review and thought he may have been wrong on a lot...but there were a couple of flies inside that were annoying. I ordered a cafe latte. I thought it was a sweetened hot coffee. I took one sip and realized my mistake. I cannot drink unsweetened black coffee since it nauseates me. I asked for some sweetener and they said they don't have any. I told them I can't drink unsweetened black coffee without getting sick. They said there's nothing they can do. There was no sweetener they can put in. Even though they do serve other sweetened beverages. I threw away $5 since I couldn't drink it and left it on the counter and walked out. Obviously I will never go back there again. And probably will never use a Starbucks again. I don't use them much anyhow because I find their coffee slightly bitter. Not sure why the rating is so low here. Over the last year I've been frequenting this Starbucks on an almost daily basis with nothing but exceptional service. Online app orders are always on point and ready to grab and go at the far end of the store counter nearest the registers for quick pick up. I really appreciate this little detail that many other Starbucks don't do. It eliminates having to ask for you order and saves you massive time when you're running a bit late. The perfect time to be at this Starbucks is Autumn. Pumpkin spice latte in hand, walk around enjoying the best of autumn in the Midwest. I found employees to be extra friendly and energetic. It is a busy spot on some days, so while it's hard to stay upbeat it makes a big difference to customers. My only issue was the condiment bar that had creamers that had not been changed and were not cold. Always feel the canister to make sure you don't pour spoiled dairy into your drink! read more

The Woodstock Starbucks is and has always been one of the worst Starbucks I have ever been in. Besides a few employees/partners, the staff doesn't smile, make small talk or anything. As I waited for my drink, I watched one of the employees just stand there and talk. Now, yes it was busy and I know it was gonna take some time but I had to guess which drink was mine. I used to work for Starbucks and know what and how you are supposed to do and act. A 15 min wait is just not acceptable! I even watched a customer stomp out and just excepted what drink he was given. I would almost give it a 1 star except the staff was trying their best. The issue I have is the on line/mobile app orders. So, if you go in and see 7 people in line you think... not so bad. When I use the app to order I consistently get the wrong size. Order a Venti and receive a smaller incorrect size. Wouldn't be a huge deal, if their prices weren't already high. Starbucks is a place I expect to get what I pay for. Just seems like a lot of the employees (who admittedly are very nice) really don't know enough to be consisent. Mostly good but not late afternoon today around 5pm.Store ran out of chai (isn't that like McDonalds running out of fries?) so I decided to go with the Oprah chai and ordered extra carmel drizzle and extra hot.
