Wonderful Staff, they were so helpful and Nice! They greeted us immediately and their smiles were genuine. There were many choices of merchandise that not other stores carry. I am a little older but if you're shopping for your child or even grandchild you will find it fun and enjoyable. This was our second visit to this store and had a Great experience both times. We did have a little hiccup on our last visit though. We bought babiators (sunglasses for baby's) but mistakenly the display box which was empty was given to us. We live near Sacramento and didn't find out until we were home and presented them to our daughter in law. We called the store to inform them of this. We understand mistakes happen and they handled it with concern and apologized. They were so Helpful and kind. They owned the mistake and mailed us a pair the next day! Another super cute boutique in Carmel. We popped in here and immediately recognized brands that we usually can only find when we travel to Italy. I was instantly a fan! They have an adorable selection of apparel for NB to kids sizes, shoes, stuffies, accessories, and a notable jellycat selection.we bought a couple dresses for our daughter. Racist AND rude. Came out shopping for the first time since COVID started and seriously what is wrong with people nowadays? Saw cute baby girl bags aka knockoff chanel and gucci, thought they were cute. My daughter grabbed a pink chanel and I took of picture of her holding it. Immediately, a store employee comes over and says no pictures allowed. Fine I respect that. Went back to browsing and was contemplating on purchasing a pink cat shirt for my daughter when another employee comes over "That bag is $58, are you going to buy it?" In my mind im thinking Excuse me? Did I break this item or dirty it because my daughter picked it up? I reply No to her then she contiues to say "Oh you just wanted to take a picture of it? haha" with a smirk. Like seriously WTF. Way to ruin my mood and good job at losing my business. Why did you need to come and tell me the bag is 58 without me even asking? Ive never had any store employee come up to tell me the price then continue to straight out ask me if I was going to buy it. You think I cant afford a $58 kid bag? Lady, I would buy a $6000 real Chanel bag for my daughter. Not a knockoff one from your store. My friend and I browsed the store on Friday, were clearly interested in the clothing, but no one helped us. We asked the staff to assist in finding a size and she said she would help us but kept talking to other customers. I think she assumed we didn't have money and that the other customers did. Possibly a little racism or height discrimination. I even tried to ask another employee for help , who also didn't try to help. I recently visited the boutique to get my daughter clothes quickly because she ran out into the ocean and was soaking wet. Deanna helped me pick something cute, and affordable AND allowed me to come back with her to let her change. She also gave me a bag for the wet clothes. I highly recommend this shop. I visited from out of town today and was greeted and helped by a nice gentleman working there. Some of the local owners aren't as friendly and hands on and it was a pleasant surprise while looking for some neat gifts for my pregnant sister. My husband and I came across this store while on a day trip to Carmel. We have a 4 month old son and it is so hard to find cute baby clothes for him. Star Child has a great selection of high quality baby boy clothing. The fabrics are so soft, I couldn't pass up getting our son a new set of PJ's along with the cutest book and stuffed animal! We even picked up a second book and stuffed animal for our future nephew. If you are in Carmel and have a baby, a friend with a baby, nephew, niece or grandchild, stop by, you won't be able to walk out empty handed. The owner was also very helpful and friendly. My 3 daughters and I happened upon this adorable boutique 4 years ago during a visit to Carmel. Little did I know at the time, that my girls would wear amazing pieces from the store for almost very special occasion that's passed since then. We've had 3 separate amazing staff members help us over the years each of them has been beyond helpful, patient, caring and kind. I actually consider these ladies our friends. Throughout the years and many travels I'm yet to find another children's boutique that consistently provides quality clothing and accessories for my girls for our everyday adventures and our most important special events. The worst customer service ever. Yesterday we went into the store and bought several pieces of clothing. Two minutes after we left the store I realize that two the items were a smaller size. I went in and asked for a bigger size which the woman replied "I told your husband already that we don't have the size" and she told me that she tried it against my baby's back and that it fitted. I told her that it fits too snugged and since they don't have the sizes I wanted to return it. She was incredible sarcastic truly plain rude. She told me that they did not do returns only store credit which was so incredible unfair since we just did the transaction a few minutes earlier. Anyways I decided to let it go and to look around and exchange the items. Even though I did not see anything that I love I took a couple of practical items. When she did the write up for the return she proceeded to tell me that they could not return the taxes I paid and that's it. That's when I lost patience with the sales person I proceeded to ask for the manager or someone who can do the transaction. The sales person was so rude! That's when my husband told the woman that we did not want anything and we were going to return everything. They acted like they were doing us a favor when we bought almost 400 dollars. They lost our business and we had a terrible experience in this store. I don't recommend this store at all. read more
