While it is a very small store it is packed with lots of wonderful clothes and accessories. So many cute winter items. A cashmere scarf I really wanted but I will wait for the end of the December sale. Unique and well made quality clothes. Things are pricey here! Speaking of sales... That is when I do my best shopping with J McLaughlin. Bought a cool blouse and tweed jacket yesterday. Summer and fall items that are gorgeous and on sale. Was not sure if I liked the small fit of the jacket so I ordered a medium and had it sent home so I can try. Easy returns via mail with no charge. The best thing about the Carmel store is the manager, Jessica! She is uber helpful and so sweet. She knows her clothing line also. That is why she is the manager :). One of the most helpful sales people I have run into as of late. Thank you, Jessica, for all your assistance and patience. Pretty cute picture of her I posted hanging in the doorway wearing all her J McLaughlin clothes. The cool thing is I can call her from my home in El Dorado Hills and have her order or ask questions about the items. How cool is that. I am pretty sure you could call her too. Did I mention they are having a 40% off sale right now...

The shops have started to reopen after months of quarantine. When I stepped into Bhody, I saw people had their faces covered with masks, and items were neatly displayed in the store. The Bhody manager and other associates work extra hard to provide a safe and comfortable environment for customers. We are strangers, yet I felt very welcomed and safe during my stay. Our respectful social distance didn't prevent our warm engaging conversation. The staff shared so many interesting things with me. I quickly glanced around the store and immediately noticed a white shirt I couldn't resist to have for this summer. I love it so much and I knew I will get it for myself. I kindly requested the staff to make sure the shirt is safe for me to try on. They are so kind and professional, they told me that every day they use high technology to scan, clean and iron each single item in their store. I tried the shirt and it's such a classic fit. I love the elegant and simple design. The fabric is soft and organic. This white shirt I will cherish forever, and remember that it made me smile in such an unusual year of 2020.
