Nine years ago, we had our backyard completely redone. When the builder was finished with the firepit they used a non-stainless fire ring. Within days it started to get surface rust. The ring worked just fine and did not rust through like some companies have mentioned online but when I decided to upgrade from our original lava rocks to fire glass it was time to go with a stainless fire ring. I had my eyes on Starfire direct for a few years now until I decided it was time to upgrade the fire pit. I emailed Starfire direct with some questions and in less than 24 hours Mari M responded and answered all my questions. Mari was very professional and knows her products, she had excellent communication as I had a few other questions. I ended up purchasing the fire ring and I could not be happier. It looks very well made and the flames it produces are just what I was hoping for. I also believe the flames are a little better as the holes are staggered where my original was just on the top in a straight line. Impressive website and video indicating how they value customers. Our paver contractor ordered the Torpedo Fire Burner and Pan from Starfire Direct via the website on Sunday, Dec 21, 2025 and was advised product would ship in 2-3 days. Product was not received and we went on line again and found the on-line system updated the delivery date to be 12/31/2025. Again product was not received. We reached out and left several voicemail messages because this company does not have an actual real live person answering customer's phone inquiries. Thankfully, Travis eventually returned our phone call and said that Starfire was unaware that their vendor was shut down for 2 weeks during the holiday season and that our order would ship and arrive first week of January. This did not happen. We were then advised via online system that the order would arrive Saturday, January 10, 2026. Product did not arrive until the following week AND they shipped the WRONG product. We left messages again and Travis reached out and said he would contact the manufacturer. I requested that our order be escalated to management and for a manager/owner to contact us and I wanted the manufacturer or Starfire Direct to ship the correct product FEDX P1 at their expense for the poor communication and numerous delays with our order. We purchased a Beton Round Fire Pit from Starfire direct last year; the unit is approximately 17 months old. Recently we pulled the cover off and discovered the paint on the exterior of the unit is peeling off. I filed a warranty claim with Starfire, which was denied because we were outside of the timeframe. The representative offered a repair kit, then stated it only included a touch-up pen which likely wasn't enough to cover the amount of peeling we were experiencing. He suggested I buy a matching paint and sealant and use that to repair it myself. The rep also acknowledged that moisture can get trapped causing the paint to peel; the entire unit is covered in the same manner with the same material. If they know this can happen, then it seems reasonable to expect they'd disclose this at purchase, but I have no record of that. After I left a negative product review on their page, I received four separate emails asking me to revise my review. Over the years, I've had multiple companies cover their products even though they're outside warranty periods because they stand behind their products. We spent $2000+ on this fire pit, plus the cost of their recommended cover. It's covered any time its not in use and after just 17 months it is peeling and chipping. Would not recommend. read more

He was able to get one for me from the shop and mailed to me quickly. They also helped pair my plate with a proper sized burner with hardware to make it work. The valve for some reason was not in my package and with HVAC coming back next week the quickly got one ordered and shipped via FedEx. The fabricator makes wood fire pits, but said it could be adapted for natural gas, and recommended Starfire for the gas connection and burner components. Ideal employee!!! (How could she be a "Junior"? How much better could a "Senior" specialist possibly be?!) I *may* have been that annoying customer with 4 billion (ok, maybe 4.2 billion) questions, but Mari never acted as if I were! I was considering purchasing a firepit from a smaller, family business because I really liked their design and BTUs, but the owner was a nightmare! I couldn't ask questions because she kept telling me the origin story of the company, her challenges, her thought processes, what other people liked, what she thought I should do, etc. She kept interrupting me, but then SHE sounded irritated. So, with that phone call gratefully over, when I couldn't understand Mari Martinez' first text response to me in the chat box on Starfire's website, I almost gave up, expecting working with this company to also be like pulling teeth. AND THEN THIS WOMAN BLEW ME AWAY. Mari was AMAZING! She LISTENED. She either knew every single question I asked, or found out quickly. She followed up with emails, as promised. They were polite, and chock full of info! She said her supervisor, Steven Kinsey, was super busy, and "hoped" that she could reach him... that same day, he and I were speaking (and laughing) on the phone! I could not say enough good things about Mari to him... Starting with HOW much empathy she had while she allowed me to vent about nightmare-lady!! Mari and I LAUGHED together, and then had a clean, fresh slate to start! Mari was patient. She explained everything in plain English, even multiple times. She not only tolerated my indecision, she was completely supportive in participating with helping me make a decision, but was never pushy for a moment! (That was soooo helpful!!!) When I told her about my freakout with the "whoosh!" sound when lighting a match lit fire, she said she had the same even though she works for a firepit company, and we had a great sheepish laugh together! She didn't try to downplay my fear, or convince me how "easy it was" over the phone. After I placed my order for an electronic ignition with her, I visited a store that had a much-newer-than-I-was-used-to match lit ignition, and they taught me in person how to do it well. I then (sheepishly) called Mari back, and she was able to easily and cheerfully change my order and refund me the difference from an electronic ignition. (And she included a free firepit fabric cover to console me from nightmare-lady!) I think she's also fairly young, but speaks with the calm confidence of an expert, and the humble, supportive listening of an elder. Such a rare and true customer service orientation. Ordered lovely copper fire table 7 Sep with estimated 5-8 weeks to ship. Started calling and emailing at week 9. Chat help said they would have someone call me. No call. They said they had to talk to the fabricator. I started calling them and they told me to call Baruch directly. I called and called and finally he got back to me. Said he had confirmed table would ship last week at the end of 11 weeks. Bummer, but hey it's a beautiful piece and it's COVID so delays are to be expected. So during the 11th week I look for an update. No update. I call and email Baruch over and over. Finally he emails me back, "Spoke to our fabricator, and we're still on schedule with your fire pit!" Great. But at the end of 11 weeks no fire table. So I call and email more. Then Steven on their chat says it's scheduled to be completed at the end of the 14th week and will ship out some time after that. Well, i could start calling them in the 14th week and find out it's been delayed more but I decided to cancel my order. Disappointing experience. I ordered a fire ring and it didn't ship for a while, so I called them to get the status. He said they have the product in the warehouse and that they were just behind in getting out the orders. Buyer Beware! If you're considering a glass fireplace and look at reviews first, this company is both not helpful or stands behind their products and accepts zero accountability if you have a problem or issues. Even if you think you have ask all the questions you can think of, there is still some you don't know to ask. The Salesperson we spoke to for over an hour in discussion on the phone, knew of our concerns and questions, telling her of our desires for a design, us purchasing her suggestions of the sizes of glass for the design, we now have issues we were not made aware of, at that time of the phone call order. Now we find out there is a big difference in 1/2" & 1/4" glass, as to air/gas not getting through it creating SOOT, turning our designed Teal/Azuria glass BLACK. After the design is in place, the glass tumbles out so easily, there is no way one would want to spend more money to have the creator of the design, take it out so, as they told us after the fact, "you could wash the glass"! !The realization of that every couple months and redesign it is throwing money literally "DOWN THE DRAIN" Of all the discussion we had, she never mentioned the soot, sizes of glass not working well together or washing the glass because of SOOT! So BEWARE of the issues you don't know to ask about, and find another company to do business with, as this one is not worth the ordeal you go thru!!!. read more
