No one or no company is perfect, but how they handle issues speaks volumes and these guys did it right. ------------------ I called for a routine thing - transitioning my ADHD medication from one state to another following a move. I have been taking this medication successfully, at the same dose, for over 20 years. It's no big deal right? Wrong. After a 30 minute conversation they decided I am possibly not ADHD at all(spoiler: I am), think I may have a completely different condition (that my fabulous therapist of 10+ years and previous psychiatrists missed apparently), and declined to transition my medication unless I was treated for said other condition first(not simultaneously). The fact that this medication is basically required for me to do my job is I guess not that important? I am not upset, but the experience was bizarre, and the priorities were way out of order. It is their right to do so, but it's also mine to record my complaints about my experience.

My wife and I had a fantastic PCP that we have been with for almost 15 years but had to find a new one after moving to the Livonia area. We researched a number of doctors in the area and ended up booking appointments at Better Health Clinic, which has ended up being a great decision. The office is clean and contemporary and we have always been greeted promptly upon entering. The staff are friendly, outgoing, and are always willing to assist. It's obvious form their behavior that they enjoy working for Dr. Hasan, which translates into a good patient experience. Dr. Hasan takes the time to listen to his patients and also asks relevant questions in order to provide the best care. They have Saturday hours on the first Saturday of the month and they accept walk-ins, which is rare nowadays. Overall, my wife and I have been extremely pleased with Dr. Hasan and his staff and can recommend, without hesitation, his office to anyone that may be looking for a PCP.

The entire call took 6 minutes. When he started the call he immediately said "Don't mind me, I'm working on something else". I could not believe that! He had his head down almost the entire time. I had completed 5-6 lengthy forms prior to my visit and it was immediately apparent that he had never even looked at them. He eventually asked me a few basic questions and then said "yes, schedule a sleep test with my team". And that was it. I spoke to his office the next day and told them what happened. They weren't that surprised (which is NOT good). I told them not to charge me for the visit since he didn't have a proper visit with me. They said they would see what they could do. They ended up billing my insurance company $205 for the visit. My insurance company paid $98. My cost is $25. I again called and asked them to write off the $25 since Dr. MacDonald hadn't do anything on our call. The doctor refused so I am stuck paying the $25 and had to go to another sleep doctor and pay for another visit to see if I needed a sleep test. This is the worst I've ever been treated by a doctor in my 50 years. I would NEVER recommend Dr. MacDonald for anything. Be warned!
