Coach Maia and and the other coaches are amazing and helpful. I just completed the 6-week challenge with them and I can guarantee that it is possible if you follow their instructions and work outs. I was able to lose 19 pounds and over 6% body fat in 6 weeks. You also get the support from other people in the gym and that is something I needed in my life. Gym has lot of parking, so that is not an issue. Classes are challenging but not impossible and they will give you alternates so you do you. They have all the equipment needed for each class. I recomend you to go check it out. Thank you Coach Maia and to all the other coaches for your support.

An incredible group of trainers! The most well thought out programs for daily classes. Clean and organized. They are so personal. Excellent boundaries! I paid for individual training and that took me to a whole other level of progress. At first it's hard, but then they call you! to do what you can. Maia is so special with her vibes and energy. Yuki is funny and motivating in a way that just makes you forget the sore. Mirenda is energetic and patient. Steven is in your face and perfectionist about form love them all!! It's worth it. Special in a way when you just have no idea where to start.

I went to a Yelp Event at the The Worx By Maia on 5/17/15. I am a bit of gym rat and was familiar with some of the activities (e.g. TRX, burpees) that Maia (the owner), trainers and her volunteers (for the event) had me do. That being said the work out introduced me to some new activities (I had seen but had never done) like pushing a very large tire or swinging ropes. The gym is very convenient to where I live (and happy Yelp introduced me to it). I liked the fact that the gym offers in addition to traditional circuit training other classes like P9X (which I plan on trying at a later date). The gym is in an industrial area which is perfect for this "cross fit like" gym. Parking is also plentiful; and, although I did not take the metro I think you could walk to it from the station. I can't speak to this personally from what it means to be enrolled in one of their programs but from what I saw and experienced at the Yelp event; it is a great gym if you're new to fitness or are working to lose weight. It is a very supportive environment (which you could tell from the trainer I worked with (e.g. we got high fives everytime we completed a circut). The personalization and variety of the circuit training (exercises) was also very good. The majority of the cardio activities are not done on equipment but rather using your own body (e.g. running in place, suicides). As an individual who is into fitness, I think this is really great. Although equipment is useful, a lot of people will use not having equipment as an excuse for not working out. I loved when Maia said "the goal is to just keep moving". I truly believe in this. (I am that person who will park further away from a store to force myself to walk and get some exercise.) In a nutshell a really good gym with motivating staff that challenges you and keeps you accountable when it comes to incorporating exercise into your daily routine.

A girlfriend suggested I join her for a bootcamp-like workout session at the Worx because her boyfriend was teaching the Tuesday evening class. I was a bit skeptical at first, having gone to a different "bootcamp" gym in Fairfax a few months ago which ended up being the most useless session of my life. But not the case here. They really challenge and push you to your limits for the one hour that you're there. There are people of all shapes, sizes, and backgrounds but everyone is equally motivated/hard working--making the environment so fun and pleasant! It makes the workout less intimidating and you go at your own pace to do the best that YOU can. There is no judgment and down talk here. The teacher and other coaches really guide you to ensure that your technique/form is correct so that you stay on the right track. The actual session was split into six stations of alternating group work so everyone motivates and encourages one another and the variations of the different workout stations allows you to really target different areas of your body. They also play really good, upbeat music which is an added bonus. Your first class is free and if you bring three friends, you get three classes for free. I believe it's $5 per session, but they also have monthly plans available. They have class times in the morning, afternoon, and evenings to cater to everyone's needs. A good challenge, positive and friendly people makes for a great workout environment-- I surely had a great time!

Are there multiple contract options? How much are they?

Yes, you would need to set an appointment to discuss what option works best for you😉 Alison is great and will be happy to talk to you about options. Carol

I'm curious about the price. The gym looks good and I just purchased a groupon deal but I dont see anywhere online about how much this gym costs a month. Can someone let me know the cost?

You'll have to come in and speak to Maia about pricing.

Tried signing up with the free 3 day pass to try the gym and got an email with a QR code and then was forced to set an appointment time to tour the gym which I set up. Then when I get to the gym I mentioned that I was here for a tour of the gym I had to do but they just ignored me as I stood there for a few minutes until they asked if I needed help scanning into the gym. The employees at the desk then told me that they don't actually participate in the pass program even though it listed as directly from their location's site. After reading other reviews on google it's obvious that this has been a thing for over a year where they won't honor the pass that they themselves are distributing. The employees then tell me they can get me on a full membership or a $20 day pass which isn't really a "day pass" since they don't send you anything that shows its good for the day or for the next 24 hours. It's just for you to walk in right then. Not wanting to leave and give up a chance to work out when I already drove all the way down there plus making it awkward I just agreed to get a day pass. After going downstairs I noticed that while they do have a lot of equipment around a lot of it is in disrepair or is extremely old and missing things. Attachments for cable machines just lying randomly around the floor, dumbbells strewn around everywhere, dirty wipe cloths littering the floor and draped on half the machines. The place was very dirty and they have just one poor woman trying to clean the entire gym. Even more so as a health concern there were almost no supplies to clean and wipe down equipment after use with there being only one stocked wipe dispenser in the ENTIRE gym. People aren't going to clean after themselves if you make it so difficult to do so but as a result it's just asking for ringworm transfer or something along those lines. The only water fountains are broken and don't even have the buttons you need to activate them. Vending machines broken, equipment broken, and the gym just tapes a piece of paper on the side saying "repairs scheduled." The locker room was gross and had a nasty, musky mildew smell. TLDR: The worst gym I have ever set foot in so far. I feel scammed out of my money and the whole place is in a gross state of cleanliness and disrepair. Turned me off of ever going back to a LA fitness again in the future.

I googled it and it seemed decent, so I purchased a little three-menbership to use after Christmas. Getting the membership online was super easy, and the gym was very easy to access through the app. And the app itself is probably the easiest and most user-friendly gym app I've ever used. Points Pure Fitness! Those little cylinders get a little tight when you're entering, but you're only in there for a few seconds lol. The gym itself is a little on the smaller side, but it uses the space REALLY well. I love that they've got roadmaps of where everything is in the gym posted both outside and inside the gym, so it's very easy to find what you might be looking for. There's plenty of cardio equipment, plenty of machines, and multiple free weight areas, as well as squat racks, powerlifting platforms, Smith Machines, and a couple of bench press stations that can also double as squat racks. There's a nice little turf with sleds, battle ropes, and stationary tires. They also have a nice stretching/abs area, that also has multiple standing punching bags, which was really cool - I didn't use them on these first two visits, but I definitely will whenever I come back! The strength and cardio machines are Matrix machines, which I'm not the biggest fan of personally, but they absolutely still get the job done. And that's purely a personal preference as an experienced lifter and trainer, but it wouldn't/shouldn't inhibit anyone's experience at all. If I had to name any cons, it would probably be these two relatively minor things: -The layout takes a little bit of getting used. There doesn't really seem to be a pattern to how the machines are set up, legs and upper body machines mixed and in random places, but once you get used to it, it's fine. And the cleaning stations and trash/recycle receptacles are sometimes oddly placed, to where you may be right next to trash can, but have to walk a little ways to find a cleaning station, or vice versa. But we're all there to get a little extra cardio, too, right? Lol. (I also do appreciate that they have recycling stations, too.) -The locker rooms are mostly pretty clean, and there are plenty of showers, that mostly seem to be fairly clean, as well, and they're nice and spacious. I always shower and change after my workout, so that's appreciated. But the bathroom area was pretty filthy on both of my days there. I know that's kind of par for the course for 24-hour facilities, but on back to back days during the week, I feel like I saw the same filth spots in the bathroom area. Though on my second day, the cleaning guy was in the locker room cleaning in the afternoon, so that was great to see. And the rest of the gym seemed very clean, which I absolutely loved. Neither of these are enough to dock any stars, though. Overall, I really enjoyed my experience at Pure Fitness Springfield. I didn't really interact with any of the staff there, but other reviews seem to have very glowing things to say about them, so I'll take their word for it. And the trainer I saw on Friday seemed to be very engaged with his clients, which was cool. Northern VA is home for me, so whenever I come back, this will absolutely be my gym of choice. And if I ever move back long-term, I will definitely sign up for a full long-term membership and make this my home gym. Thanks for a great experience, and I'll be recommending you to all of my friends and family in the area! :)

I must say, I am pleasantly surprised!…read more This LA fitness location is by far one of the better locations in the DMV. I stumbled on this gym after stopping to the Springfield Mall to pick up an online order from the nearby Target. Since I was out doing weekend errands anyway and had the gym on my list of "to-do's", I figured why not stop here for a quick workout. From the beginning, I walked in and was immediately greeted by staff. The location was very open and clean, with tons of equipment and exercise machines everywhere. It is split between two levels, with the main entrance including a lounge area and most of the exercise equipment on the second level. Talk about a gym junkie' play ground. This is it all packed in a semi-small floorplan and footprint, but at the same time a well planned-out gym and layout. I consider myself a somewhat heavy lifter (375 lb Bench and up to 80lb Dumbells) and not only did they have all the weights I needed, they had a few surprise things I wasn't expecting such as CrossFit equipment and a well equipped indoor HITT training area....in addition a full basketball court! Another pet peeve of mine is clean locker rooms, a gold star for this location and clean as expected. Oh! And, let's not forget a lap pool for swim enthusiast. In all, you cannot beat this location for all the amenities that they have. Initially, the gym appears small at first glance until walk to the main lookout floor on its lower level. It is here that you can find any and everything you need to have a productive workout and change things up every now and then. The only two drawbacks that I noticed about this gym was the broken sauna and the parking which can get tight....because it is shared with the mall parking. If only I lived closer, this would definitely be my gym!
