Absolutely NO English spoken. I was asking for matching dip nail polish with pedicure polish. They had no idea what I was asking for. They somehow thought I brought my own polish in my purse. When they gave me two colors, they were totally mismatched. One was hot pink and one was red with sparkles. I was so confused. My toes were done with one coat.. she then moved on to the next customer without telling me while I sat there wondering what was going on. When somebody else finally started my "dip nails ", he actually painted the dip on so it took about three minutes per nail. Took a long time to get out of there. I would not recommend this place that I would never go there again. You need to be able to speak with the people that you're working with. No English is not acceptable. read more

I don't usually do reviews. I wanted to prevent others from dealing with what I am dealing with NOW! I went for a pedicure a few days ago. NOW I have athletes foot. My feet burn & itch like crazy. The place appeared to be clean. But if they don't sterilize their equipment and tubs with jets for your feet properly you'll end up with something you don't want. I will never go back to any of those place. I'm disappointed & mad. STOP & DO THE RIGHT THING & STERILIZE!! read more

I walked in here with long nails, I wanted almond shape on my natural nail. They filed off all the length of my nature nails, didn't ask how long I wanted them and cut then without asking. Then they called this shape almond. My nails are extremely thick, short and completely uneven. I will not be coming back here, easily the worst my nails have ever been done. They put several layers on and destroyed my natural nails. I walked in with previous nails off and they ripped them off & damaged my natural nails too. read more

My visit here was my first. I was recommended by someone I worked with who also had nice gel nails. I walked in early and was seated immediately. The place looks kind of outdated in comparison to other salons but it was clean. The workers were really nice and efficient. I got gel manicure and basic pedicure. While getting my pedicure another technician came and did my gel nails. So I was done in a nice timely fashion. Cost $50. I love how well they shaped my nails and the gel lasted about a week and half before any sign of chipping which is about the norm for me due to my job. I can see myself returning again read more

I used to go here all the time and it was well priced and close to my house. I recently stopped going because the last 3 times I've been I've been completely dissatisfied with my nails and the waxing room is dirty with the same wax stick re-dipped into the wax!!!! GROSS!!!! I had a fill last week and I took my nails off myself this week because they are lifting and I asked for round and the shape was terrible. After I had my nails done I went home and cut the tops off just to make the shape look better. So now my nails are square. I'm so disappointed, I spend my hard earned money here for bad service, long waits, and inexperienced nail techs. Stop rushing and learn! Your customers money is just as valuable as yours! Took my great niece here for her birthday and it was terrible!!!! The nail tech Ha-Hong cut her cuticles with the file, let the dremel-type sander get way too hot on her nail, glued her acrylics to her skin and applied the wrong sized nail. Fabulous! Tran is fast, knows WHAT SHE IS DOING, and her work is beautiful. I stopped by on a whim, while out running errands. 10 days prior to my visit, I went to NY Nails for my first full set in several years. Perhaps the man was having a bad day, it happens. But, my nails shouldn't have looked like they did by the 5th day. I'm too busy to go back to have him fix it, and I didn't wanna make him upset. I went to Starlight 2, right at opening. I told Tran a bit about my nails. It's like she knew what I wanted and just fixed them exactly like I wanted. I also got a soothing hand and arm massage. I found the one for me. I really hate doing this and to leave a review since the owner/manager is so kind and respectful. All staff is also friendly. It's just really sucks because the last two time I went the lady cut me pretty deep and she was hurting me with the nipper. Even the other time I went it was a different lady and the color wasn't matching. Here we are 5 months later I went back since it's close to where I live and very convenient; the lady seems to be new. She cut my nails wayyyyy to short and cut the sides of my nails that is now hurting. My nails are uneven when she cut it and the nail polish wasn't properly applied. I gave them chance for the 3rd time and give them the benefit of the doubt but left with disappointment. And the foot spa should have a plastic cover so other peoples won't get germs from others. My legs are also itching and I know for the fact it's not from the scrub since my other tech use a similar scrub. This place just need more experience tech and a cleaner environment. Maybe a one week of deep cleaning the salon and make a plan to improve what they're lacking in this salon. I mean this with no harm but maybe with my review this businesses can improve and gave them ideas. read more

This is my usual salon for my pedi and for the most part have been pretty well satisfied. Last time I was in, when I got ready to put my shoes on to leave, I had no shoes !! The customer who had been sitting next to me had stolen my nice red flip flops !! The tech who had helped this woman apparently helped put the shoes on the thief's feet and let her walk away with my shoes, leaving me with no shoes to wear to my car. Imagine my dismay !! I left my name and number so I could express my displeasure to a manager but they never called me back. Very bad experience for me. read more

I got a full set here & I was not impressed. It took the girl a long time to do my nails, I walked out with my nails MUCH longer than I asked for, but after she didn't understand me the 3rd time I cut my losses & figured I would cut them down at home. Most of their polishes are drugstore brands, not too many OPI or China Glaze polishes, which was disappointing. I got my nails done Tuesday & it is Saturday and there is already room for a fill. My nails aren't even, there are ridges in the acrylic, oh and they cut me twice. They also tried to act like they remembered me (this was my first and only visit) so I would spend more money. Decent experience, but not the best. I went in to get a basic manicure (cost was $12). I suppose you get what you pay for with such a low price. The finished product has bubbles all over the topcoat, streaky application of the polish, and I had to ask my nail tech to redo two of my nails because they had bumps where she left globs of extra polish. She also cut my hand while she was fixing my cuticles (she didn't say anything so I didn't even notice until I saw blood pooling in my cuticle). My hands were so incredibly dry when she was done because of all the acetone she used on just two nails. I have had pretty positive experiences with this salon in the past, so I'm not sure if expired products or a bad tech are to blame. She kept adding acetone to the polish to make it usable, which makes me think that it is very old. For $12, it was pretty good, but I wish that she had taken her time instead of rushing to get my manicure over with. In the past, I've always been more satisfied with my pedicures from here than my manicures, so maybe find another salon to do your hands. read more

I'm military and I've been stationed in Pensacola since July2014. I had acrylic nails when I first got here and tried another place and stayed away from Starlight because of the reviews. However, I didn't like my results from the place that was ever so popular not to mention they were expensive! So after almost 8 months of no acrylic I decided to come to Starlight and just get a manicure. I figured if I didn't like my nails it'd be okay because I didn't spend too much money. Well I loved it! Nancy did my nails then and STILL does now! She really takes the time to please and learn what you like. I traveled back home on leave and had my nails done and didn't like them and they were too thin so I ended up cracking a nail. I went to Nancy yesterday and she knew exactly what to do. She fixed my nails with no problem and got them looking pretty again. Another lady, which I can't remember her name, just that she wears glasses, did my toes and she did a really good job! I will continue to go to Starlight and remain a customer of Nancy's the rest of my time in Pensacola! read more
