The service is bad, I have seen people with appointments get over looked and wait longer then a walk-in. They will skin you and will not slow down or say sorry n over charge you. I have tried this place 2 times thinking the first time was just a bad day..NOOOOOOTTTT!! Both of my thumbs are fucked up bubbles n gel nail polish n now peeling off. Frustrating, went for pedi/mani- Charged gel price for regular mani. Was told no difference in price. Cut all my nails super short. You can't chose color when you go in. they have a template to pick from. When I decided on color was told it wasn't available. Usually when you leave a place after mani/pedi you feel pretty! Opposite here, frustrating and I won't go back. Not very clean either. read more

I been going to this Salon for about 9 years and I Love it ! so much that i was out of town and had them done by someone else and couldn't wait to get back so that I could soak them off and get my nails done right. over the years I notice their prices shot up. either way they still do an excellent job. First off, this place is not in the best neighborhood. I was in there for about 2 hours (way way too long for an acrylic set) The salon itself is very outdated and borderline falling apart. Prices were normal. I did hear a lot of girls commenting on the specific ability of these techs to do awesome nail art. This made me hopeful so I showed a tech a picture that I was hoping to replicate. Didn't exactly turn out the same. Was somehow convinced into doing gel polish on top of my ACRYLICS after saying no multiple times. It wasn't bad enough not to go back but EH. read more

Do not go here. They threw in hidden fees at the end and left my nails unfinished. It's been less than a week and the gel is chipping and the nails aren't smooth or well-shaped. I would never go back or recommend this place to my friends. read more

literally have gotten my nails & feet done here like 3-4 times and never had a problem, until today lol. this woman literally got upset because my nails were bumpy and too short because she didn't even ask me if the length was okay before she just started cutting them all and i asked her to fix them . literally just said i wanted them longer, even said sorry for the inconvience and wanted to avoid the "mad black woman" role and all she said was "ill just cut them and you can go" wit a whole ass attitude like girl. anywho, she rudely cut the ends of my nails off and i politely got out my seat and let her know that i had still wanted my nails done, just adjusted to how i asked her to do them & there wasn't no reason for a attitude. read more

My acrylics ended up looking really nice for a decent price. 27$ for a full long set. The reason I gave it 3 stars is because they took a long time. It shouldn't take 2 hours to get plain solid color acrylics. The lady who did my nails kept leaving me for like 15 minute breaks? They also made me take off my nail polish by myself? I thought they were supposed to take it off for you. This maybe happened because the salon was kind of full at the time and I totally understand if I have to wait a little bit, but at the same time they should find a better way to take care of their customers when that happens. read more

Inexpensive spot to get my nails done (at least on Mon-Wed when they have a sale). Not too thick, made em skinny and not wide like I asked, my only problem was they didn't know what to charge and were making up prices in their head when it came to designs and such but it still wasn't as expensive as some other places. I forget the lady who did my nails but she was really good and sits right up at the front. Also, it didn't take very long at all. Def recommend. read more

Friday, 8/5/21 - This was my first time to Starlight Nail Salon today because my aunt-in-law suggested to go there because this nail tech Nikki knows how to do all designs and she is Starlight top nail tech, so I gave it a try. This nail tech Nikki realllllllly needs to learn about customer service because she knows nothing. I took her my nail design to her and asked her do she knows how to do the design I wanted. Nikki stated she do. Nikki also had a co-worker assist me as well, I did not get her name but she did my pedicure very well. She took time to "Look" at the design I wanted and she did it just right on my big toes and she got finished. Now it was time for Nikki to do my fill-in. I open my phone to SHOW her how "I" wanted my nail. Nikki sat there and did not look at my design at all. First she tried to put a line straight down on my thumb and I just happen to look at it. I had to let her know the design design does not have that on the picture, so she had to take it off. I told her to look at the pictures, she did not. Then she sat there doing her own thing on my nails. Nikki was had gotten to my 3rd nail and I look up again and there she does putting on my nail some colorful ass diamonds, which again it's not HOW the nail picture look like. Nikki should have put clear/silver diamond on my nails just as her co-worker listened to me (the customer). And that what it about "the customer"! Nikki asked me do I wanted she to change them, I have to say no because I was pressed for time and had to go to work. So no I id not have time or her to pull all the diamonds off she ad put on. Nikki made no effort in trying to lower the price and now I have paid $133 dollars on some shit I do not like. I made a complaint to the owner Bea and all she did is gave excuses to what Nikki lied to her about. Bottom line - LISTEN TO YOUR CUSTOMERS! they are the ones can make or break your business. I guess Nikki have been taking charge with doing her own things on customers nail, she just got use to it and others went with it or agreed with her. Unfortunately, I have to be the one who wanted what "I" wanted because I'm paying for it.......NOT WANT NIKKI WANTED. Somebody PLEASE teach NIkki and Bea about CUSTOMER SERVICE. SMH read more

Well, you get what you pay for. $10 manicure is too good to be true. Plus $3 for gel polish removal. I needed a place to take my gel polish off and paint regular polish so I looked on Yelp. This place had 4.5 stars (at the time) and 2 reviews. I was a little iffy on going to a place with only 2 reviews, but I figured what the heck, yolo. It was near by and they closed at 7:30pm, which was great since my client for the week had kept me at work until 5:30. And I needed my nails done stat -- the previous gel polish was peeling around the edges and looked awful. That's about all that is good about the place, that they are open late. When I walked in, two employees were already working on two other customers. One employee yelled back for someone to come out and assist me. I looked for a polish color while the third employee took a little bit to come out. Finally she came out and had me sit. She started out by trying to take my polish off with polish remover. After a few nails, she realized it was gel and switched to the drill. She missed a spot on one nail so the previous polish was still showing. I kept my mouth shut because I figured it would be covered by my new polish but still. Shoddy work. Everything was normal until I accidentally smudged a nail when moving my hand to the fan. She fixed the polish on my nail but neglected to wipe the polish smudge off my finger. I kept my hands in front of the fan and figured I would mention it when she came back to check on me. While I was waiting for my polish to dry, she moved to work on another customer's pedicure. Before and after working on that customer's feet, she neglected to wear gloves or wash her hands!!!!!!! Nasty!!!!!!! Definite health code violation!!!!!!! She touched my hands directly after and I did my best not to look grossed out. I pointed out the smudge, which she wiped off, and had her fix my pinky polish because it had a diagonal by my nail bed instead of a natural curve. During this, she got turquoise nail polish from her hand (from the other customer) on one of my black nails. -_- I had her fix that too. I sat in front of the fan for a little while longer and she disappeared to the back of the salon. She never came back to check on me again and I didn't want to wait any longer, so I just left. absolutely love this place, I live in New Tampa and travel all the way there to get everything done, I refuse to go anywhere else, the staff always remembers me, the staff is always the same, no turnaround employees, I have been coming here for about 5yrs and i always leave happy. and for those other comments about the neighborhood....really.....no bueno.....i love this place and will continue to go there. read more
