Very excellent business to order reconditioned pianos from! We are extremely pleased and glad we didn't chose from a random single individual. The piano we ordered was shipped with care inside our house by the owners themselves, and they had the further courtesy to even test and install it while also explaining the specifics of our model and how to utilize everything (such as plugging in and explaining the temperature humidity control system, the petals and how to utilize them such as pushing one of them down then left to make it quieter, opening lid etc). We are ABSOLUTE beginners so we appreciated every single information they gave us even if others may find it obvious or common sense. To future pianists (or if you already are one) looking for a good pre-owned piano in Cali, they definitely get a 5 stars from me. The owners, Andrew & Bryan, without a doubt have a deep respect for the art of pianos shown by their skill (they played inside our house during the testing), care/reconditioning (the pre-owned pianos go through a thorough check by them which includes tuning and cleaning so you don't have to go through the hassle. There's other things they do as well in part for the reconditioning but I know most people look at tuning first when it comes to maintenance, just visit their website for more information), and their excellent customer service. I finally reached a point in my career where I needed an excellent instrument at home for both coaching and my own concert prep, but a grand wasn't logistically feasible in our space. I spoke to Andrew about the kinds of things I was looking for in a piano and he arranged for me to come down and play a number of possibilities, even some that were mid-restoration in their workshop! The 1867 Steinway proved to be the perfect fit - it looks and sounds BEAUTIFUL and is the perfect amount of piano for our house. I also have to mention that they did some last minute adjustments to the action per my request, and also bravely fielded some tight Victorian stairways to get the piano moved in. Honestly, I rarely leave reviews or comments but it's what I wanna do this time . Anyway, I was searching upright pianos for my daughter a while. One day , I saw a KAWAI upright on internet so I try to contact the seller and want to make an appointment taking a look. I need to say , from Andrew's response through email has already made me feel " It could be the right place !". After visiting their place , Andrew show me that KAWAI piano and all the details , also, Bryan played music by that KAWAI one (Bryan's play was very touching) and let me know the sound ( I can't play piano). By the time, they also show me other pianos too, at the meanwhile, one Baldwin antique piano really caught my eyes but depends on what I need and my room's setup , I still go for KAWAI one . Totally I spent around an hour there and they generously gave me many information , knowledge and suggestions, especially the beautiful playing sounds by Bryan and Andrew. I definitely felt the passion , profession they have about pianos and the honesty they do , no grey area . Besides that, they help you to deliver piano and tune it . How wonderful is that ! Starlight pianos was great to work with. I purchased a Yamaha M1 piano, which delivered in near mint condition, both aesthetically and sonically. Andrew, the owner, was always communicative and responded to any of my questions the same day they were asked. The piano was originally listed with a bench I wasn't fond of. I let Andrew know I would really appreciate if we could replace it with a nicer, better matching bench, and he sourced and replaced the bench at no extra cost. That's the definition of quality service. I would highly recommend utilizing Starlight if you're looking for a used piano. The used piano market can be quite scammy and hard to navigate, but luckily, there are a few trust worthy shops. This is one of them. We had a great experience with Starlight Pianos - a warm, friendly, and knowledgable family-owned business offering quality pianos in tip top condition. Definitely recommend! My daughter has been playing piano for a few years and it was time for us to upgrade to an acoustic piano. We were looking for a good quality used piano on Craiglist, but I was always worried that we might have issues with it after the sale and wasn't quite sure how we were going to get it home. To be on the safe side, we'd probably have to get a piano technician to check out the piano before we made any purchase and get piano movers to do the move... Then I saw the listing from Starlight for a beautiful Baldwin Hamilton.
