The service dept advisors are excellent. I tried to be more local. Not too helpful in Melbourne.

We researched exactly what vehicle we wanted, which Starling showed as being available and for sale (and still does) on its website. We drove the hour there only to be told that vehicle wasn't there as it was used as a courtesy/loaner, AND GMC wouldn't even allow it to be sold until it had at least 3,000 miles on it. They were happy to try to sell us a higher model $10,000 more than what we were shopping for, insisting it was so much nicer. We 100% planned on buying the vehicle they showed online as being available, but now we'll never shop there again. Oh! We did purchase a new vehicle today - the exact specs we wanted - at a different dealer. We had an AMAZING experience there and will be sharing both that experience, as well as the horrible Starling experience, with friends and family. read more

Let me start off by saying we have normally went to Starling Orlando and had a phenomenal experience. I can't say the same for St. Cloud Starling. I have always been the biggest supporter of Starling Chevrolet. We have purchased all of our vehicles from Starling. Recently my car broke down conveniently by Starling and I trusted that I could leave my car here for a honest diagnostic. I just surpassed my warranty for my vehicle so nothing was covered. They were very timely at checking my car and finding out the issue. What astounded us was their $250 diagnostic fee. That is truly unscrupulous. This fee is supposed to be included in the final cost of your sale. If you decide to do the work elsewhere you are still responsible to pay this hefty fee. That's truly the most insane and price gauging I have ever heard. Most retailers do not charge this much. They were very unorganized... we were first told roughly $1200 for 1 ignition coal, 4 plugs and throttle body cleaning. Is this some kind of joke? In what world do they think taking advantage of loyal customers with this price gouging is acceptable? Somehow the advisor helping us (Delores) told us three different quotes. It somehow settled to roughly $720 but then we received a call from someone else (Henry) with a higher quote. Again... this is unacceptable. Are your prices not concrete? Do you just decided how your going to con innocent people, desperate for their vehicle? Now for the negligence. When we decided we would do the work ourselves, because yes... this work cost less than $300 we were astounded by the lack of professionalism by Chevrolet Starling. Not only did they leave our engine cover unscrewed.... But they also told us the wrong coal for replacement. Which lends us to believe they moved it around to figure out which was faulty and never put it back. When Delores returned our car to us. She did kindly warn us that the car drove rough "no duh" but she failed to warn us that the cover was left off our engine and the hood wasn't even shut. This could've been really dangerous for any driver, especially a unknowing driver. Lastly, if you are going to charge for the diagnostic fee, the least you can do is have your porter bring the car presentable. We purchased this car from Starling. They could've at the very least washed or vacuumed our car as a courtesy for being loyal customers and having previously got our car with Starling but they couldn't even do that. Do better Chevrolet! This is unacceptable service. We will not be coming back here. I really truly believe that right thing to do after this experience was refund the diagnostic. This is both unprofessional and dissapointing. We will not be referring friends and family here anymore. read more

I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience with Starling Chevrolet has been extremely disappointing. I've been communicating with Timothy Krebs, the general sales manager. My sales consultant Geramel was fantastic to work with. I received a verbal promise from Timmy to get some assistance for the repairs, and instead of working with me to find a fair solution, my request was completely denied. There was no willingness to assist in any capacity, despite the fact that these problems surfaced less than two months after purchase. I purchased a lightly enjoyed Audi S5 from Starling Chevrolet because of the dealership's reputation and what I believed was a commitment to standing behind its customers. Less than 60 days after purchasing the vehicle, I was faced with more than $10,200 in repairs. While my extended warranty covered a portion of the claim, I was still left with thousands of dollars in uncovered expenses for issues that surfaced almost immediately after taking ownership of the vehicle (some were pre-existing issues inaccurately disclosed on the bill of health). I understand the vehicle was purchased as-is, and I was not asking Starling Chevrolet to cover the entire repair bill. I simply asked for a reasonable goodwill contribution toward the labor costs--approximately $1,600--given how soon these major issues arose after the sale. What disappoints me most is that I chose to buy from Starling Chevrolet because of its reputation. I believed I was purchasing from a dealership that valued long-term customer relationships and would stand behind the vehicles it sells. Had the dealership shown even a small amount of flexibility or goodwill, I would have viewed this situation very differently. Unfortunately, the message I received was clear: once the paperwork is signed, the customer is on their own. My experience has been costly, frustrating, and disappointing. Based on what I have gone through, I would strongly encourage anyone to fully understand what support, if any, will be available after the sale. read more

If you're looking to purchase a specific vehicle, don't waste your time working with these folks. Their website shows several options available for the exact vehicle in which we are interested but (as many other reviews point out) the vehicles aren't available once you drive all the way there. On December 15, I took my pick up truck for a cooling system that only pay 1.5 hours so I figured it out 2hours 2 1/2 maybe it took them from 945 to 2 o'clock when I left the dealer what is unbelievable but guess what my daughter have a Chevy car two need the same thing cooling system you know antifreeze whatever I took it this morning what is today is 26 December almost at the same time 945 I went in there at 12:30 and they told me maybe another hour and a half so they called me at 1:45 telling me to pick it up and I live in Winter Park trying to give business to some people or some dealers and this freaking people do not appreciate it so guess what they aren't going to see my ass anymore in there. read more

I got a oil Change from Starling Chevrolet in St. Cloud. The next day I went to work when I came home I found big puddles of oil all over my driveway. I opened my hood and saw my oil cap sitting under my hood and oil sprayed all over my engine and hood. I am trying to sell my house and I scrubbed my driveway trying to get these oil stains off and they won't come out. Worst experience. How do you not put a oil cap on a car after you do a oil Change it's your only job is to work on cars. read more

I had my oil changed and tires rotated today. I was told it would take 1 1/2 hours but it ended up being almost 2 1/2 hours. I could have done the work myself in half the time. I waited in the waiting room but instead of the service rep letting me know the car was ready he texted me. He couldn't just walk over and tell me. The rep said to come back in six months because I drive less than 7500 miles a year. My service manual says to come back in a year unless the car alerts me to come back sooner. I feel like they just want more money rather than following the manufacturer guidance. When I left they had me blocked in so I had to wait for them to move cars around. Good customer service is hard to find. Don't go here if you're looking for that in my opinion. I will only go back if it's a warranty item. read more

Worse Chevy Dealership EVER! I am a lifetime Chevy guy so when I moved to Saint Cloud I gave Starling a shot when I bought a new car in 2014. Getting them to honor their service commitments was challenging and the staff was never friendly. In 2018 I came back to buy another car but they would not honor the details we discussed prior to my appointment. Then they gave me this young kid as a salesmen who knew nothing about the car. When I asked for a different sales rep the sales manager came out and was not very friendly so I left. Went to the other Starling Chevy on OBT and got the car I wanted at the deal I wanted. I had to go back to this dealership to get my extended warranties cancelled and refunded and they gave me the run around that required me to come back 4 different times before they finally got all the paperwork done. The service department here is absolutely atrocious. Even though you call and give them info and make appointments when you show up they dont seem to have any of the info and often show no record of your appointment. Then they either dont have the service tech available to do the work you need, or they 'dont do that', or they are so backed up that even the simplest service requires that you leave your car longer than expected. On top of that they do not report your service visits so your Carfax report does not show that you have been performing scheduled maintenance. This morning I had made an appointment to take my wife's Camaro in to get a quote on some rear end work. When I called to make the appointment they said it would not take more than a couple of hours. I went in this morning for the appointment, again they did not know what I needed and said I would have to leave the car until Monday (4 days!) if I wanted them to do the diagnostic check. Every couple of years I go back there to give them a shot and they break my heart every time. Never again. Stay away. read more

In addition to handling the tire issue he went the extra mile to save me money. Then ever the gentleman he walked me to my car and took care of a problem with interior lights I was having. I was dreading having to go into a dealership because of my previous experiences: spend all day, deal with pushy aggressive sales people, have my time wasted, etc. But YOUSEFF and the team at Starling provided the exact opposite.' This was my first stop, test drove and got some info but still needed to shop around. Youseff actually ENCOURAGED me to, had no gimmicky sales tactics to keep me there, and established himself as an authoritative resource for information and assistance with the process. I mean seriously, thank you so much for just being cool and transparent during the entire process. But then, the dreaded process of "going to finance". Great... time to get upsold on a bunch of things I don't need and add a couple hundred bucks to my monthly payment, right? NOPE! Finance was just as transparent with us, even advising us on the options we DIDN'T need to customize the best deal. This place is outrageously overpriced quoted me $706 to replace a coolant reservoir. The diagnostic was $174 and another $16 for "shop supplies" meaning a little bit of coolant. I saved $400 by going to another mechanic. Also for some reason they kept my car overnight for a simple diagnostic, without any kind of phone call to let me know and when you try to call to get a hold of them, no one is available. I will never return to this place again. Also a few months prior I had my gasket replaced and when I picked it up they didn't properly reattach the coolant hose. Found that out a few miles down the road when my car over heated and I had to call them from the side of the road. I spent over $3000 that day just for it to break down and almost completely destroy my engine. read more

Took many vehicles here over the past 11 years and there great .. they can get busy but there still on the ball to get you on the road .. I have older trucks and they get fixed up from time to time and always bought used . They fix them up and they get me out the door .. this new one had some problems with the tranny but it was fixed .. they have good prices in cars too , I almost bought one but had to decline since a loved one had died and needed to put it on hold .. lost key fobs and other small parts and they got them for me . There also in a good location so your not in the big city full of loud noise and you can concentrate while deciding on your vehicle problems or purchases . Terrible experience! The worst service I have ever had at a dealership. I had an appointment for 10:30am that I made a week in advance, which they suggested, for an oil change and multi-point inspection. I called to notify that I'd be 15min late. I arrived when I said I would. No one attended me when I arrived, I was standing around for about 10min until I was finally helped by service advisor, Colleen Beach. Once checked in she said everything would be 2hrs. After discussing with my partner, we figured it best to leave while the car was being serviced since we had other things to do today. And thank God we did. My car was not complete and available to pick up until almost 5pm. How did we go from a 2hr service to 6hrs for an oil change and inspection? Colleen B. was a liar, provided horrible customer service and had a horrible attitude when asking simple questions. The service manager, Jay G., was very passive and "that's just how it is" about the entire situation. He was no help at all either. Needless to say, I will never be coming here again and will be telling friends, family, neighbors, coworkers and social media about the horrendous customer service provided at this dealership. read more

Have used for multiple service calls in my Yukon from oil, tires, suspension replacement, etc. Had them fix a taillight along with a few other issues. They said it was multiple items that needed to be replaced for taillight and charged me over $500. Then when it continued to not work- they told me to bring it back in and want to charge me a $180 diagnostic fee to look at it again. An issue they already diagnosed and "fixed" for over $500! This business is very unprofessional. Poor sales process and managerial experience, and very pre-judgmental. I've been reluctant to give such a review though after several consistent experiences, and other dealerships surpassing . I test drove a vehicle at other dealership with only a license. Mind you the same car. I was pressed for payment info just to see if I could afford the car. I was asked by the management "are you even gonna buy the car". Customers who spend cash on a vehicle want to know every detail and it seems as though they were frustrated that someone didn't just hop and sign for a car in two seconds. The environment is extremely pushy. The sad part is I kept getting asked if I was gonna buy a used car before I even test drove the car. In what world is this normal? I was told "I can't read you" by the salesmen. This let's you know they read and judge you regarding the potential sale. And to ask anyone for assistance while your "sales rep" is busy means no one will help you. Overall I felt extremely judged, and pushed to sign before understanding the customer. This is consistent with each of my shopping experiences. I was told I need a credit application just to sit in a car that I expressed interest in. Even after expressing a cash sale and proof of funds. They didn't didn't even want to two cars for me and made it a hassle. Mind you another dealership did all the above on first experience. Overall I'm certain that the car I do purchase will not be from this dealership nor any warranty claims. The hospitality was poor and very pre-judgmental. To argue with a salesman and managerial staff regarding eligibility to purchase, sit in, startup, test drive a used car (which is same price as new) is beyond embarrassing. Not a great feeling to buying a dream car. Thumbs down across multiple experiences. So I find a vehicle that peeps my interest on this dealer. I fill out the online request for more information and make an offer. I almost instantly received a text asking to Reply Yes, if i wan to receive text messages from Starling Chevrolet. I replied Yes, the Got a subsequent text from Kristen asking if there is anything else she can do for me. I asked if the vehicle was in their lot, which I was told it wasn't but that it wasn't an issue as they can bring it there for me to see. At that time I told her I was preapproved via BOA and made an offer. I was told basically the car is non negotiable and ignored there after. I was offered a counter, I wasn't even thanked for at least showing interest. Just completely ignored. It is a poor reflection of the Dealership to be represented by employees like Kristen. I felt treated like a nobody just because she didn't like my offer. Normally an offer is a start to a negotiation process but apparently this dealer or it's employee don't believe in that process. Take it for what is worth but it left a salty taste in my mouth and made me go to Mullinax where at least they have to ignore me. I gave one star only because at least the answered my request for more info and because it's the lowest rating I can give. Yikes these guys are crooks .We took our truck in for an oil change just prior to taking a trip back to Michigan.Starling said my spotlessly clean air cleaner was plugged with dirt .Tried to tell me that 70 lbs psi in tires marked 8o lbs psi .They tried to sell me about 8 services that would never be needed on a truck with less than 10,000 miles on it Like wheel alignment ,change brake fluid ,flush coolant system and clean fuel injectors I will never return for any reason . read more

7/14/2023I do not recommend buying from this dealer. i purchased a new vehicle from them in January after making a custom order on a new car. i was unsure if i was going to get my car that i had ordered, although hesitant to purchase, i was assured that they would "swap me out" if my new car came in, fast forward six months later, no phone calls or emails, i stopped in and was told my car was accepted for build, two weeks later after me making a phone call, i was told my car was built and on its way. car came in, i brought the vehicle i purchased in with only 500 miles on it, was given well below market value for trade as thats "the best" they could do. i took my new car, after i had to wait for them to bring it back into service to remove the shipping blocks they didnt remove, only to find out two days later, they listed my traded car in for almost 12k more than they gave me. total crooks, they will not be getting anymore of my buisness, i will gladly order the new truck from another dealer, and will drive over 30min away for service 7/29/2023 I would like to update this review, not even one day after my initial post, i was contacted by my salesman and was asked to talk with the gsm (sales manager), i called and talked for a couple minutes where he came forward and told me they did not honor the original deal, told me the dollar amount i should have gotten, offered half so that i would take the review down, i came back with a fair offer, we agreed, he said he would get an answer for me withing a day or two, that was two weeks ago, i have contacted my salesman with no response, so basically they are not true to their word, i will be posting this across multiple platforms, and have already turned a few people away from going there to do business, THEY ADMITTED THEY DID WROND AND REFUSE TO MAKE IT RIGHT. They've done right by me. My hood didn't want to close and I needed an oil change. I noticed when making an appointment they offered LOF, tire rotation, and multipoint inspection for $35. STEAL! And luckily, the only thing the car needed was a new air filter and cabin filter. I replaced the air filter myself and it was definitely clogged. I let them do the cabin filter, which I had no idea that the filter and labor would amount to $60! But no charge for lubing up the latch or the car wash so I'm pretty satisfied. The folks there who weren't doing warranty work, however, didn't seem at all impressed with the price quotes on some recommended maintenance. Ashleigh was my service writer and she was great. All in all, exceeded my expectations. read more

Full disclosure: I hate the process of buying 2 things 1) mattresses and 2) Cars. Why? Because these seem to be the biggest smoke and mirrors with sales numbers out there. Leading up to visiting Starling, I worked with 4 other dealers scattered around central Florida. Each dealer either couldn't get a brand new 2015 Colorado (at this time of writing this, 2014, they were just now being shipped from factory) or the dealer had one but was asking $5,000 over MSRP! I then called Starling and spoke to Kerry King who gave me a feeling of trust, no pressure and "what you see is what you get" approach. Starling's team found a truck 200 miles away and did a dealer trade so I could have the exact truck I wanted; nothing more and nothing less. On top of all this, they beat the MSRP! Let me repeat, they beat a MSRP price while every other dealer was raising it. I encourage you to put Starling St. Cloud on the top of your list of dealers to work with. read more

STAY AWAY!!!!! This place is horrible. They will make your car an experiment if they can and if you don't know about cars. I was lied to 4 different times on parts, when my car was going to be done, them creating more issues on my car then it went in with, and about the work they did. I do not understand how Debby is the service manager when she does not know anything about customer service and just blames the car on miles after they break other items on your car. Adam my service rep lied to me several times and hung up the phone on me after speaking with him and questioning my review. They are great actors if you are willing to pay for it. I give them two stars because the bathrooms were spotless, parking was organized, and the cars on the lot were clean. This is usually a sign of a well run place. I made the mistake of showing how much I liked the new car they were trying to sell me. This gave them the confidence to try and pressure me into accepting a low trade offer. The second guy, who wanted a shot at me, identified himself as a manger went as far as to try that tired old routine about there being a 3500.00 rebate on my car and that made it worth less. I politely declined and left. Then, they did a hard inquiry on my credit. Why? I don't know. I brought in a copy of my credit scores and I made it clear for them to not do a hard pull on my credit until we had a deal agreed on. The reason? Just the act of checking a person's credit will lower their score. It's important to know that the better your score, the lower interest rate you will get. They asked me to fill out the app at the beginning, just for expediency later on. Even though I asked them not to run it, they didn't break the law because they had a credit app signed by me. The reduction in my score was just enough to push me past the tipping point for qualifying to get the lowest rate when I bought a car. Again, they acted 100% within the law. There was nothing to gain by running my credit after I left. Decide for yourself if it was ethical. A little buying advice- If you see a rebate for 3500.00; in theory, you may get that much but usually it's broken into segments. For example, you might see 1000.00 for anyone. Then an extra 500.00 for active military, plus 1000.00 for current owners/lessees for brand loyalty. 500.00 for those currently financed through the manufacturers finance company. 500.00 rebate on certain trim or equipment level, and plenty of other nuggets to dangle in front of the customer. Are we seeing the picture yet? Big rebates are often an aggregate of small pieces. Yes, it is possible in some cases to max out the potential. But buyer beware and do your homework before someone tries to empty your pockets with a fluffy little gray area. read more
