Hot, Dry, and designed to make you spend money! From the $170 massage to renting a mountain bike for a couple of hours at $60, this is no resort, it's a money pit!! The rooms are nice, and quite spacious. The ac never stopped running at 72°. My room had both the shower and bathtub separately, and the showerhead nice pressure, although there's still the flow regulator issue on all new shower heads. Lots of free stuff, more cotton balls than one person could use, single serving qtips. Mini fridge is a plus. What is "Mountain View" ? My room was said to have a Mountain View, but it's more like a cactus covered Hill. You look down at the parking lot mostly. Everything has a surcharge. From a bottle of Coca Cola to breakfast, you're going to pay through the nose for creature comforts. Let's talk about food for a moment. There's three restaurants, really expensive, kind of expensive, and then an offsite kind of moderate. If you want to go to the offsite you can hop on a free shuttle bus and they will take you there and back. Unfortunately it closes at night. So that leaves you with the two restaurants on site. Primo. Meh. Signatures. Meh. With the sound of jet fighters and helicopters roaring overhead, and $15 for a cocktail, the view is nice, and they try to make it nice, but the prices are a little insulting. The Internet is free... at least it says it is but it's tricky. Watch out for the deceptive pay marketing. Overall I'm really confused why anyone would host a conference here, let alone stay here. At roughly $250 a night you're getting ripped off. The massage should be $60. The bikes should be free or maybe $10 per day. Instead you're nickel and dimed in this hot and dry desert oasis, quite unfairly imo. Overall, if the conference was not here, I would never come here. They don't even have an airport shuttle!

I would have given them 1 star but being close to JWMarriott made up for the 1970s broke down studio we got for our 5 year anniversary with a non draining tub, pink decor and two towels for our entire weekend stay. Then Amika told me I could keep the Tucson where-traveler book when I called only to change her mind at checkout and tell me I'd be charged. The only thing good about this place is the Catalina Cantina where the wings are awesome and the Brisket melts in your mouth. Otherwise I would tell anyone that staying here is equivalent to having a 1970s motel 6 room with no access to outside from the studio. At check in I advised the desk staff that we requested an upgrade and it was our 5 year wedding Anniversary. He told me we received a remodeled room. Not sure whose definition of remodeled this is?

Nestled in the hills above Tucson This beautiful resort has so much to offer for a great family vacation (Hiking, Golf, Pool, Exercise room, Cycling & a nice Mexican Themed Bar & Grille). The rooms are large 1 & 2 bedroom casitas most with awesome views of Tucson at night. They all have small patios & a fireplace that burn real wood. A lot to see & do in the area.. minutes to the 10-fwy and about an hour to Tombstone or Nogales Mexico down the 19-fwy. We have stayed here several times & have found the staff very friendly. For those that golf.. they have one of the nicest around. Now the Negatives.. they do not have Wi-Fi so we could not use all our devices. I hope they work on that as it would not be much trouble or expense with today's technology. They do however have a hardline you can plug into by the phone that is if you have a device with an Ethernet port. The rooms while nice with beautiful views are getting worn out (carpet furniture etc). Loved the Balcony.. did not like all the chipping paint. on the railing & exterior of building. With a little attention this could be a 5-star property.

A cozy little secret place to please the golf enthusiast and the sun worshiper alike. With spectacular vista views varying in vegetation sculpted for the visitation of a variety of wild life, this semi rugged southwestern hideaway deserves more visitors of the human kind. Virtually the best value in the area with regards to room rates. I for one am shocked that it's clientele seemed lean mid February. There is some sort of alliance between Marriott and seemingly several smaller vendors in the running of the place, and by no means should you come here expecting a trendy, sophistication typical of what I normally rate a 4 star property but this place automatically gets two stars because of its service and care shown by each person I ran into. There is an observatory nearby from which you can view on so many a clear night in Arizona, a billion stars dancing all around and above you. For this reason, don't complain if you cannot find your suite assigned to you should you arrive after sunset!

We stayed here for one week in a spacious and well-equipped two-bedroom unit. Temperature highs were mostly in the 60s and low 70s, making it easy to enjoy the attractions of the Tucson area as well as the resort's outdoor amenities. Grocery stores, restaurants, and shopping are also within a few miles. Location. The resort is in a very quiet location but is convenient to most anything that you might want or need in the area. My husband and I loved the vibe of the area, with wide slow-moving double-laned streets, bike lanes, and many sidewalks, which encourage a lot of the locals to be out walking and biking. We regularly used the resort pool and spacious jacuzzi tub, and walked some of the nearby Virtoso Trails Nature Preserve trails, as well as those of Honeybee Canyon Park, both of which in the Oro Valley and close to the resort. There were stunning sunsets viewable from the resort on most nights. We also used the resort as our base for exploring the Tucson environment -- a drive up to Mt Lemmon/the Coronado National Forest/Catalina State Park; Sabino Recreation Area; both the eastern and western units of Saguaro National Park; Casa Grande Ruins National Monument,, and more. The unit. Our two-bedroom unit was very comfortable, and well-appointed. Six people could stay here comfortably. There was a huge bed in the main bedroom, twin beds in the second bedroom, and a large Murphy bed near the dining table. The kitchen was full-sized and stocked with everything you might need -- fridge/freezer, range/oven, dishwasher, pots/pans, plates/bowls/cups/glasses/knives/utensils, cabinet space for groceries, and even commonly-used spices. Other great features in the unit included a cozy electric fireplace, a patio that had a small table/chairs and a grill and a combo washer/dryer (and starter laundry detergent) in the unit. Communications were excellent, at check-in and in a follow-up phone call to see if we needed anything. Parking was free and directly outside of our unit. Critters. Upon check-in, we were given a handout to remind us that the resort is located in the Sonoran Desert, which is home to many desert critters -- rattlesnakes, javelina, coyote, scorpions & tarantulas, and bobcats. In addition to basic information about the wildlife, the resort provided information about urgent care resources in the area. We're happy to report that we didn't see any poisonous or dangerous creatures, whether on-site or in hiking in Honey Bee, the Sequoga National Park, or the Mt. Lemmon trails. (We did see a coyote in a Phoenix park though). A few minor things worth mentioning. *This resort charges an occupancy tax, which was disclosed at the time of reservation. The tax was $50+ for the week. *When we logged-on to Wi-Fi in the room, we were met by a screen that informed us that Wi-Fi would cost $49.95 for 3 devices for 10 days or $69.95 for 6 devices. Surprised by these charges, my husband called the resort, and were pleasantly surprised when we were given a code that erased the charges. *Some gold crown resorts have jacuzzis in the unit; this one does not. *The tv in the living room is small, but appropriately-sized for its current location. *It'd probably time to upgrade the couches. We alternatively sunk into the cushions or were sliding off. We would definitely stay here again when we return to the Tucson area.

Located in the beautiful Oro Valley, just outside of Tucson. We stayed in a studio for three nights…read morein early August, and since it wasn't too busy, the atmosphere was calm and relaxing. Check-in was smooth, and every staff member we encountered was warm and welcoming. The property has a lot to enjoy--especially the pool area with incredible sunset views. The hot tubs tucked around the resort were also a favorite spot to unwind. We appreciated having nearby grocery stores where we stocked up on food, including steaks for the patio BBQ. Our room itself was comfortable, though the view from our patio was a bit underwhelming, facing the street and neighboring houses. Still, the overall setting of Oro Valley made up for it--the area is clean, scenic, and filled with great dining options, plus plenty of walking and hiking trails to explore. Overall, it's a peaceful getaway spot with beautiful surroundings, friendly service, and relaxing amenities.
