Cute little local coffee shop. This review is from pre-covid. I am not a person who frequently goes to coffee shop. I did however used to go during girl scout cookie season! This was another location that was generous enough to allow girls to sell cookies at their location. So throughout the years while girls were there, I would get the girls hot cocoa or tea. I also got myself some tea and i had a salad or gluten free sandwich and some chips. They are cozy location. It is not the biggest coffee shop that I have been in but its quite comfortable. The staff was always super friendly. I have purchased gift cards here for some of my girl scouts when they have had birthdays that my daughter was invited to their party. The younger crowd loves this place too. Parking can be a little tough, but honestly anywhere in old town is a little challenging. read more

Perfectly nice spot slightly off the main chunk of Old Town. They've got a few outside tables in some shade, and a decent amount of seating if/when covid isn't a concern. The coffee sort of ranges from juuuust drinkable to pretty good, depending I think on who's working and time of day. But for the most part the coffee is decent. They're open nice and early, they've got a couple bagel options, the obligatory breakfast burritos (not sure why every coffee shop in Old Town has these, but I'm here for it), and a Colorado version of kolaches with various fillings. All are slightly better than you're expecting! Pastries are average, haven't tried the sandwiches. The service here is ALWAYS cheerful/respectful, the only ding I'd give them is for their efficiency behind the counter. Most food items take a bit longer than you think it'll take to prepare, which creates a bottleneck in service at the counter (my main reason for not trying the sandwiches... just don't have the time to wait). read more

Although they have 4 locations, I would not consider this a chain. I'm originally from Seattle and have a warm place in my heat for Starbucks...but in many ways they've lost their soul. The crooked cup reminds us what independence means. Coffee is a ritualistic, community driven experience that reflects the characteristics of its surroundings. And in this way they have succeeded wonderfully. I enjoy the coffee and food. The oak milk latte was wonderful. The pastries are amazing and the breakfast burrito is filling and very satisfying, but unfortunately microwaved. It could have been placed in the toaster oven they have behind the counter. Wow. Tried their light roast and found it to be one I could drink black..now that says a lot for me since I am a "heavy cream and stevia in my coffee" drinker. Workers here are happy and energetic. They are so knowledge and even readily share their useful information within pleasant conversation. Now this is a friendly barista haven. I had the Club Sandwich with Miss Vickie's jalapeño chips, and it was absolutely delicious! Even better when you put some of the chips on the sandwich itself. Perfect yummy crunch! I highly recommend it. (The chips aren't that spicy, by the way so don't worry). The sandwich was packed with meat - cherrywood & whiskey smoked turkey and ham, thick cut bacon, with white American cheese that really stands out. You can tell their ingredients are fresh and high quality. Their lettuce, tomato and mayo was even killer! Just spoke to Gabriel - he says they smoke the meats for a full day. Clearly they care about flavor and quality! Camille had The Crooked Bumble Bee and a breakfast sandwich with ham, egg, tomatoes, spinach and cream cheese. Clearly she loved it since it was gone before I could get a picture! Additionally, we came in after seeing some cool drinks online, but their menu changed. However, we were reassured that they can still make any drink they used to serve since they still have all of the ingredients and syrups! They even have a whole list of the drinks in their prep area just in case someone orders something off menu! So even if you have an old favorite they no longer have on the menu, don't fret! They got you covered. :) Definitely check this place out. If I still haven't convinced you yet, the staff is super duper nice and accommodating as well. read more

I'm generally a fan of Crooked Cup, but I am very disappointed after a visit today (3/26/23). Along with my usual coffee drink, today I picked up some beans to take home. I didn't check the date, just assuming they would be fresh based on all the signage regarding the shop's mission of top quality. However, when I got home I saw that the bag of beans was roasted on 12/22/22! Even grocery store coffee beans are much fresher than that. I'll be buying my beans (and likely other coffee products) elsewhere based on this experience! read more

It's a bummer that Indulge, the little Turkish cafe with exotic pastries didn't make it in this town, but I'm glad to see a cute little coffee shop, The Crooked Cup in the location. It is a small space so now that the students are back in town it may get crowded, but when I visited last week I had my choice of tables to sit at for a couple of hours of work. It was nice that the server working that day immediately offered-up the wi-fi passcode when he saw that I had come with my computer. They have a couple of pastry cases displaying what look to be some very good eats ... I had a hard time choosing between the salted caramel brownie and the tiramisu cupcake (which won, and was delicious). There were some breakfasty pastries, and I saw on the menu that they also have Noosa yogurt, which is local and a current obsession of mine. Interestingly, there were little cups, mouthwash, and a little sign saying something about coffee breath in the bathroom. I didn't know that coffee breath was something to be ashamed of? Nonetheless, the quirky touch made me smile. I'm sure I'll be back. read more

Cute cafe in a great location with friendly service and many food and drink options. They have lot of cute kitsch on their cafe display such as an offer for 50c off if you hear the train go by. =) The vegetable-filled empanada-like puff pastry was good but not particularly spectacular. The coffee was strong and fresh. The chai I had was fairly generic. I also had a lavender black tea latte... it was decent though unimpressive. I have been to the Crooked Cup on a few occasions while hanging out downtown or meeting friends for coffee. I have had a few coffee specialty drinks, black coffee, and some of the pastries or breakfast sandwiches. I can't say that I've ever been super impressed. The coffee is fine, the specialty drinks don't get me very excited and the pastries or sandwiches are not my thing. I like the space and the atmosphere, but there isn't anything that makes me want to work to find a parking space in the area just to come in here. There are other options in the downtown area that I like much better. The service is not bad, but it also isn't impressive and doesn't make me feel like I want this to be my place. I want to like the place, but unfortunately I would pick another spot downtown if it's my choice. read more

Another lovely spot for a short meeting or long hours of study! The atmosphere can be best described as a somewhere warm in Boulder Colorado, the alley way gives this effect. Overall super nice and clean, they sell these homemade Kolache's (min pastries, stuffed with yummy yummyness), and coffee beans from Brazil, locally roasted. Recommended!! read more

The Crooked Cup is a new coffee shop to me. I was taking a friend of mine through a part of Oldtown Fort Collins to take her to a Turkish dessert shop called Indulge(Not to be confused with the bakery, Indulgence) Alas either during the three months I was gone there were either lots of transitions with businesses in Oldtown or I had my nose to the grindstone so much I missed the transition right out from under me. Indulge is no more, R.I.P. but while walking on the same block in the Oak Street Shopping area I saw the Crooked Cup. It was a place I never heard of before and thought it was worth trying. We were too full from lunch to get any of their marvelous looking pastries but we got some coffee and a chai tea. Of course I got the chai. The chai was made well. It was well mixed and had none of that nasty residual powder that you get with some places that offer chai. For me that is a big bonus! We chatted it up in the quaint little coffee shop for a good long time while eating some chocolate truffles that we bought earlier. The service and friendliness was spot on! There are many coffee shops in Oldtown Fort Collins and many of them are often heavily congested, loud and very busy. The Crooked Cup is much more quieter since it is in the much less traveled Oak Shopping Center and makes a good place to just chill and a great place to read and study! read more

Crooked Cup is tucked away on West Oak, near some other lovely restaurants. Walking in, I was impressed at how homey the place was. The display case with old school smores -- awesome! I got an iced latte there. It was quite good, among the best in town. I inquired whether they have wifi, they do. So, I'll be back -- especially as it gets warmer, and I can make use of their small but nice front patio. read more

Our visit was highlighted by courteous barista/servers, a tasty selection of homemade goods including delicious kolaches and wonderful banana muffins, and perfectly prepared lattes that arrived steaming hot. The coffee shop is tastefully decorated and comfortable. The bathroom is bed-and-breakfast worthy. Newspapers and mags for perusing, and a library shelf that readers are encouraged to take from at no charge (and to bring a book to share on your return trip) make the Crooked Cup a true oasis! read more

I was definitely able to get some work done but the tables were closer together so it was distracting at times. I recommend coming here if you don't need to really grind on homework. Crooked Cup, is best described as an airport or office building coffee shop. The decor is modern and themed "crooked" yet it seems to lack any character or a homey feel that so many coffee shops have. CC is just down the road from Harbinger Coffee and Everyday Joe's Coffee House both of which have distinct character and feel. I would highly recommend those two over CC. The coffee at CC is okay- I ordered a large latte ~$5 (not a bad price) and it came in this massive mug. This mug was the largest mug I have ever seen, it took two hands to manage it. I was okay with that, more for my money, until I took a sip. The coffee lacked the finesse and craftsmanship found at some of the better coffee shops in FoCo. There wasn't any latte art, and the milk wasn't quite foamed enough, but the espresso was pulled pretty well- a little on the flat side. Though I didn't try any pastries- others seem to say that they are great. From what I saw they look amazing. The presentation could be better but I would say try a pastry if you try this place. read more
