The night time cruise at 7:30 is the perfect time to catch some gorgeous sunset photos and enjoy a few pre dinner beverages with an amazing view. The tour guide was funny and knowledgeable and I enjoyed the music they played as well keeping the good vibes up. Perfect length of 90 minutes. I recommend getting there early. 30-40 mins so that you can get your preferred place to sit but you can also walk around the boat the entire time. I went on a sunday night and it was not even close to packed. Drink prices are pretty average for NYC and they had a decent selection including liquor. I removed a star because of an unfortunate situation with a groupon that I had purchased, and it honestly almost turned me off from doing the cruise at all but I am glad I still went. I paid for a groupon of a night time cruise for 90 minutes then was made to pay an extra fee just to go on the cruise I had already booked. Sunk cost theory made me go through with it but the entire interaction over the groupon was less than ideal, including them using my groupon voucher without me showing up. I prefer having these conversations on the phone but between the separate numbers on groupon and the company site no one would pick up. So just be warned about that situation. Or just buy the tickets straight up lol

Starship presented us with an excellent 90 minute boat tour of NYC. Our tour guide/DJ Darius was so informative and the views of NYC and Statue of Liberty were amazing. Highly recommend them.

If you're visiting New York and want a memorable, well organized way to see the Statue of Liberty, this tour is absolutely worth it. We took the ferry experience and were genuinely impressed from start to finish. They offer both general admission and a VIP option, and I high recommend the VIP. It gives you access to the upper deck, a complimentary alcoholic drink, and professional photos. All of which elevated the entire experience. The staff was incredibly friendly, and our photographer, Mario was amazing! He was talented, funny, and made the photo sessions feel effortless. Mario not only took beautiful, high-quality photos but also suggested poses and angles that highlighted our features and captured the Statue of Liberty, the skyline, and the bridges perfectly. He paid attention to the small details, positioning, lighting, background elements to make every shot look intentional and stunning. He even took extra photos we requested and never rushed us. The VIP section itself was a huge perk. Having a quieter area with fewer people made it so much easier to take photos, soak in the views, and just enjoy the moment without being crowded. The complimentary drink was a nice touch and added to the relaxing vibe. The timing of the tour was perfect, long enough to experience all the highlights without feeling rushed. We got incredible views of the Brooklyn Bridge, the Statue of Liberty from every angle, and so many beautiful New York cityscapes. I appreciated how the crew took their time circling the Statue of Liberty so everyone had plenty of opportunities for photos and time to just take it all in. The also had snacks and drinks (nonalcoholic too) available on board, which made the trip even more enjoyable. The weather, water, and the pace of the tour all came together perfectly. It was such a fun adventure and a beautiful way to wrap up our trip before heading to the airport. Highly recommend, if you want an unforgettable and well crafted way to see one of the most iconic landmarks!

After a debacle with another tour company left me and my family holding the bag, I quickly went on Viator looking for a tour last minute. I found Starship did a river tour that allowed you to see the Brooklyn Bridge, The Statue of Liberty and other sights. I quickly booked and we made our way over there. The traffic to get to Hudson River Park, where they sail out of was nightmarish. We had a hotel in Manhattan, not far from it and it still took us an hour. This is no fault of the company, I am just warning anyone wanting to go on a tour. You need to leave ridiculously early! The tour guide was good, the ship has drinks and snacks which you will need considering the tour takes some time. That said, the problem are your fellow tourists. We had a horrid family who hogged the views and wouldn't allow anyone to properly see or take picture... until I got mad. I started talking smack to them and pushed forward and let others come to the front. The fact I had to do this because no staff members would do anything about it, sucked! Moreover, i think they need to reduce the number of people on these tours a bit so it can be more comfortable and enjoyable. My family did get to see a lot of beautiful sights while on the boat, so I need to be fair and say that.

Last minute we joined the last boat tour of the day. We were going to try the free trip but figured since we were already in the area, we'd check this one out. It's a very nice boat with a full bar in the lower deck. Plenty of areas to sit inside and outside especially when it got windy. Lots of photo opportunities. Recommend if you would like a nicer, smaller boat.

Rolling down the Hudson River! Really great crew here! Darius their ringleader and tour guide made things more entertaining for sure! He made me laugh several times, was very informative, played good music in between. His energy was awesome! It was a really windy day but still got great views and enjoyed myself. A great way to see the city and surrounding areas. Thank you for the photographer and captains for being apart of this experience as well! Would recommend for sure if you've got a couple free hours in the city!

Molly was wonderfully culturally sensitive, which we really appreciated. She had a great sense of humor and clearly knew a lot about the landmarks we visited. The staff was professional and friendly throughout the experience. We especially enjoyed being downstairs--it was a comfortable space for our group.

Wonderful tour and boat ride! Very quick tour that you can pack into your day. Tour guide was great! Lots to see and lots of new information on history in New York City.

The narration was informative, engaging, and easy to follow. We learned a great deal about New York City's architecture and history without it ever feeling overwhelming. It struck the perfect balance between being educational and enjoyable. The crew was friendly, welcoming, and attentive from start to finish. The tour includes one complimentary drink, with additional beverages available for purchase. Rather than having to keep going to the bar, the staff frequently came by our table to see if anyone wanted another drink or needed anything else, which made the experience feel relaxed and well cared for. The seating was comfortable, the facilities were clean, and the overall atmosphere was enjoyable from beginning to end. This was one of the highlights of our visit to New York City, and I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants to experience the city from the water while learning about its remarkable architecture.

This review is for a special fourth of July weekend brunch cruise on the Spirit of New Jersey…read moreleaving from Liberty Landing Marina in Jersey City. This being said, my comments probably apply to many similar cruises offered by this company. The cruise was supposed to board at 10:30 am for an 11 am departure, returning at 1 pm. Boarding started maybe 10:50 am and the ship left about 20 minutes late, and still returned at 1 pm. So it was really a 1 hour and 40 minute cruise rather than a 2 hour one. The boat has two indoor, air-conditioned dining levels and an upper deck. It is random which level you are seated at, but the layout looks the same. With taxes and random fees, cost was about $350 for a family of three, and $500 for a family of four. We did not pay extra for a window table. We got a window table anyway, which was nice. There were also bottomless mimosas for the adults and orange juice for the kids. We did see the tall historic ships as advertised. We didn't see many - definitely less than 10 - but we did get pretty close to the ships and got some good pictures. The boat went around the tip of Manhattan and we saw Ellis Island, Governor's Island, and Staten Island. We spent a lot of time around the Statue of Liberty. It was a while before we got food. At the beginning of the cruise, the buffet was not ready yet so basically everyone went upstairs to the upper deck to take pictures first. When the buffet was ready there was a lot of waiting around while they called the tables up one by one. The buffet was honestly not great. The sausage was undercooked, the bacon was over-crispy, the salmon was overcooked. There was someone serving slices of beef which were somewhat dry but still the best thing there. The DJ did a commendable job acting as a tour guide but also playing every line dance that he could think of in order to convince people to get on the dance floor. I am sure nobody booked the cruise for the purposes of having a dance party, but there were definitely at least two families with kids dancing on the dance floor by the end of the cruise. Overall, decent but expensive.

The cruise was advertised as "New Jersey July 3rd Parade of Historic Ships signature afternoon…read morelunch". We saw no historic ships, no tall ships. The route advertised was from Liberty State Park to the Intrepid, then back to Battery Park and up the East River to Williamsburg Bridge. This boat simply circled Battery Park for 1 1/2 hours. No Intrepid and no East River! No historic ships. Food as fine, table location was excellent of there had been any ships to see. I received several emails warning to arrive 60 minutes early. We had to wait in the hot sun (nearly 100 degrees that day) and they boarded passengers 20 minutes later than stated in the email. So, we waited in the hot sun more than 80 minutes. Then we didn't have the cruise we paid for!! No email telling me the route changed or change of plans no access to the historic ships on this cruise!! if I had known that the day of the cruise, I would have demanded a refund before paying for five adults for this event. Make sure you double and triple check the actual cruise route before paying for a cruise with this organization.
