Definitely worthwhile for an afternoon adventure to see the incredible architecture and learn about the history! Our host organized a Manhattan architecture cruise tour for us on a gorgeous summer day. We all boarded the boat and peered out the large windows surrounding almost every section of the vessel. Our tour guide explained that while we would need to be seated for the beginning, we were welcome to head out the doors to the front once we were on our way, as the speakers would allow us to hear her narration from the outside. She was extremely knowledgeable and directed our attention with information and history as we moved through the waterways. A beverage is included on the tour, and they have a broad selection from still and sparking water to wines and beers. You can also bring your drinks outside. Most people didn't choose to come outside until later in the tour, so it was a great ride soaking up the sunshine with a breeze from the water. One of the highlights was definitely begin up close with the Statue of Liberty. There was plenty of time there for photos as we turned around before heading back. Getting to sail through the swing bridges was also pretty need. I definitely have a deeper understanding and appreciation for the architecture of the city, and we all had a really enjoyable afternoon! read more

We took the Mimosa Sail on the Schooner Adirondack on Saturday. It was honestly better than we expected! The crew was so friendly and comforting (I think their names were Sandy and Lauren who were amazing!). You can tell they loved what they were doing and wanted to share with the group. It made us more comfortable seeing them confidently work around the schooner and wanted to engage in conversation. The "mimosa" were actually a wide variety of drinks to select from which was great. While on the tour, the boat turns so both sides were able to see the Statue of Liberty which was nice little touch. I would say this tour was definitely worth the money and such a unique experience to have while in the city. We will definitely be returning for a different ride as they have so many options! read more

Went on a fall foliage cruise and had the best time! The whole cruise was about an hour. The ticket included the first drink of wine or champagne or half off cocktails so I did the half off and got a pear martini. It was so good I ended up getting another one. Had an amazing experience on the boat tour to the Statue of Liberty! We purchased the tickets online the day before and it was for 6:50 pm. The ride was smooth, the views of the skyline were stunning, and seeing the Statue up close was unforgettable. If I could give more than five stars, I would. This brunch cruise around Manhattan was not only the highlight of our time in New York City, but one of the most memorable travel experiences I have ever had. From the moment we stepped aboard the beautiful luxury yacht, everything was exceptional. The atmosphere was perfect, with classic Yacht Rock playing softly in the background as we set off to circumnavigate Manhattan, passing beneath twenty bridges and taking in breathtaking views around every corner. Every few minutes another iconic New York landmark appeared, and it genuinely felt like seeing the city for the first time all over again. The food was outstanding -- quite honestly the best food we enjoyed during our entire three-week trip through the United States. The smoked salmon, capers and cream cheese bagels were delicious, the fresh fruit platter was refreshing, and the pastries, banana bread, croissants and apple tea cake were all beautifully presented and incredibly fresh. The chicken and waffles were the perfect brunch dish and every course was thoughtfully prepared. A special thank you to the talented chefs whose attention to detail elevated what could have been a simple brunch into a truly memorable dining experience. Equally impressive was the service. Every member of staff we encountered was warm, welcoming, professional and genuinely passionate about ensuring guests had a wonderful experience. The hospitality was flawless from beginning to end. It is rare to encounter a team that delivers such consistently high standards while still making everything feel relaxed and effortless. What struck me most was the incredible quality of the entire experience. The yacht was immaculate, the food exceptional, the service outstanding and the views simply unforgettable. Standing on the bow with the Manhattan skyline surrounding us is a memory I will treasure for years to come. As visitors from Australia, this was our final activity before leaving New York, and it could not have been a more perfect way to conclude our trip. Took the architecture tour which takes you on a boat ride around Manhattan. You will head south from Chelsea, make a quick stop in front of Statue of Liberty, then head up the East River, through the Harlem River and back down the Hudson. It was a great, educational tour. Even though it was a drizzly cloudy morning, the guide who gave the tour made things very interesting. You definitely learn new things about NYC, its iconic architecture and history. You get a free drink with the ticket--you can order more, along with food. The crew were friendly and excellent. The boat was clean, with plenty of seating inside and out. One tip I have is that if you sit on the inside, take a table on the right side of the boat since this will give you the best view toward Manhattan throughout the tour. Wonderful cruise ( Statue & Skyline Holiday Cocoa Cruise ) within New York Harbor on the "Manhattan ". It's a nicely appointed boat (think classic cabin cruiser or smaller yacht) with beautiful wood details. The seating was reserved and very comfortable. You are not packed in like sardines on this boat. Captain Felix and crew made everyone feel comfortable on board. Good narration of sights along the way. Being on the water gives a good geographical perspective of Manhattan and the other boroughs. Photos can be taken outside of the cabin on the deck. I was looking for a fun sight-seeing boat tour while in the city for my birthday. This past June, I did an architecture boat tour with Wendella's on the Chicago river, and was just amazed by the unique perspective of seeing Chicago from the water, as well as learning the rich history of the city by way of its architecture. When my partner & I were planning our recent trip to New York, we wanted to get on the water, but I assumed we'd take Hornblower or Circle Line tour... until we found Classic Harbor Line's architecture tour! Hosted and narrated by a member of the American Institute of Architects New York Chapter, we knew we were in for an informative time. The Manhattan is a beautiful 80-foot, 1920s-style yacht that offers a much more intimate excursion than the other cruise lines. We had an assigned table, akin to a small restaurant booth, and each ticket comes with a beverage of choice. We opted to upgrade to the beverage package, which included a total of 3 drinks. Boat tours & champagne go hand in hand! The architecture tour is a "quiet cruise", which means this is not the one to pick if you and your girlies are looking to gab the whole time. One of their holiday or sightseeing tours may be better suited for that. As a fully narrated tour, they request conversations be taken outside on the deck... and it was cold out there! I appreciated this, since we signed up for this tour to hear what our guide had to share. At one point, our table neighbors began to get chatty, and they were quickly reminded of which cruise they were on. Three hours flew by as we circumnavigated Manhattan in style, and it was the perfect way to start our first full day in the city! read more

We sailed on July 7th, to see the Tall Ships before they left NYC for their respective homes. Our crew was great, with Mac as our captain. We hit some rain and were given complimentary ponchos. : ) We enjoyed chatting with the crew and the other passengers. Seeing the Tall Ships (and of course the Statue of Liberty) was awesome, and we learned a bit about the history of things we passed, as well. Would recommend! We had a lot of fun. read more

I did a tour on the Yacht Kingston for the Sail 250 tall ship tour. All of the workers were organized and efficient in collecting tickets. The boat was clean, the crew was excellent, and I had a great conversation with Susanna about the harbor line's eco-tours during the winter season, including viewings of seals. Other members of the crew explained where we were going and what sights we would see on our tour, along with a historical background of the area and the tall ships we would be viewing. I would recommend this tour to anyone interested in a fun tour with a smaller number of people! read more

The Sail250 event was spectacular! Sailing the Hudson and seeing all the ships that came over for the 4th was absolutely beautiful. The staff and crew were incredibly friendly, and our guide, Andrew, was so knowledgeable -- about the ships, the areas we sailed past, and the history behind it all. Loved it! We went for the fall foliage and brunch tour. It was lovely. The boat is small and the big glass windows mean everyone gets a great view, but it can get warm in the sun. It's best to dress in layers because it was cool and windy on the deck. I was surprised just how good the food was and how much we were provided. It's a set menu, but with advance notice you can get a gluten free option. Their sparkling wine paired beautifully with the fresh fruit platter. That was followed by an excellent fall salad, smoked salmon platter, bagels, pastries, an egg dish, and then cookies. My favorites were the pistachio cake and scones. The crew were nice, friendly, and informative. I think it should be at least a half hour longer so you could go a little further north and not rush dessert. Note: even with an extra half hour, we would have been too full for dessert, but a cup of coffee or tea would have been nice. Our seating for 4 was comfortable but seemed cramped. There were other seats for 4 that appeared roomier. read more

I wanted to do something I'd never done in NYC before when my mom and I were visiting for a weekend. To that end, we signed upfor the AIANY Around Manhattan Architecture Boat Tour, which we really enjoyed. The boat is beautiful, and the service is great (they offer complimentary coffee or champagne, but they also offer additional snacks and drinks - lots of people on our tour were enjoying Bloody Marys since we had a brunch time tour). The tour takes you around all of Manhattan, and it's narrated - a tour guide points out architectural points of interest throughout the tour. You see the Statue of Liberty, Governor's Island, Roosevelt Island, and lots of interesting architecture along the three hour tour. Our guide was lovely - informative, friendly, easy to hear and understand. I enjoyed seeing Manhattan from the viewpoint of the boat - it gave me a different appreciation for the size and architectural diversity of Manhattan. The weather wasn't the best on our tour day (cloudy/drizzly/gray and the water was a little bit rough, but it was still a great way to send a morning. Don't forget to bring something warm to wear - I forgot and was annoyed at myself when I couldn't stand outside on the boat for some pictures of the Statue of Liberty without the glass of the boat in the way! read more

The AIANY Architecture Boat Tour was great. The boat is a perfect size with a main area that houses the tables with assigned seating and windows in all directions. The boat also has a small bar and 2 decent sized restrooms. You can stay inside at your assigned table or go outside to enjoy the sun/breeze. In both cases you can hear from the architecture guide over the speaker. Your ticket comes with one complimentary drink. There are more drink options and apps to purchase if you get thirsty/hungry on the 2 hour and 45 minute tour around Manhattan. The crew was helpful and friendly. I'm not an architecture buff, but I do enjoy calm, relaxing boat rides with great information. This ride was exactly that. 10/10 recommend. read more

I take every visitor who comes to see me on one of these boats (literally 5+ times I think). It's one of the most amazing ways to showcase NYC to out-of-town friends and family. The service is consistently excellent, and you really get your money's worth since the ticket includes your first drink. The views are absolutely breathtaking--there's truly nothing not to love. My favorite part of these boat trips has been Andrew. He is a star, a true gem, and one of the main reasons I enjoy these excursions so much.
