I am not familiar with the dog grooming experience and I had a lot of questions and Amber's staff was so kind and didn't make me feel silly for all my concerns. They treated my pup with such love and she was such a happy girl when I left her and when I picked her up. And my pup looked perfect! She smelled wonderful and they even gave me tips for care for my dog and things I should ask the vet about. I am definitely going back and I appreciate all the love and care they put into my dog! I've had a couple of excellent groomings here. I've had a couple of mediocre groomings here. And I had one terrible grooming. I took my Newfoundland in to a new groomer. I told her I wanted his haircut. She said do you want it shaved? I said absolutely not. You do not shave this breed. When I picked him up. He'd been shaved. In fact, sheared so poorly he looked like a black sheep. That was bad enough. Then, because I was so disappointed, I really felt like I should not have to pay for a service that I specifically said I did not want. In addition, I was really concerned that my dog's coat would never grow back to its original luster. I spoke to the owner. I eventually got him to give me a refund. But it took a lot of doing. He wanted me to consider the feelings of the groomer. And how disappointed she was to not earn money for the job she did. While I understand that perspective, and I did feel bad for the groomer who worked hard, it really made me question the culture of this establishment. I just thought to myself, if it was me as an owner of an organization that performed negligently and below expectation. I would offer a refund without hesitation and if anything, I would pay that employee out of my pocket and coach and counsel them to listen to customers and follow instructions better next time. I would never make the customer feel guilty when my staff makes an error. So three stars it is. By the way, this happened about 12 months ago or so. Hopefully they've improved since then. I took my little 3 year old Shitzu Poodle on Sunday August 17 2025 to be groomed and they cut all her hair off and they knicked her on her leg and behind her ear and lied and said they were hot spots. My husband took our Aussie in for a grooming appointment. I had wanted to grow out his hair instead of giving him a haircut so the past couple of appointments I had requested no haircut. My husband dropped him off and talked to the groomer personally to remind her not to give him a haircut. I get a phone call from Amber's later while at home. They called to say that the message was not given to the groomer in time about not cutting his hair. THEY CUT HIS HAIR! The part that upsets me the most is that they lied when they called me. How did the groomer not get the message in time when my husband spoke to the groomer personally when he dropped him off? Then when my husband went back to pick him up, they were only willing to take off $5.00. It was apparent they didn't care about trying to make things better and when my husband said he wouldn't be coming back, their response was, "ok". Lastly, I emailed Ambers and asked for a manager or owner, to call me regarding this and I've never heard from them. Such a disappointment with this business. read more

I give this place two stars only because of the prices they have. However, a zero for their boarding service and their communication skills. - first issue is lack of communication/ professionalism: We scanned our dog's vaccinations weeks before dropping him off and they never bothered to tell us our dog's vaccines were not up to date. First dog I have so I honestly wasn't aware of how often he needs certain shots but if they ask you to scan the vaccines for verification, why would you tell me on the day I drop my dog off? Thankfully, we were able to get it all sorted out but we ran late to our flight because of their unorganized business skills. As professionals, I would expect better communication skills. - second issue, my dog came back with a raspy bark. His bark is course and I am not sure why but it can't be for a good reason. He seems sad and definitely not behaving like his usual self. - third issue and it's a major one, he came back with a big wound on his mouth. Like a dog bit him!! I have left my dog in other boarding places and never did we have these BIG issues. THIS WILL BE A HUGE LESSON FOR ME. Read and believe bad review comments. We have this platform where customers can bring bad things to Light so moving forward, I will not take bad reviews lightly. I always try to give the benefit of the doubt but you must understand these are family pets! Hopefully this business stops making excuses and is willing to accept responsibility. A lot of these rashes after a cut do become exposed since they are under their fur . You pay for a hair cut not a vet visit . My dog is always smelling great , and teeth cleaned well . We also noticed blood from our dogs teeth but it's a yorkie thing (bad breath) which is why we pay for their teeth cleaning services . We recently started adding pink to her hair per the kids request and again no issues with nail cutting or pretty much anything . My dog has never came back injured , cut or anything . Last minute overnight care for my dog was very easy to arrange. The temperament check is great so I know he should be safe during free play. My only issue is they didn't give him all his food. He eats 1x/day in the AM. I measured his 3 cups and put in ziplock bag. Should've been easy but he got half his food.
