Really great job cleaning my teeth and first of all I should say coming in is so nice decorated so nice and free water when you enter. The receptionist was so welcoming, and it was really funny because she looked like a clone of one of my dearest friends's daughter. Now my dentist was lovely. This is no longer the dental practice that it was. it was sold to someone who no longer practices. There is one dentist and one periodontist that have less than five years of experience. I had horrible experiences with both of them. I did not like either of the hygentists either. All of the former staff have left except the receptionist. This used to be a great practice staffed with experienced, mature practitioners but it has been ruined. I'll never go back. read more

AVOID AVOID AVOID Wow, we have been there 3 times, and have had FIVE billing issues. The first time (for an emergency) was just me, and it was okay. I initially came on recommendation from a friend when I had an emergency and my usual dentist was out of town. Since I usually have a good checkup, I do not need a specific dentist, so I stayed here because of the convenience. Apparently between my1st and 2nd visit (with my partner) they were sold and that is where things started going south. First we got a bill and I questioned it. After speaking with the office manager and showing her my insurance and what we were billed, I was told it was their error and our balance was zero. Then we get another bill for the amount, they simply moved it to my partners bill. Again I called and had it reviewed and corrected and had the office manager Olivia confirm, 4 1/2 months later, that we owed no money. Next we went in, gave them new insurance, they accepted it, and then we had a cleaning and we left, being told we owed nothing. The next morning I get a call that I owe $200+ because the "do not take" my insurance, the insurance I gave them BEFORE my exam. Again I reached out, and was eventually told they ran out insurance and we owe nothing. Next day I am told we owe the original amount (from over 6 months ago) as they then just moved that charge to my account. I only see two options here, either they are incompetent, or they are dishonest and trying to steal. Either way, since the original owner sold out to this company, I have decided to return to my previous dentist. I cannot stress enough how you should AVOID this practice. read more

I really enjoy coming to this dentist office. I actually used to go to one near my house but my coworker recommended this one since its close to my job. I needed something closer to my job so I can go before or after work. I came here originally for a pain that I've had in my mouth for months that my previous dentist couldn't find. They welcomed me with open arms and tried to diagnose the problem. Dr. Sayeg is very patient and friendly. He has been on a quest to find out where the pain is coming from. I'm confident that we'll get to the bottom of it soon. His hygienists are fun and funny. That helps the cleaning experience to go by quickly. I always feel comfortable when I go into the office. They're on time with my appointments and their hours are convenient for my schedule. They connected me with my awesome orthodontist (Dr. Kaplan) and I'm excited that by this time next year I'll have the smile I've dreamt about for a long time. read more

If you don't mind fillings or crowns falling out of your mouth every 6 to 18 months and having it treated like a favor to put them back on for free, yeah it's a great place. The reason, you see, is because you drink Mt. Dew. Yeah. Or you don't do this or that enough. Or you smoke. Or you don't this or that. It's not the temporary epoxy or the technique, it's the patient. Always blame the patient. I tolerated this until I was quoted 400 dollars to replace a filling that had fallen off. I had asked the Good Doctor if there was room to leniency, given the great sums of money I had thrown at his business (and due to the fact that his own work failed). I was then quoted $380. They keep you informed, making scheduling a breeze, and they are so nice. I've since moved outside of the area, but I still drive back here for all my dental work. A co-worker referred me to Start Smiling after she had been and did not have to pay out of pocket (we are on same dental plan). Made an appointment a week and a half ago, but didn't receive the forms to complete until 4:50pm the day before the appointment. I check my personal email once a day and never received anything from them, except texts/emails confirming my appointment, but no forms. I figured I misheard the lady about completing forms online. The morning of, I check my email and had to complete the forms right before I left for the appointment. Got there and was told me it would cost $175 for a cleaning after insurance?!?! Apparently they do not accept PPO/PDP plans, so they can charge you whatever they want. My works dental plan has not changed over the last two years, so I think it's weird my co-worker was able to be seen without any out of pocket expense. I spoke to my insurance company and was told they can charge whatever they want since they are out of network and their rates can change every year. This place seems like a rip off unless they take your insurance. read more

A+ I recently decided to switch dentists after several negative experiences at another office in Sandy Springs. I could not be happier with Start Smiling Dental and Dr. Cherof! My hygienist was very friendly, knowledgeable, and thorough. This office has a lot of technology, which makes me feel confident that I'm getting the best treatment. Before I got there, they had already reviewed the x-rays I had sent over and only took the minimal amount to update my file. Although a cleaning is never fun, Kim did a great job and it was probably one of the best cleanings I've ever had. Dr. Cherof is a great dentist! He's very personable and easy to talk to. I like that he doesn't over recommend work to be done, but only what really needs to be done. We're keeping an eye on a few things and I trust him to tell me when it's time to take care of them. The front desk is very organized. I was able to fill out my registration online prior to stepping foot in the door. I don't understand dental insurance, but they had everything looked up before I got there. My insurance covered everything, woohoo! They offered me a choice of Netflix or Hulu to keep my mind off of being at the dentist while my teeth were being cleaned. They even did a spa wax treatment on my hands. On the way out, I was able to grab a coffee before heading back to finish my workday. Other positives: As soon as I was checked in, I was brought back. In fact, the hygienist was waiting on me! Dr. Nate is as good as they come! Super warm environment, upgraded finishes throughout, very technologically advanced facility, and they took a bazillion pics of my teeth for analysis and accuracy. Tamara was a joy to hang with as she prepped me & Lori jetted through my cleaning with precision. Not to mention I had my 1st cavity ever... the entire team made me feel at ease and the process of filling it wasn't anywhere near as bad as I thought it would be!! No seriously, scale of 1-10 the pain was a 1 & I'm a baby y'all. Dr Seyag is the best dentist I've ever had hands down. His staff is absolutely amazing. They pay so much attention to detail and making their patients feel comfortable. They schedule me with my usual hygienist without me having to ask but honestly I like all of the ladies. Appointments are always on schedule, I've never had to wait long for my appointment. The staff is accommodating with scheduling and payments as well. I had really bad anxiety at the dentist but a few years with these guys and I'm healed. I don't dread going to the dentist anymore. I can't say enough good things about my experience at start smiling dental. Dr Seyag has fixed a lot of bad dental work that I had done previously and was worth every penny. Dr. Sayeg was so personable and I did not get the sense that he was trying to pressure me into any additional services. He simply made recommendations based on his assessment and let me decide whether I'd like to proceed.
