My 7 month old puppy with high energy loves this place. We pull up and he is already vocal about being there. He has been going for two weeks now and I can't even complain about one thing. The owners are always so nice the staff always greet you with smiles on their faces. They are always prepared to tell you how your puppies day has been. Booking, paying, and scheduling are so easy online, phone and even in person. My puppy always comes home one tired little pup happy as can be. My dog recently boarded here for a week. Drop off was smooth , as was pick up. Starwood was very accommodating for any hiccup that came up before our reservation and after pick up. The only thing I wish was that pictures were uploaded to their booking site, since I don't have FB I wasn't able to easily access them. I've had two dogs go regularly to daycare and board there - so I've been bringing my dogs since 2011. This place is awesome and both dogs would run to the door to be let in, and are appropriately tired once they get home. They are willing to work with dogs who may be shy at first or need socializing, and I credit them for socializing my first puppy, who ended up being one of the most laid pack and agreeable dogs I've ever had. I moved in that time frame but am still willing to drive the 1 hour round trip to bring my dog at least once a week! Staff is very friendly and the prices are reasonable and they offer a lot of services for your dog during its stay. My dog Lizzy came out unscathed and no issues. She did pick up some kind of respiratory sickness after her stay but she was brought to the vet and given antibiotics to treat it. Other than that I had a good experience. Even with your dog being fully vaccinated and up to date with all their shots and hoping the other boarded animals are as well, you still run the risk of them getting kennel cough or whatever. If you can't handle that then maybe you should find other options to house your animals. These things just happen. The only thing I suggest is to update your website. Although nothing can change what happened at starwood. the co owner did refund me for the boarding. They could really use improvements with telephone customer service telling people about what they offer on the website as there is actually a lot of good information on there that made me choose them. but nothing was talked about when I called, I felt rushed the first time I called. Talking about the different options like bringing in food with reduce cost and the different rooms the website offers, I may have opted for the quieter option as my dogs have never boarded, telling people like me that have never boarded ABOUT boarding and where dogs will be and where they poop and explicit on interaction with other dogs as I assumed there would have been, and cost that goes with that, and also having experienced adults working the desk checking people in and out. (or have a paper at the desk for everyone to have when on phone that lists what they should and shouldnt be saying on the phone at every call and when checking them out let the owners know how they did, people like me would have appreciated that instead of checking them out like baggage ) And taking reservations, If I never called to ask questions I never would have found out that we didnt even have a reservation that I made weeks prior. Its unfortunate that because of this experience, boarding will never be an option again . read more

Unfortunately I would never leave our dog there again. First when we checked in I asked our dog be groomed when we picked him up in a week . When we returned to pick Carl up he was never never groomed when I questioned it I was told oh we must have missed that . We took Carl home only to discover he had a horrible case of kennel cough . Yes he had his bordela shot . Obviously they are very lax in cleaning. Not to mention the general look of the place was let's say less than appealing. If we weren't leaving that same day I would have searched for something else . Never again. read more

I sent my dog twice to this place and got sick every time. They didn't even tell me that my dog was sick when I picked it up. Manager ( Owner-Tom) of this place is unbelievably unresponsible! Our dog Mr. Spock (Siberian Husky) loves this place. He gets so excited when he arrives, and he is a little less excited when he leaves (I think he wants to live there full-time - LOL). Although, it is stressful for both my babies and myself, I know they are just a phone call away! The first time I boarded my dogs, I called every day to check on them. I've been taking my dogs to Starwood for at least 7 years now. Tom and his staff are always accommodating and treat my dogs like their own. I don't have to worry about how they're doing while I'm away because I know my dogs enjoy their stay. Every time we board at Starwood my dogs are excited to get out of the truck and get inside. They pull on their leashes to get in the building. One of my dogs had a medical emergency while boarding last year and I was vacationing too far away to simply fly back. Tom handled it for me, kept me updated with calls and emails, and gave me peace of mind. I couldn't have asked for better. Starwood is the only kennel for my pack. read more

This facility is affordable, accountable, and accessible. I've brought my dog here maybe 3 or 4 times for extended stays. No problem at all. Like the above comment mentioned, our dog did not eat all of his food. Perhaps, though, that had a lot to do with change of environment. I have been bringing my very energetic lab to Starwood for 2+ years he attends daycare 2 to 3 days a week, I work long hours and Starwood has been a great place for Chase to get excercise, he is socialized with many other dogs. I also board Chase for Vacation's. I cannot say enough great words about the owners and Manager. The professionalism,experience and team atomosphere at how Starwood is operated is excellent. My husband and I were so hoping this pet care facility would be a good one. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed. We left our dogs for a long weekend. When we picked them up, half of their food was still left, their nails had not been clipped, and my one dog had diarrhea for two days straight. We've been going to Starwood for a few years now. They really care about our dogs. Last year, we went away for almost a month. Our dog was bitten by a tick and unfortunately the tick collar did not work (we learned our lesson on cheap collars!). She got really sick and almost died! They tried calling us but we were out of the country. Our dog was taken right away to the vet, and they gave her the medicine and explained everything to us in detail when we returned. My two dogs spent the last four days at the Starwood Pet Resort. This is the third time I have used them to board my dogs. My dogs love it there. When I picked them up they where happy, looked rested and saw no signs of weight loss. I bring the proper amount of food plus a little more for each dog in their own container. Each time I get the container back with the little extra food I put in just in case. One of my dogs need's medication nightly. The amount of pills used was accurate. As I requested, both dogs received grooming before I picked them up at a additional cost. They looked and smelled clean. I brought a blanket they use when they kennel at home. This reduces stress. The blanket came back clean and folded. The staff has always been professional, pleasant and attentive to my concerns and requests. They even accommodated my request to post/send me pictures of my two dogs on Christmas! Above and beyond. My two dogs where not the only two there but they made me think that they where by the care they received. Very satisfied. read more

I've used this Kennel for the past three summer vacations. The first year was great. The last two years my dog came home skinny with about half of her food still not eaten. This past year I addressed the problem before I left and included canned food to maybe help her appetite. They assured me they would take the time to make sure she ate. I was very clear that I was concerned and to please call if she wasn't eating or showed signs of stress. They didn't and when I called assured me she was well. I also feel like the value is very low in comparison to what other much better kennels in the area charge. In the basic cost no playtime is included. All playtime is extra and the exit Bath is not discounted for long term guests like their competitors are. If you add play time they are much more expensive than their competitors. I've giving them two stars because I believe they are genuinely nice people, they are just over priced for what you get and under staffed. I will not be using them again. read more

I am writing this review late due to its been six months since we have left both of our dogs at Starwoods and can not take it anymore and found their business card. They both are still sick!!!.They came home all nerved up with Nasty habbits eating there own debree and licking their own pee. Had to take them to the Vet to clear the bacteria infection they have both contacted..The habbit they have developed still can not be broken. The vet said it might take up to a year to recondition their nasty behavior.What the hell happened at the Starwood Resort!!! They have never been the same and I would never take them back there ever again. read more
