State bridge Lodge will be your home away from home! Everything thing about this place is perfect. The cabins, yurts and tents are very well kept and clean! The communal space is perfectly set up to hang with friends, relax and have a great time. Mason is your one stop shop and he's an amazing host, if we needed something he had it. Mason has completely turned this place around from previous ownership in the best way. 15 of us stayed for four nights for a bachelor party weekend and we were very well accommodated the entire time. Mason has a great variety of rafts paddleboards dingys e-bikes etc. to ensure you really get the true Colorado experience. read more

For the record all the 1 star reviews are from the old ownership! Mason turned this place around. The cabins are very nice and the bed was comfy. They regulate their temperature very well throughout the day and night. If you have no idea what to do, Mason is there to help you. Even brought me out pancakes as we were packing up our last day. read more

Cannot recommend State Bridge Lodge enough. Just look at our view from the cabin looking over the Colorado River! What a special place (Teddy Roosevelt stayed at Cabin 3 at State Bridge Lodge back in 1903!!!). When we come back and have more than a few days will definitely be coordinating some E-Biking, fly fishing, white river rafting with Mason.....cannot wait to come back! I want to see the Dinosaur footprints down river !! High speed Fiber Internet & Clean bathrooms. 5 Stars!! read more

Wow.. Harsh reviews. My friend and I stayed one night in cabin 11 and thought it was amazing. Just what we needed to get away from the grind. We unplugged, no internet or phone service and it was fantastic. We had our own little fire pit, and all the cabins come with mini fridge and microwave. We went walking around and there was no live music on Friday, but the band came out to practice for about and hour all acoustic. Walked to the water and meditated throwing a few rocks. Amazing. There is a train that goes through around 3am, so watch for that and we did have a chipmunk visitor steal a protein bar. Will be back. read more

Just spent the weekend at State Bridge...SO disappointing. First of all, we were literally the only ones there. All the cabins and yurts appeared to be vacant. There is no where to eat since the restaurant burned down, and no where to socialize since the new owners never bothered to rebuild the bar either. Secondly, there's litter all over the property, and there's just a general state of neglect and abandonment there. What a waste after all the renovations done in the past few years. I have stayed at State Bridge probably 12 times over the last 20 years, and I've never seen it so desolate. It's really sad. All I can hope is that the owners get it together and get a bar/restaurant going or SOMETHING. I can't see how they are making it just doing a lame "Bloodies and Bluegrass" on Sundays and an occasional show. I will keep my eye on State Bridge from afar and hope for better days ahead. read more

We stayed last night, and are already gone; we planned to stay a month. Doug, the owner, spoke to my husband 4 times about reserving a yurt, but he double booked and would take no accountability, he wanted us to change from yurt to cabin and back; when I asked to look at the cabin everything went south. We couldn't have a conversation with him, he trails off, forgets things, and gets very frustrated. He would roll his eyes and sigh every time I spoke; he told me the way I ask questions is too contentious. He also disregarded my disability and health problems, couldn't slow down to match my pace and didn't listen when he was told that I can't walk as far as ablebodied people. The picture shows the parking spaces across the lot from the yurts, not accessible. The previous reviews are right, bugs, loud trains that rattle your teeth, cracks and holes taped with duct tape. And we were still willing to give it a shot, but after meeting the owner I couldn't wait to get out of there. Something's up and I didn't want to wait and see Doug's behavior get worse. He can't handle confrontation or assertive women and seems to conflate the two; don't waste your time or gas driving out there. I wish I hadn't talked my husband into ignoring the reviews. read more

Note: this is just for the shows at State Bridge Amphitheater- I have not stayed in the Yurts or lodging there.....just camping up the road. Yes, it has gotten more expensive than what it used to be a few years ago- when camping and the shuttle were pretty much included. That being said, this is one of my favorite places to see a show in Colorado- lots of cool people, and a pretty unique venue. You get right up close and personal too. One year we got to watch BoomBox do their afternoon soundcheck. You even get shuttled to the show as you aren't allowed to walk along side the road. Some tips: **As mentioned in another review- do watch out for speed traps on the road leading in. ***If you are there for a weekend and wake up at 6am the moment the sun comes over the hill and scorches you in your tent....just head down to the river, or up to Rancho del Rio up the road....you can hang out there and hang out in the river all day until it cools down. read more

It's very disappointing to arrive here when you had high hopes. Do not use their website or glampinghub.com as a reference to stay here or not. It is completely misadvertised. It's disheartening because my husband and I had been on the road all day driving cross-country & we were excited to arrive here. The owners do not maintain the property & a bunch of careless 30 something stoners run the place after office closes. We arrived and were told that their would be some music being played in the venue. It was only 8:30pm at this time so I figured it wouldn't be a big deal for an hour or two. Well, it was a nightmare. Loud obnoxiously drunk men sang random old rock ballads loudly off key into the microphone. It sounded like wasted frat boys doing karaoke. They continued to do 'sound checks' through 3:30am. It honestly freaked out dog out so much that he put his paws over his eyes and was whimpering all night. We also felt weird that the people working there seemed so unprofessional. You can still have an open mind and be professional, but apparently yurt/teepee guests are ignored here. Which is odd being this is the type of business they are running. I wish I would've read the horrible yelp reviews before booking. There is so much wrong with this property. The entire business model is a mess. Their is no restaurant or bar as advertised. No access to food or anyway to buy bottled water....or access to water accept in bathhouse. The yurt we were assigned was furnished with curbed furniture that looked like it was found by the road. Nothing looked sanitary to sit on. The mattress sagged so badly in the middle, our dog wouldn't even sleep on it. The mattress was also stained so badly. The yurt had multiple areas where bugs kept getting in and out yurt was swarming with gnats and Mosquitos all night. This place has zero amenities---no bath towels?? They only mention to bring own bed linens, but no mention to bring own towels. Because of this poorly ran property, my husband and I were left with no choice but to check out at 5am with about an hour and a half of sleep and 13 hours of driving. Advice, $75 a night is way too much for this dump. Please stay in a hotel in Vail or splurge and spend a little bit more to stay in a safe place ran by professional adults. This place makes Colorado look bad. read more

Stay away from this place at all costs. The guy running check in seems like he's smoked away every brain cell away. He struggled just getting our group checked in. We stayed in the yurts which were all in different levels of disarray. Like one previous reviewer stated, the furniture was probably found on the side of the road. Listened to some live music and found the venue to have a lot of potential. The same guy who checked us in was running the bar. He randomly started yelling at everyone there and then proceeded to chain the entry doors closed so we were locked inside. After that debacle and music was long over everyone tried to go to bed. Someone decided 3-4am was a perfect time to practice guitar in the concert venue. Keeping our whole group awake. Just stay away, save yourself the trouble and the false imprisonment. read more

Without a doubt the worst place I've stayed at. My husband and I stayed in one of the yurts and it was filthy. Upon checking in, one of the very high workers walked down to grab the trash and considered that "clean". The sheets were used and dirty, the floor filthy, and later that night we found out there were mice that had chewed a hole into the yurt. They tried to fix the hole by covering it with magazines and used food boxes. The deck was graced with broken furniture and the shower house was the dirtiest I've ever seen with moldy curtains and tile and the terrible stench of mold. This is not a place I would ever, ever stay again. Interestingly, we should've known better considering it was Labor Day weekend and they had full occupancy. Actually...I'm not sure why we didn't check out immediately. read more

My husband and I just got home from visiting Statebridge Lodge. We have stayed here in the past although this time was not pleasant. When we checked into cabin 11 there was someone's dirty stuff all over, dog blanket, comforter and hoody. We kindly removed it and placed it in the porch. Upon entering the room, we noticed this was NOT like the cabins we have staying in during our prior visits. It seemed to be as if someone was living in there and there was not proper bedding on the bed. I went back to the front office and the man there said that he would figure out whose it was and didn't apologize or offer anything. I looked into all the other cabins as people were at happy hour and there cabins were furnished as I remembered. This was NOT the way ours was furnished. We also did not have any bath towels in the cabin. There was no one available to talk to at checkout. $210 to sleep in someone's dirty bed is outrageous. I would have kindly paid the price if our experience was like it has been in the past. Unfortunately not the case here. read more

I was excited to see their website and book a cabin for 2 nights over the phone. When we got there, we unloaded everything from my car and headed to the cabin. Upon opening door of the cabin, there was a very strong smell of a wet dog... I opened the door an saw inside of a cabin with unmade bed There was no covers on the bed so I can instantly see that the condition of the mattress looked as if it was just pulled out of the dumpster, spot stains from...you can only imagine. The mattress looked so spotty as if it was full of bed bugs. The odor in the mattress was if someone was just got sick over it and threw up. The bed covers were sitting on the side chair...bad odor in the covers as well. The inside of the cabin was so run down(nothing like the pictures online) and the odors were everywhere, the floor and walls of the cabin. I could not stand to stay in this cabin, it was in such terrible condition and such strong smells of wet dog and dumpster that I could not stand stay inside even with the door open. I went to the cabin keeper and expressed that the condition of the cabin was by any means good for anyone to stay in and I'd like to get my money back as I need to search for alternative lodging. He refused to issue a refund and said that i can talk to the owner who was nowhere to be found... At this point I was very frustrated and felt that this was a fraudulent business practice read more

State Bridge sucks now. If you go, there will be a cop waiting at 4 Eagle Ranch who will give you a $170 speeding ticket. Then you'll either have to pay $10 for parking or $15 per person per night to camp. Tickets into the show cost $20 per person and the shows there lately have not been great. Then a coors light will run you $5 each plus food, etc., etc. It's going to be an expensive weekend that's probably not worth it given the caliber of music and the lack of people that attend concerts there now. We spent a week here with our 2 kids and 2 dogs and had an amazing time. The cabin was a perfect escape from the everyday hustle and bustle. The cabin is akin to camping with electricity, heat, and beds. Our cabin had 2 full size beds, a sleeper sofa, a mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker, electric burners, a fan in each bedroom, a grill, and a table with 2 chairs. The bathrooms are 1 cabin down, were always clean and warm with plenty of hot water. It was a great home base for exploring Vail, Glenwood Springs, and Steamboat Springs. We had a fantastic adventure and reconnected as a family since our electronics weren't readily useable. We played board games, cards, star gazed, strolled through the area to explore, and unwound together. We couldnt have asked for a better home base and we will be back again. Doug was a great host and we truly enjoyed our escape to the mountains. Just a tip that the in room coffee maker is a keurig type. I purchased a reusable filter basket to make coffee with but they dont fit in the machine. Make sure you bring keurig cups with you or stop in the store to grab a few to tide you over. There is a freight train that runs through the area but it never woke any of us up. We sleep with fans on at night for white noise and it was enough to temper the train horn to sleep through it. read more
