State Farm Claims: Bad Faith in Action My recent experience with State Farm Claims exposes exactly why so many customers are fed up. My body shop repeatedly submitted documentation for additional approval, yet State Farm dragged its feet, waited until the end of the repair process, and refused to send out an estimator when serious damage was discovered under the paint. The adjuster, Mr. Hernandez, was completely intransigent. He ignored the realities of the repair, refused to pay for alignment, and flatly denied a modest $250 charge necessary to get the job done right. Instead, State Farm expected me to pay out-of-pocket. That's not indemnification--that's bad faith insurance practice. This isn't just my story. Reviews show State Farm Claims holding an F rating, and now I understand why. They refuse to pay fair wages to technicians, deny reasonable repair costs, and shift the burden to policyholders who already pay high premiums. The deeper truth is this: State Farm does not make indemnity central. Their goal is to save money for the guys at the top--like their fat president, Jon Farney--who only seems interested in getting fatter in his pocketbook while customers get cheated. It's important to note: I am not criticizing my local agency. This complaint is aimed squarely at the State Farm Claims Department, which seems more concerned with cutting corners than honoring contracts. And here's the bigger picture. The CEO of State Farm, Jon Farney, has donated thousands to the company's political PAC. While there's no evidence tying him directly to MAGA politics, customers deserve to know where leadership's priorities really are--because from the outside, it looks like profit and politics come before people. State Farm Claims has shown me, and many others, that they are not living up to their promises. Customers deserve accountability, not excuses. #StateFarm #BadFaith #InsuranceFraud #CustomerAbuse #AccountabilityNow #StateFarmClaims #InsuranceScam #PolicyholderRights #CorporateGreed #FightBadFaith #InsuranceAbuse #ConsumersDeserveBetter

State Farm has a lot of reviews and rates one star! Wow! I thought it was just a bad State Farm Agent that turned me off. I had State Farm for years and years insuring both my home and cars. They gave me a package deal. I had safe drivers discounts too. At work I received a lot of training in money management. My employer wanted to be sure we had enough for retirement. So after having training about savings on car insurance I approached my agent to remove unnecessary coverage. It was at this time things got ugly. I ended up canceling my insurance and going with another company that was much easier on my wallet while still providing the coverage required by law. I wouldn't use them again unless they have changed their ways.

I called and canceled my policy last month due to not being informed that my premium went up and they withdrew an extra $200 out of my account that was not budgeted for. I called customer service and she stated my policy was canceled and that she couldnt stop the automatic bank draft due to the day of the month and someone will contact me on Tuesday. NO one called or contacted me. I called back again and spoke to someone who stated my policy was canceled and that she will get the information over to Ashley Caudle Agent License # Al 427539 and she will reach out to me. Today I received a email reminder of payment due in five days and I called to check on the cancellation. She was very rude and stated she didnt want to hear all of that and will cancel my policy and wasnt concerned about the issue and stated the first representative noted I was concerning cancelling my policy and that was not what I advised the representative. I asked if she wanted the new policy and she stated no she didnt need it. This is unacceptable and poor customer service at it's highest. I dont understand how people take a good to deal with the public and have no people skills, compassion or any intentions on helping them. This is just cruel, awful and sad. read more

I am in shock today. My cousin who jointly owns a home with her now ex-husband has been thrown on the street by State Farm after the home was damaged by a hot water pipe explosion. This is in Georgia. She and two small boys lived in the house as per the Court order while the house is to be sold and equally divided. As part of the divorce, he should continue paying the mortgage while she is responsible for its upkeep. The title is in both names. State Farm found a place for her and the boys to live, then this morning July 28th, after the ex-husband went to the local office where he has friends they canceled her place, telling her she has no claim and now she and her boys are on the street. This woman paid her deposit for her home and like most couples the bill was split in the house. Her name is on the DEED. what gives State Farm the right to tell her she has no claim to her home? The court ruled that the house belongs to both, but that with the exception of a coach and some gym equipment he owned nothing else in the house. Now State Farm tells her she owns nothing and she has no claim. How heartless and cruel can people be? This cannot be legal, I would not recommend State Farm, and certainly not the office in McDunnough County in Georgia. I hope someone from the head Office will see this and PLEASE HELP!!!!!! read more

Accident was on Feb.2nd 2023 the at fault driver was covered by State Farm Insurance. I was able to drive my vehicle to the body shop on Feb.27th to get the damage repaired, but because of the lack of communication between the estimator for State Farm, and the body shop I was out of a vehicle for 72 day's. I made numerous calls to State Farm, to get information as to why it was taking them so long to get estimates and supplements approved, and never once was able to speak to one person. In total I spoke to 10 different people, and nobody could give a straight answer. It seems the left has no clue what the right is doing. I was finally able to pick up my vehicle on May 9th 2023. Now I'm trying to get my Loss of use claim for the 25 day's State Farm approved (I have my reservation number as proof) and it has been a royal pain. By law they are to compensate for my loss of use of 25 day's for F-150 or like vehicle at the cost of 53.81per day. Totaling $1345.25. I guess my next step is to contact BBB, and maybe a civil case lawyer to get this resolved. Stay clear of State Farm Drivers People! read more

I have been a customer of State Farm for about 50 years and have always had excellent service until recently. I now see what other people mean when they say "they wouldn't use State Farm" for their insurance needs. I haven spoken to more claims adjusters and managers than I can possibly remember. Their answer has always been "the claim has been paid and there is nothing we can do to help you". The fact that I am a widow with a 55 year old son with Down Syndrome and End Stage Renal disease does not even concern them. I need to take him to dialysis three days a week and they have made it impossible for me to get insurance that I can afford. State Farm is more expensive than most companies but until now I have thought it was worth the extra money, however, I have found out that they really don,t care about their customers--they are only interested in their bottom line Ann H. read more

The worst possible insurance. I was in a minor car accident when some one purposely side swiped me. I reported my case to State Farm immediately. One year later the opposing party's insurance filed suit stating it was my fault without a shred of evidence. For some bizarre reason State Farm (my insurance) cited it was 70% my fault without the opposing party's insurance giving a shred of evidence. Same day, I cancelled my home/auto policy with State Farm and saved over 2k a year going with a combo of Geico/Farmers insurance. read more

I made a claim on April 23rd on my vehicle being stolen (Hyundai Sonata 2016) It is now 05/15/2023 and I have yet to receive a response as to what the outcome of my vehicle will be. my Claim agent and has shown ZERO empathy/sympathy regarding my situation, instead he sounds frustrated. I am on a rented vehicle not knowing what is happening, paying for it weekly since my initial claim. Everytime I have called no one has answers for me including him. The only time that I get an answer or even know anything is when I call. I have spoken to the people on his "team" and they know nothing. The information they give me is the one I get from the text. NOTHING. I asked to speak to a manager or a supervisor and the lady refused to transfer me or even give me a name due to the fact that they "work as a team" and she simply couldn't do that. I am a client! with a concern! with a situation! my Claim Agent told me he would have an update on Monday the 15th (today) but when I called the office on Friday, the answering machine stated he would be out of the office until the 17th. He did not even communicate that with me (his client). This is ridiculous! I need answers! and no one knows anything. read more

StateFarm forgot to tow my car of the freeway, left it there for CHP to impound, and then wouldn't pay for the impound fees. My car was broken into while it was on the side of the freeway. All my belongings were stolen. No one has called me about my claim yet. Everyone who was supposed to call me back never did. I cannot wait to sue them for all the trouble they put me through. Why do i even pay for insurance each month if they're not going to take care of me when i need them to? read more

Absolutely horrible experience. I'm a sales associate with a big Nissan dealership. I send tons of clients to State Farm every day. My customer needed to get insurance transfer from existing car to the new one, a process that should have taken 15 minutes at most. Armani (Agent # S13) took 2 hours and 20 minutes and in the end couldn't get me the ID card for the client. Tells the client to leave with a new car with out an insurance card (which is illegal in the state of NY). I still needed to call back and speak to a professional agent Allison who took care of everything in 10 minutes. State Farm - if you are going to hire new people, train them properly. Spending 2 hours and a half on the phone to do a replacement is not how anyone wants to spend a Sunday. I got better things to do! read more

My daughter was in a car accident 12-03-22 and this auto claim has been a nightmare! The vehicle was supposed to be towed that day to repair shop but never happened. The 2nd shop, who agreed to accept, never received the vehicle. The vendor that StateFarm uses to hire tow company stated "too late to drop car off, repair shop won't accept it ", which we confirmed was due to the delay of the tow company. So instead of delivering the vehicle, they left the car in a tow lot nearby in efforts to increase the amount of storage fees StateFarm would have to pay. We were told at one point StateFarm didn't even know where the vehicle was for several days, not to mention my family made countless calls everyday this week to claim dept and repair shops to get this vehicle towed/repaired. We eventually reached out to our State Farm agent to help resolve this issue. State Farm agents as well as 2 of the claims reps, Pete and Tanya were helpful. However, the claims supervisor, Diana Mason assured me everything was taken care of and never followed the claim to insure that it was. I have been told that the vehicle will be dropped off 12-19-22 but repair shop can't begin working on it until 2nd week in January. StateFarm has definitely dropped the ball and we are seriously considering going elsewhere! read more

I have been a loyal customer for I don't know how long and when I need to use my policy, I get NOTHING!! State Farm has lost documentation, a specialist has gotten rude with me and I've had ZERO communication. My daughter is in a hot house and my insurance has done nothing to help! I am glad that I don't have to deal with this company and if I have to I would first talk to an attorney. They refused twice to repair my girlfriend's car because they have to pay another vehicle first because the policy owner only has $10,000 liability and it was more than one car involved. But the funny part is that I check the value of the other car involve in the accident in the blue book and it doesn't worse $5,000.00. My girlfriend car value is much greater and the repair cost around 3 to 4 thousand. read more

World's worst experience dealing with the idiots at this company when one of their insured drivers slammed into my car on the freeway. Trying to negotiate any kind of settlement added to the accident trauma because of their employees' threats and just plain being mean and nasty, which seems to be a defining characteristic of those employed by State Farm. After this experience, one can only wish that every single person employed by State Farm gets into a horrible car accident caused by one of their insured so they will have to endure the same torture that they inflict on others. Drivers, give your money to any other company besides State Farm! read more

State Farm is the worst insurance company. A lawyer told me so, years ago as he defended us from a drunk driver who's car jumped OVER the road median and hit us head-on at 70 MPH. She was insured by State Farm. They refused to pay even our medical bills and gave us nothing for totaling our car! My husband had a pneumothorax, I had four broken ribs, a broken clavicle, two broken teeth and a screwed up knee. They made us fly across the country at our own expense TWICE! Once to be deposed, (which they could have done over the phone) then again for the trial. The jury did award us medical benefits, but we never got anything for the pain and suffering or all the time and money it took to fly back-and-forth twice, and gave us nothing for the totaled car. The lawyer said that they were always the MEANEST company, and that the State Farms lawyers were the NASTIEST. Beware!!! read more
State Farm is all about sluffing off responsibility to their agents, and agents love sluffing off that responsibility to their corporate master After getting nowhere with my agent 5 months after the closing of my home purchase (home owners, already had vehicle insurance x2), I contacted corporate. They, unfortunately, are "unable" to tell me anything about my HO insurance, other than the fact that it is inactive. Why? "I don't know." Who can I talk to? "Your agent" I don't want to talk to that guy ever again. "I can give you a directory of agents". I tried that, and failed, because I was told I can't switch agents whenever I want to. "uh..." Yeah. Unbelievable. This was after multiple cancellation notices for HO for no reason other than "lack of documentation" which was all my agents responsibility. I received a full refund of funds paid through escrow two months after closing, clearly indicating that I had NO insurance and was due a refund, right? Well fast forward 6 more months or so, and fast forward through three or four more cancellation notices, and even fast forward past my actual cancellation of all SF insurance and the real refund check minus three months that I may have had insurance and we arrive at a BILL from SF claiming that I owe then 3 months worth of payments for $10 more a month than what I was quoted in Oct. 2013!!! You had better believe that I did NOT pay that bill. Instead, I wrote a rebuttal and apparently, State Farm agreed with me as they send an amended statement. Find ANOTHER insurance company. read more

After 22 years I am dropping all of my State Farm coverage and urge others to do the same if they are interested in being proactive in protecting their interests. My experience has been that on an auto claim where the other driver was clearly at fault, State Farm would not act in my interest as their customer. They give you an interview and then render an absolute decision. Tired of not having an insurance comapny thats on my side. Taking my approx $350/mo worth of car/homeowners/life insurance business elsewhere. read more

Warning: This review contains lots of bitching and complaining....& A little more bitching. The claims process is an absolute pain! I got into a minor accident in Dec 2011, where the other person was 100% at fault. (There is a statute of limitations, stating that you must fix your vehicle within 3 years beginning on the date of your accident.) Being the procrastinator that I am, I waited until Nov 2014 to follow up with my claim. I think i got transferred 5 or 6 times before i finally spoke to a claims agent. In total, i waited about 45 minutes to receive help. When i finally get to a claims agent...she tells me I have 2 claim numbers, even though I am supposed to have 1. Thennnnn, she says I am responsible for ALL charges since I waited 3 years to handle my case. After I tell her that i'm 3 weeks shy of the 3 year mark...Her response is "Oh. Nevermind....You're right." (WAY TO GO BISH!) Once we got that out of the way, the agent asks me if i need to rent a car. I tell her yes. She informs me that all i need to do is go to Hertz and give them my claim #. I will be able to rent a car no problem, since they have direct billing set up with them. I ask if i need to do anything else. She says no. I follow up with Hertz on Friday to see if my claim # is in their system. They tell me yes and to come in on Saturday morning. I go to Hertz on Saturday morning and find out that State Farm is supposed to make me a reservation!! The Hertz employee tells me that nothing was set up and i have to pay out of pocket until it is settled. I step outside and call State Farm. Again i'm on hold for 40 minutes. The operator tells me that the claims office is closed on weekends AND my state farm agent's office is closed as well....so i have to wait until Monday to rent a car. UHMMMMM i thought you guys were open 24/7....??!!! Fxcking useless. I ask the operator to leave a message for the claims team to contact me asap on Monday morning. I end up renting a car, since im already at Hertz and i NEED it....I decide to deal with billing on Monday. On Monday...I never got a call back, so i decide to call State Farm. No surprise...i'm on hold AGAIN. The claims agent tells me that billing has already been set up and I do not have to pay for the car. Awesome. Thanks SF for letting me know...! Maybe if you guys called me like you promised, i wouldn't have to waste another 45 minutes of my life.....!!! read more

State Farm did everything they could to save money at my expense and on my loss. I asked questions and they gave me lawyer-like customer service reps that recited fine print and had no regard for my experience or time of need. A natural disaster sand storm destroyed the paint on my car. I dropped the car off for repairs and didn't get it back for almost two months. The repair shop initially said the work would take 7-10 days. When I asked what the delay was about, they told me that State Farm did not approve all repairs. In order to try and save money, State Farm approved repair work incrementally. On day one they denied a full repair. They try to short change the customer by giving the car back only partially repaired. If you don't accept the partial repair, they will take the car back and issue more payments for repair work, but each time you wait 2-3 business days for an appraiser to go visit the car before a check is issued which takes more time, before work is ever done. I waited 38 days for this process. They work in this way to save money at the customer's expense. They have customer service representatives that recite fine print like lawyers when you start digging and asking questions. They have no regard or concern for the customer, just profit. I am a very intelligent and successful young man. I seek truth and honesty in everything I do. I expect the same in the insurance services I engage. I wanted to know why the insurance company I employ to protect me from this type of incident would leave me out in the cold and barrage me with harsh lawyer-like, cost saving customer service replies. I have called every supervisor and manager, all the way up to the CEO's office, Edward Barry Rust Jr. or Ed Rust Jr. as well as the executive he passed my phone call off to, Joshua Mitchell they can both be reached at the State Farm Headquarters in Bloomington, IL at 3097666393. No one cared about the customer's experience. The big executives act like they do, but then pass you off to a robotic, lawyer-esque "executive" customer service reps. State Farm exists for profit. In a major loss situation like this, they do everything they can to NOT pay out on your loss. When you are in a time of need, they will leave you out in the cold. If you ask questions, they give you lawyer-like customer service reps that recite fine print despite the customer's experience in a time of need.. Don't trust State Farm. read more

My experience was from dealing with a claims team out of Southern California. They are not my insurance company, they insure the at fault driver. They were very rude, and gave me the run around over a car accident that was NOT my fault for over a week. Their insured driver was out of town immediately following the accident. (So, he hit my car and then went on vacation so I have to wait for him to return before I get my claim taken care of? Neat.) So, over a week and $800 out of my own pocket later, they called today to tell me the claims process is starting and I can take my car to a shop now. (It's already been towed, an estimate is ready and I've been in a rental car for 5 days already. At least one of us is on the ball, right?) I hope I never have to deal with this company EVER again. read more

"Like a good neighbor SFI is never there" I got this insurance to protect my rental apt. Had an incident filled a claim and it took them 2 weeks to get in touch I will leave messages after message...and finally yesterday I got someone on the phone who was very rude to me regarding my claim. I think some of your agents are too rude, they need some serious training on how to deal with customers. I think I spoke with Tammy Johnson, I want to tell you that you are so rude! Like a good neighbor, State Farm is there! Until... You actually use their product for its intended purpose, followed swiftly by a reevaluation of your entire livelihood though a series of nebulous and incomprehensible algorithms, eventually leading to the mathematical decision that you are no longer a working cog in the machine that is their profit structure. Like everything else in this world, no one in the insurance business cares about you, your family, your life, or your safety. Rather, you are much like a citizen of Pan-Em: a mere servant to an invincible power structure; stick your hand in the cookie jar one too many times, and meet your fate at the business end of Katniss Everdeen's ever-true arrow. To reiterate that for the over-35 crowd: State Farm just refused to renew all of my vehicle policies because of two glass claims and three jump starts from the roadside assistance program. And if I may yell that one more time, just to be clear: GLASS CLAIMS AND JUMP STARTS. Rhetorically speaking (because I know the answer): Is State Farm FUCKING PSYCHOTIC? Glass claims and jump starts are the paper cut of the auto insurance industry! What am I to you, a seventeen year old with a history of violence and a bad coke habit? Did a tree fall on my car and expose my secret mobile meth lab? In real life, I'm a 34 year old married man with a well kept home, no at-fault accidents in 15 years, and no moving violations in 14 years. But a few dead batteries and pieces of broken glass later? "HEATHEN! MAKE HIM WALK NAKED TO THE RED KEEP TO ATONE FOR HIS SINS!" [Sorry, can't help it with the Hollywood references today, I guess] We are now actively searching for a new insurance carrier for every single policy we have... and that's a lot of policies. I guess my life motto is, "Like a good bouncer, Jason M will teach you a hard, cruel lesson the moment you mess with him." I can't wait for our new insurer, who will invariably piss us off in a few years as well, inciting yet another scathing review of this rotten scum of an industry. Hope that was clear. read more

State Farm Roadside service is the worst. I called for a tow and they told me it was going to be 40 minutes. I was like cool. 2 hours later no one is there yet. Its getting dark and not the safest neighborhood, so I call back and find out its going to be another hour. No one bothered to call me to notify me. Not State Farm or the Towing company. Why couldn't they send a text for Pete sake. What kind of customer service is that? I've worked for an insurance company before and we were never this bad. Lucky for me a tow truck was driving by and we were able to waive him down and tow us for $40.00. I mean seriously, if I pay for a tow service on my policy every month why can't I get it? I've had AAA before and the two times I called them they came within 20 minutes. Sorry State Farm I'm cancelling and moving on. I know this post probably means nothing to State Farm because they're thinking "Who cares. We have lots of other customers". Just thought I'd share my frustration. read more

I have been with State Farm for 32 years. I'm done with them period. Had a car towed from the Emergency Road Assistance. Damage was done. They sent the claim to Agero Customer Recovery. The car sat for a full week waiting for an answer. I had to get to and from and my State Farm Agent said get the car fixed. After 19 days it was given to an adjuster. At 21 days they told the part had been compromised and taken off the car. I should have taken pictures of the damage on the car so they were going to do nothing. $1,000 and nothing! Well someone should have told me what they needed to have a fair chance . I took pictures of the damage part after it was taken off after sitting a week. 1 Star Ok, so you spam my mailbox and I understand that, you're a s****y insurance company that's desperate for new customers. I guess the lady to speak with out here to be removed from the list is Deborah Diggs (661-663-1000), but Deborah hasn't gotten to the part of her on the job training where they teach her to RETURN HER F***ING MESSAGES!! After 2 messages and 4 attempts, I figured Deborah doesn't answer her phone, so I ended up speaking w/ someone else in marketing that supposedly took me off the list. We'll see. She did say that it could take 3 months....I'm ok w/ that, got a few more one star reviews I can send this way until it stops. read more

Worst experience I've ever had in my life. Was in an auto accident back in June 2020. Was driving straight down the road when a Temp drive pulled out of a driveway head first right into my passenger side door. Police were called and found the other driver at fault. About 3 weeks later got a letter saying they were declaring compareitive liability and blaming me 60%. We both have State Farm. When I called the Agent, she got an Adjustor on the line wherein I was told that "There was evidence that put me at at fault but they weren't allowed to tell me what it was.". All the while my Agent sat on the phone and said nothing. I was told I could dispute it but none of the Adjusters, Specialists, or my Agent would tell me how. When I finally got ahold of a Manager, I was rudely told that this was their final decision and that they would not accept any more info as the "case was closed.". Any other questions I had where answered with ",I can't tell you thay." Go with literally any other Insurance company. Would give zero star is I could. read more

We wanted to withdraw money from my husband's universal life policy because we need money towards a downpayment on a house. We called to see why we owed $6500 as we saw on his online account. We now understand that In 1998 my husband opened a universal life policy for $100k. About 4 years later in 2002, he needed extra money and wanted to withdraw from his policy. Somehow he ended up with a loan instead and then borrowed $854. He was set up on a $15/month payment plan. Today, the amount owed from that loan is $6900! A few years back his policy was reduced from$100k to $97k. We have called to understand how this happened and we were told that back then, State Farm had hard to understand universal life policies and terms and my husband likely did not understand what he signed up for when he got the loan. It is widely accepted that not all customers--or even all insurance agents--fully understood years ago how borrowing could undermine a universal-life policy. We were told that interest is not included in the payment and he gets a yearly bill for interest. The loan its self must be paid off after years of $15/month so why is he still paying it? The initial $854 should have been paid off in 6 years if it was principal only! The interest "bill" that comes once a year does not look like a bill! Every year we have gotten one, we mistook it for a yearly statement because It does not have a due date, if it is not paid by a certain time there is no second notice, no one calls to say we are late- nothing. It does not look like a normal State Farm bill. Only when I called to ask about this, it was explained to us that if it's not paid, they automatically add the interest to the outstanding loan balance every year. We had no idea about this! No one has asked us if this is what we wanted, State Farm takes the liberty to do this as a "courtesy". Had we known or understood that we were supposed to pay this interest bill, or if it looked like a normal bill- we would have arranged to pay it every year. And why is the interest not just included in the monthly payment we make? Why is he still being charged $15 a month for $854 that should have been paid off? Why has none of this been explained to us? Why would our agent of 18 years allow a $854 loan to turn into $6900 over the years and not help us understand what was happening? Why not suggest a higher payment or make us aware that interest wasn't being paid and the amount is getting so high that $15/month will never pay it off? We have 5 policies with State Farm and they call and send a notice if anything goes wrong and our monthly payment doesn't go through. They make sure to do this so that our past due amount doesn't get out of control and so our policies don't lapse. Why hasn't anyone done the same for this high interest that has accrued? They admit that we likely didn't understand and the once a year interest statement should be worded differently to help customers understand. Also, why was the initial amount of the death benefit reduced by almost $3000? Was that supposed to pay down the interest? It is so confusing! We called headquarters on 6/24 and they were rude and offer no solution. State Farm is supposed to be like a "good neighbor" and be there for their customers as they claim. We have been loyal customers since 1998 and yet received no help or understanding. I want State Farm to refund and reverse this outrageous $6900 interest. We will never be able to pay this off. I also want them to change their statements and paperwork to be easier to understand and clear to their customers. I want them to add a due date to yearly interest bills and make it look like an actual bill. I want them to send a notice BEFORE taking the liberty to keep adding interest every year and advise their customers on what will happen if only the minimum payment is paid on a loan. At this point we will NEVER be able to pay it back. Eventually, after all of these years, my husbands policy will lapse because of this high interest. It is not fair and it is apparent that their practices are designed to get customers to sign up for the appeal of being able to withdraw or get a loan when needed- use complicated paperwork and language and allow customers to pay only $15 so that interest will build up and they can collect a lot of money . Please do the right thing and be a good neighbor, be there for us like you say! Waive this outrageous interest! There is not enough money for us to withdraw from our pkolicy because of this confusing and outrageous interest! We have been good customers for years- please be good to us in return. read more

I had State Farm for years and had a great agent who took care of my family and I. I just moved states and had to transfer offices. Ever since then there has been nothing but disaster. The office had none of my info correct, and now wants to deny a claim! They are all passing the puck on which office is to blame, and now I'm the one suffering. Sad situation indeed! I work in customer service and if I ever treated a customer the way they treated me I would have my job on the line. Get it together State farm! read more

This is the survey I filled arder my worse service ever ... I waited there for 8 hours under the rain and nobody was fixing my problem , after I called 24 times somebody did and was the only person sermed to be worry about it because everybody else wasn't I called Several times because when I called they tell me yes we will send somebody and they didn't so when u called back they said oh but it seems like they haven't send anybody yet or this happened that we did not send the tow but even though they had an Issue they did not call me back , not profesional at all I could be out of there an hour after that happened , then the person you finally send was first harassing my girlfriend , he seems to be under alcohol or drugs influences , he was delivering another car , and when he dropped off he started kicking it after he came to me he was talking aggressively and trying to be smart to me when he was towing my car he just dropped it and my car starter running down hill until a cement border stopped it , after that my girlfriend told him to be careful with the car because it wasn't his , and he said I know it's not mine and stared at her for a minute , what kind of professionalism is that ? And after that we starter recording the whole prodded because we did not trusted him at all , we followed him while he was speeding all the was there making speed like , 50 in and 35 school area with a tow car , and beltway was goin 80 in and obvious 55 I'm completely upset and really thinking about change my endurance company read more

at 4:30ish on 11/14/2020 I called State Farm do discuss my policy and I was transferred to talk to guy who presented himself as James. He wouldn't stop interrupting me and was raising his voice at me. His exact words were "..listen..listen..LISTEN, IF YOU JUST LISTEN TO ME i can explain you...".Really? That is customer service????I am a business owner, and I have never treated any of my clients with such disrespect. I stopped him and asked , still very calm, to transfer me to a supervisor and he refused,I asked him a second time and he refused again but said he will transfer me to another CS rep. I asked for his name and first he refused to give it. I asked him again and he said - James. He refused to give last name or an ID number and told there is no need he would provide me with that information! REALLY?! This is what you call Customer Service REPRESENTATIVE for State Farm???? oh wow....This was absolutely UNACCEPTABLE! The attitude of that man was outrageous! BTW, I have the conversation recorded,so if his superiors care to hear it, I can provide it! read more

State Farm Due to the following outlined below, we will be transferring all of our Policies to a New Insurance Company . We have received no correspondence on our Wildwood Travel Trailer. We where told by Jake that we would get the same coverage across all of our Policies at a cheaper rate, this was not the case . Neglect on State Farms behalf in order to lure new customers in. Prior to this, we had Comp and Collision on our Travel Trailer through Progressive which was provided in the Original email. We had been with Progressive for many yrs and if I would of stayed with them, I would not be composing this email as the issue would of been resolved and the awning replaced. Also may I state for the record, they return calls as promised, they do not wait weeks to call back nor do they not return a call unlike your agency. Lack of response and return calls on your behalf has not proven to us what was promised when we signed up with your branch. Once we have signed with a New Agent, I will contact your office for refunds. I will be emailing the BBB and filing a complaint due to the issues stated above and falsely stating we had the same insurance but at a cheaper rate , as well as contacting the Head Quarters of State Farm . Soon to be an Ex State Farm Policy Holder Noreen W. read more

State Farm is great at collecting payment from policyholders and poor at Servicing customers. It's been three years waiting for the subornation department to collect the monies owed us. When we call them they Are rude and not willing to follow thru. I called the corporate office and they promised to get back to me And never did. As for the chairman of the company he seems Not to care, not willing to return a call or letter. As for the local agent, great a selling policy's very poor at Serving the account. Sent a email a week ago, with no response. read more

Why only ONE star. I received an email stating I was being dropped from my renter's insurance through State Farm. Currently I have multi-discount because of car and renter's insurance being covered through State Farm. I was shocked to hear I was being dropped. Prior to State Farm we were with Progressive for 15 years. We changed from progressive to State Farm because we moved from one state to another and got a better price quote. Jan 2020 My car was vandalized along with three other vehicles parked in a row and stuff were taken from my vehicle. It was my first time filing a claim. Prior to this incident I've never filed a claim. Good payment history, good driving record and no prior incidents before. I spoke with a underwriter and it was explained to me the reason from the dropped because the assumption that it could happened again and it was a new policy. I still have my car insurance through them but no longer my renter's insurance or multi-discount. I felt as if I was dropped because I filed a claim. There were no history of multiples claims.... Only ONE. I'm Just disappointed in State Farm and don't look at the company the same anymore. You can't predict what's going to happen in the future but getting dropped after filing one claim really sucks. read more

My son's car was hit by a woman in Louisiana that was insured by State Farm. After the accident, the insured left the scene of the accident without leaving a note. A witness helped for find the person and the police were called. The insured first lied to the police but then after the officer saw the evidence, she admitted that she indeed was the perpetrator. There was a police report clearly stating the damage to both cars and the insured was given a ticket for "Careless operation". The report also notes she left the scene of the accident before the police arrived. She subsequently lied to State Farm and even though there is a police report, State Farm is denying the claim. This tells me everything I need to know about State Farm as a company. I will never use them! read more

Lisa Simmons State Farm , From May 2019-September 2019 Debited money from my account and place it towards a Vehicle that I did not own . I didn't know that my car wasn't insured until I got a letter from the DMV satat that my registration was going to be suspended due to no insurance, when I first got the car I added State Farm insurance . I had to take the car back to the dealer to get service so the dealer gave me a loaner car which was A Nissan Altima .I had to put my insurance on the loaner car , when I return the loaner car three days later the same day I return the car I called State Farm's office and spoke with Matthew and told him I need to put my insurance back on my Toyota RAV4 ,Matthew never done that so the entire time I was driving my RAV4 uninsured the same day I received a letter from the DMV saying my car registration was being suspended I also received a letter from state form with the monthly insurance card as I looked at the monthly insurance card I noticed that it said Nissan Ultima, my Toyota Was never covered from May through September. When I made them aware of the mistake they still wouldn't fix the problem 1,300 dollars was taken from my account to place on a car that I did not own . State Farm said the underwriter would not reimbursed my money so I had file a complaint with the BBB informing them on what happened. State Farm reaches out to me but we did not come to an agreement due to State Farm only wanting to reimburse 347dollars our of 1,300 . I will be taking them to court for theft . Do not use State Farm! I was involved in a fender bender and a claim was filed through State Farm by the other party. State farm entered my policy number incorrectly or not at all and tried to collect from my insurance company. Geico didnt have any information about the # State Farm had provided, and sent a letter back to State Farm denying the claim. I never heard anything from State Farm regarding this. They had my complete name and phone number on file and never attempted to contact me and get the correct info. Instead they illegally sent me to collections with a company called National Service Bureau. National Service Bureau called me this morning and threatened to suspend my license immediately if I didnt pay up. I have been on the phone all morning with 3 different companies trying to clear state farms mistake and their laziness. I will now have to contact a lawyer about State Farm breaking the law because State Farm claims that they have no complaint department and no one who can talk to me regarding this. read more

I'm a widow of a State Farm Agent, who passed away Nov.16, 2018, suddenly. I was devastated to have lost my spouse of 35 years. My husband, was an employer for State Farm for 10 years, and then went into their agency program where he grew and serviced State Farm policyholders for 20 years up until his death. As the widow of a State Farm agent, I don't wish the treatment I'm been getting from State Farm on my worst enemies. I notified State Farm of my husband's loss and that's when the ball started rolling. It was now about the policyholders and my spouse's book of business that he built over the 20 years of service as an agent with State Farm. My husband's body wasn't even in the ground before they wanted to get the keys to his office and immediately put another agent in his office. I understand business must keeping going. But the way they did it was very insensitive and with no respect. I received a phone call from his field specialist, she was kind, but she was only doing what she was instructed to do and that was get the book of business as soon as possible. As a wife of a State Farm agent, they were truly not operating like a good neighbor. I was sent a large package from their Corporate Office with a laundry list of telephones numbers of who I needed to call within the company to file a life claim, retirement, banking, strategies, mutual funds, etc. The person that was assigned to help me was no help at all. She left me a voice mail, stating if I needed her help, I could contact her. Well, that would have been all well and good had she no gotten a promotion and notified me, to. let me know that my contact person would be someone else. Duh!!! My experience trying to settle my husband's affairs with State Farm Corporate Office is a horrifying nightmare and I don't wish it on my worst enemies. Each day I would make a phone call to all the different departments I was told to contact, (while grieving my spouse's death) only to encounter. 1 hour and 15 minutes hold time before speaking with someone. This was my daily nightmare while still trying to make funeral arrangements. When someone did finally answer, I would get the runaway or they were not the person handling this part and then I was transferred to someone else. This got so bad, that I had to involve another State Farm Agent, who my spouse knew well, and he even experienced the extremely long wait times before someone answered. Total Nightmare!!! I worked 10 years in the agency with my husband probably have a better understanding than someone who hasn't. I could go on about the way they mishandle this whole process, but I would have to write an entire book. As to date, I still have not received my husband's final compensation, bonus nor Life residuals, as the assigned person I mentioned earlier, sent me the wrong paperwork. Had I not called to check again why it was taking so long and holing for 1 hour, I would've not known that either. Now new paperwork was sent and I returned it, only to find out that their Legal Department is sitting on the paperwork and will not give an ETA on when it will be reviewed and when I will receive my husband's final compensation, bonus and his Life residuals. Mind you, this has been going on since November, 2018. If you are the spouse of an State Farm Agent, do know that State Farm don't care anything about their agents or employees, or for that matter spouses or families. It's all about their bottom line profit. They really need to stop using the phrase "Like A Good Neighbor, State Farm is There". They're definitely not GOOD NEIGHBORS! They don't care about their own agents, who are the front-line for State Farms growth. They could give 2 cents worth of dirt about their Agents. I'm still waiting for my husband's final compensations, bonus and Life residuals. I thank God, that my husband was very business savvy. Because if I had to wait on State Farm at the pace in which they do things, I would've been ABSOLUTELY UP THE CREEK WITHOUT A PADDLE! Yvonne W. -Widow of a State Farm Agent read more

State Farm is Tragically-corrupt, and dishonest. I started doing comparisons online in mid-October. I got a quote of something in the neighborhood of $40 or $50 dollars from State Farm. I called in to the Agent, and She said That'll be $200+ (Almost just Shy of $300.) I said there Seems to be quite a disconnect between what I was Quoted, and what you're Trying to Charge me...and, I don't think there is any way even to Bridge the gap, because you are just too high. She said "Wait a minute, Sir. There seems to be a problem with my Computer system, that is just the numbers that it Autofills-in. I was within milliseconds of hanging-up. We eventually did, however, get it down to $67. She still had all kinds of junk coverages, I had Never asked for, that she threw-in. I was happy (Sorta) with the $67 dollar rate. A few days later, I asked why we had the Uninsured/underinsured coverages on there, If I had never asked for them. I also Asked, why the Property portion was Raised without my consent, on Each of the Cars. She said she will remove the UM, and have it backdated to the Beginning of the policy, as it Should be. I said great, Thanks!! Weeks went by, and I kept asking, about the UM being on there. She said Fine, it has been taken off and I backdated it. That never happened. I called in for weeks, kept asking why it's Still on there. Nothing happened. This, After I was told it was *ALREADY* Removed!! If it is already removed, why, then, is my rate exactly the same? It didn't make sense. She stopped answering my Calls. Such a Simple request, right? Messages to her State Farm portal were Never answered. So, I emailed her repeatedly, over the course of eight weeks, 'No Response'. "Like a good neighbor, state farm is there." I also left Voicemails, which were Never returned. No email was returned. No phone call or message was Returned. Complete Radio Silence. Why, then, is is so Impossible to remove coverages that I had Never Requested, and explicitly said I didn't Want?!? She Constantly Tried to Upsell me. That was before she Stopped talking to me. Constantly. On Everything. She Added Stuff to my Homeowners' policy, Also, without my Permission. Things that I also didn't want, and had never requested. I Figured-out, that I would have Better Luck, in communicating with Another of her Staff. This worked good, for a Little While. They had me send them back these forms to Reject UM (Why, do I even need to Sign these, in the first place?) Okay, sent them back immediately, and she said she's get them over to Underwriting, and they'd remove them from All cars, and once again I was promised, in Writing, that it would be Backdated back to the beginning of the Policy. Well, you guessed it, That never happened, and, Once again, I was Left with Empty Promises. AGAIN; Days turned into Weeks, Weeks Turned into Months. And, I'm back at Calling them up Again and doing My Own Following up... for Them. It turns-out, it was Never applied. Now, my premiums went up by an Astounding 50% ...maybe This is retaliation?!? Why not went down, why went Up?!? A Marked 50% Increase, This, despite the Fact that I *Literally* am not Driving *any* of my Cars, Just in time for the Holidays state farm decides to rip us Off. Great! No Explanation was Given. We believe, She 'deliberately' Sabotaged our Premiums, so that she could get a Hefty Commission. At the Expensive, or her Own customer! Merry Christmas. A second Agent's Office, asked for the Same Forms, and Supposedly Sent them in. STILL** no change, after two months of Fighting this! Wait, after numerous More inquiries, I'm told that they Selectively-applied the UM to Just one Car....my cheapest Car! Ha! How do you Like that? I submitted the Forms for All three cars, at the exact same time, to numerous Agents, and what do I get? A partial decrease, on just One car! What! WHY?!? no backdating, STILL, to Speak of. This makes zero sense, why they would do This. Well, it Does, if you think State Farm is Just out to Scam people for the holidays. I called-in to State Farm, on the 17th of December. The representative that Answered sounded so Incredibly Supremely annoyed that I had bothered her. This, is before I explained any of the Details! She listened to my Complaint, and Said she'd get me Right-over to an Agent who would help me, and we cold, Finally, get some of these Issues resolved. "Click!" Call dropped, with a thud. This, apparently, was Deemed a 'successful' resolution phone call, by State Farm. I was given an opportunity to leave feedback on the Call, after this Disconnection which I previously had Opted-in to. I left all 1-Stars, since the agent Really didn't Help me at all. ...Nobody ever Reached-out to me on this. Merry Christmas To date, State Farm has never Once honored the Terms of all of their written, legal documents. They have not held up oral Promises. Or emails in Writing, from Multiple Agents). We never got any of this promises. Nothing, Just Lies. read more

9-10-2014 YOU ARE THE WORST INSURANCE COMPANY I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH State Farm!!!! I have been a loyal customer for almost 10 years, and the way you have treated me during these past 3+ months is DISGUSTING! YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELVES! I was in a horrible accident on May 29th that caused STRUCTURAL damage to my BRAND new vehicle. State Farm was told by the collision shop that was doing my repairs that under Nevada State Law this vehicle has to be TOTALED! State Farm said "WE DONT CARE WHAT THE LAW SAYS AND TO FIX IT!" Now during the repairs we have found out that my vehicle has a bad wire harness and computer and has the possibility of catching on FIRE! Still you harass the collision shop and say " NOW YOU NEED TO BRING IT TO A CAR DEALERSHIP TO GET A SECOND DIAGNOSTICS TEST DONE" ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!? Do you think this is a GAME?!? So now the harassment continues and the car was towed to a dealership due to the fact that it is not drivable because there is a chance it can catch on FIRE! Now the dealership does the diagnostics test and the results are the SAME! Now not only does the dealership say this car needs to be totaled, but several of YOUR adjusters, my attorney as well as the collision shop has said this REPEATEDLY, but yet you have the audacity to give the green light to have my car torn a part to put in a new wire harness and computer system! OH DID I FORGET TO MENTION THAT YOU HAVE ALREADY PUT IN OVER 10K for the repairs from the initial damages? Now we are at over 17k for the amount of damages, (WHICH IS OVER THE 65% OF THE ACV of the vehicle, by Nevada standards) and not only are you trying to put me back into an unsafe vehicle, but you are treating me as if my peace of mind does not matter and your little slogan of "YOU'RE MORE THAN A POLICY NUMBER" IS BULLCRAP! You have stressed me out to the max with this when this ordeal could have been taken care of in a matter of weeks not MONTHS! I HAVE BEEN IN A CAR RENTAL FOR 3+ MONTHS DUE TO YOU GOING BACK AND FORTH ON WHY MY CAR SHOULD NOT BE TOTALED. I have been harassed by Hertz Rental Car saying that the rental car is missing due to me having it for so long and they were going to have the police come after me and repo the rental car due to your prolonged unnecessary harassing process. GLAD TO SEE THAT YOU LIKE TO VIOLATE THE "INSURANCE FAIR CONDUCT ACT"!!!! YOU HAVE COST ME SO MUCH STRESS AND STRIFE OVER THIS ISSUE AND I WILL TELL ANY AND EVERYONE I KNOW WHAT A HORRIBLE INSURANCE COMPANY YOU ARE AND HOW YOU TREAT YOUR LOYAL CUSTOMERS! ***UPDATE 9-11-14 State Farm AND JOE HOOKER YOU ARE DISGUSTING PEOPLE! Do you enjoy harassing your customers and treating them like they are yo-yos? Do you enjoy putting them through psychological changes? How dare you call my attorney and dealership telling them at 9:54 am that you are FINALLY going to total my vehicle only to call back at 2:30 pm to say "OH NO ITS NOT GOING TO BE TOTALED BECAUSE WE ARE GOINGTO OPEN A SEPARATE CLAIM FOR THE ELECTRICAL ISSUES" ARE YOU F'ING KIDDING ME RIGHT NOW? This is how you are trying to weasel out of totaling a car by opening another claim? Have you gone BONKERS? What is wrong with you? I guess you just enjoy taking our hard earned money for our premiums only to screw us in the end huh?!? YOU ARE HORRIBLE AND DONT WORRY I WILL BE TAKING THIS TO ALLTHE NEWS CHANNELS HERE IN LAS VEGAS AND WILL BE REPORTING YOU TO THE BBB, FOR YOUR PRACTICES ARE SHADY, YOU JUST LOVE ADDING MORE STRESS TO MY LIFE HUH! YOU ARENT GOING TO STOP UNTIL YOU LAND ME IN THE HOSPITAL FROM ALL THIS STRESS YOU ARE CAUSING ME. I AM NOT A YO-YO, I AM A HUMAN BEING!!! Start acting like a company that cares about their customers instead of caring about YOURSELVES!!! read more

Avoiding Customer Service at all costs. My son was in my truck when hit by someone insured through State Farm. After several days of no contact, my insurance company asked me to contact State Farm directly because they would not return Progressives calls. When I finally reached someone after several attempts and hours on hold, I was informed that State Farm was waiting for a statement from my son and the police report before determining liability. Both statements were lies. There was no police report because this occurred on private property and State Farm made no attempt to contact my son or myself. After taking my sons statement (and another 40+ minutes on hold because they would not give a direct #) They assured my that it was their goal to determine the case as quickly as possible and they would contact me when that was ready. Several more days later, I fought through the hold line again to find that while they had all required information, they had not made a determination yet for unspecified reasons. The representative put me on hold again and finally accepted the liability because their insured driver had stated they had turned into my son who was already traveling in the lane! I used the repair shop they suggested for the estimate, and said I could make it another day or two without a vehicle because they assured me the process would be resolved quickly now that liability had been accepted. After receiving the estimate and hearing that the shop would be unable to make the repairs for over a month, I contacted State Farm again, who said they could pay the shop directly and set up a rental, for a month, if that was what I wanted to do. I said I needed to talk to the shop and see if there was a way to expedite the repair and gave State Farm the information to send a check to me. After talking to the shop, I decided to just have the estimate payed out and try and find a faster repair or a replacement vehicle. I called State Farm again and was told this was no problem and would be handled within 3 business days, as State Farm needed to verify no parts had been ordered by the shop before processing the payment. I canceled the rental as they now said they could not provide a rental if there was not a repair being made (though I have been without a car for almost 2 weeks). After 3 business days with no payment, no phone call, and nothing happening, I called back again and was told that I had never set up the payment, that the check was sent to the repair shop anyway, and that if I wanted to change anything I would have to wait 3 business days to allow State Farm to contact the shop and make sure no parts were ordered. I asked to speak to someone higher up, and was told they would initiate a request and that would take 48 hours. I am on day 17 without a car. State Farm, who has accepted liability, has NEVER contacted me. I am constantly misled, lied to and made to wait longer...as though I might just forget about the broken truck in my driveway as I walk by it on my way to walk wherever I need to go. IF you want to encourage slow, disrespectful, service that lacks basic integrity, you might consider using State Farm. If you ever need to be made whole by them and are not their customer, you should consider a lawyer from the start and save time. Worst insurance experience ever!!! read more

From March 18 to March 25, 2021 Dothan, Alabama had very bad weather which included multiple Tornadoes. My Agent Blake Guy and I have been trying to contact these people with no avail. As of today's date, April 12th, 2021 I still have not heard from neither Charles Smith nor Carey Remo (972)-657-2004. I have called continuously leaving message after message and neither have returned my call. I have even called supervisors, leaving them messages and still no one has bothered to return my call. State Farm also sent out their adjustor from Hancock Claims Consultants who stated that there was a lot of damages to the roof caused by the storms and that shingles are missing. I've gotten them several estimates and informed them that it continued to rain for the past few days, that my roof needed to be tarped. Not once have they given anyone the consent nor approval needed to get the repairs done to my home to prevent further damaging. The is now a foul mold and mildew spell in my home and they still have not sent anyone out to inspect it. Due to my medical conditions which outline asthma, having to use a c-pap and inhaler, the smell of the odor makes me sick to my stomach and interferes with my breathing. Finally they sent out Daniel from Servepro (334)-796-0768 who stated that his sense of smell was off, that his co-workers often asked him how he couldn't smell what everyone else could in a room. He was nonchalant about the smell about the mold and mildew smell within my home. Daniel from Servepro also stated that he was too big to crawl around in the attic to find the source of the smell. He only stood at the top of the stairs and looked around the garage area of the attic. Daniel's only concern was trying to get $800 from me to clean out my vents. Just like State Farm, these people only care about the money coming in. They do not care about what we are paying them to do. State Farm collects plenty of money from me every month from 10 different policies and is about to lose them all. The full repair of my roof and because of their lack of concern which caused the mold and mildew smell, to find the source of the mold and mildew smell and repair it as well. I am attaching the estimates to this complaint. My next step will be to seek legal counselling read more

Do NOT add their Roadside Assistance rider to the policy. Based on my agent's recommendation (Steve Goad), I chose to use State Farm's Roadside Assistance instead of AAA. Recently, my daughter hit a road hazard, that blew out two tires, so she needed a tow. She called State Farm Roadside Assistance thinking that they would tow the car, we would repair the tires and that would be the end of it. They sent Anytime Towing (Knoxville, TN). The driver refused to tow the unless State Farm authorized the tow, claiming that the incident had caused damage to the car. When she called State Farm back, some agent name Bryan refused to authorize the tow unless she opened a collision claim. Since she was stranded in an unsafe part of Knoxville, she had no choice but to open the claim. The tow truck then LEFT HER STRANDED because his contract with State Farm only covered roadside assistance, so State Farm had to call a different tow company. State Farm did not give the second company sufficient information so they send the wrong equipment, resulting in an additional delay getting her off the road. The driver of the second tow company (Western Towing) was exceptionally professional and concerned for my daughter's safety, but told us that he could not help us with roadside assistance because his contract only covered collision incidents. (It seems that State Farm uses its roadside assistance drivers to increase the number of collision claims for minor incidents) If our roadside assistance coverage had been with AAA instead of State Farm, there would not be an at-fault collision on my daughter's insurance record because I would have covered the cost of the two tires and alignment without making a claim and State Farm would never have known about the incident. Given that in the 5 years we have had the coverage, we have called for dead battery 3 times and a lockout 1 time. In all four instances, it took more than two hours to get assistance. In 3 of the 4 instances, I managed to resolve the problem before help arrived. If State Farm is a good neighbor, I'm moving to a new neighborhood! read more

This review is about the parent company Please share this with everyone you know. So here's my short story. I've been with State Farm for all my insurance needs for going on 20 years. In that time period there have been a couple of fender benders but most were not the fault of my family. In October my youngest got his license and promptly was cut off in a parking lot causing him to scrape another car. State Farm revoked his B average good driver discount and raised our insurance immediately instead of waiting until the rating period was over. Then in April Sean's car lost power on a downhill grade causing him to total it (2007 Pontiac G6). We explained the circumstances that caused it and requested their investigative unit check to see if his car SHOULD be on the GM ignition recall. They promised me a full report of the findings. A few weeks later they declared Sean at fault. And did not provide the investigative report. When I complained they finally sent it. After reviewing their report and discovering the magnitude of their investigative incompetence I filed a grievance with State Farm explaining the recall specifics to them as it was clear their investigator did not even read the recall to see what causes power failure. While waiting on them to review my claim the underwriting department informed my agent that effective July 1 we had to drop Sean from all our vehicles. At this point they had not even responded to my rebuttal. Here's where it gets really freaky!!! A few days ago they responded that based on the facts I presented regarding their investigation they have reversed their decision and declared Sean NOT at fault. I immediately contacted my agent to get the underwriting decision reversed. I was just informed that underwriting essentially does not care that the fault was reversed and they are refusing to reverse their decision. So State Farm can kiss my ASS!!! I will drop everything with them effective midnight June 30. They are definitely NOT a good neighbor. Buyer beware!!!!!! Please share this with everyone read more

It was not Jeremy's fault. In general State Farm is a horrible company. Now that my account is closed with State Farm I will say that my husbands truck was stolen, found, and it has taken 3 months to get the account settled. By settled, I mean completely 100% in State Farms favor. The claims handlers were so unhelpful, unintelligent, rude, and just not doing their jobs, EVER. We had zero communication through this entire process and we could never figure out why. My husband and I HAD to call them every other day to ever get any information from them and it was always another step that needed to be done, or that the company wasn't currently working on it. We pay our bill on time every month, have very standard information, and we were always misunderstood, never communicated with, never knew what was happening, and they simply didn't care to help us. You would think they would want to get the 3 month long claim our of their queue's but apparently not. No one ever would just help us. Why in the world would it take 3 months for a claim to get taken care of that was so simple? I have been wanting to get rid of State Farm for the last 2 months but were very afraid they would do something else to screw us over. I canceled today and we couldn't be happier to never work with this company again. I would not recommend this company to my worst enemy because they simply DON'T care and are out for profit to the company 100%! I think they are "cheaper" than most companies because they have to make up for how crappy they are in every other aspect. Thanks to them my husbands car has thousands of dollars in damage that State Farm "refused" to believe and we will have to be paying out of pocket for most of it. That is INFURIATING when we have worked so hard to extra "goodies" into this car. State Farm took our monthly payments and ran with it. What a joke! read more

State Farm is by far the worst insurance company there is out there! I work in the car business and going forward will advise all of my customers and Dealers not to purchase this Insurance!!!! And it will not be one customer!! I worked with dealers and customers nationwide!! As part of my job is to provide accurate information to my clients!! Statefarm is a rip off!! They contribute to the auto crimes by not processing their claims in an efficient matter, making it worst to their clients and causing more stress!!! They have unprofessional agents, managers, etc!!! They will keep telling you they have not received your fax!! How long does it take to receive a fax?!! Seconds!!! My vehicle was robbed over 45 days now and I have provided every form they have requested...they still have not made a decision making my life more stressfull!! Every 43 seconds, a car is stolen in the United States, with these statistics how can we trust Statefarm to do their job right and cover what you paid for!!! I wish I had never made the mistake of switching my previous insurance with Mercury to this piece of crap insurance. Oh and they do not use email communication! Hmm very smart from their part!! They do not want any written evidence between them and their clients...there's a lot of liability there. Their excuse for security purposes. If you are smart customer I suggest you start recording all conversations, writing down names and times and proof of everything you sent them. I would not recommend Statefarm to anyone! Got all my family to cancel their policies...eight so far and I will continue to do so...Don't want anyone continue to be part of this insurance rip off! read more

I was sued for over $250,000 for liability due to an accident with a motorcycle rider that was also insured with State Farm. The Claims specialist Laura. A. lied to try to force me to make a recorded statement. She said if I did not let them record it I would be in violation of my policy. If you read other reviews about State Farm you will see this is standard practice for them to coerce people into letting them record it. I knew I was within my rights but she bullied me for 20-30 minutes before she relented and agreed the policy did not require I be recorded. I told her I was going to report her to the insurance commissioner's office and I did. She then lied and basically said I admitted guilt in the statement I made. She claimed I said I changed lanes and hit the motorcycle and said I never saw them before I hit him. He hit me and I saw him before he hit me so it is all lies. She was allowed to continue to handle my claim even after she had a conflict of interest because i had reported her. Now she is still handling the case but has started dodging my calls and not responding to my emails and Torre her colleague hung up on me rather than answer whether Laura will ever return my calls. I finally found out from someone else exactly what lies she told. I can prove she is a liar. I am demanding they hire independent counsel, Cumis Counsel, to represent me because the attorney they give all their business to has a conflict of interest. No lawyer is allowed to represent two parties with conflicting interests unless they notify them of the conflict and they both agree it is OK for them to continue to represent them both. read more

I WAS FINED OVER $150 by the NC DMV! I DO NOT recommend this company to anyone! Very poor customer service, and an absolute disregard for state laws and regulations. Two of my vehicles are registered in NC, I was told by the agent that 'that didn't matter'. In the end I was fined over $150 and threatened to have my tags revoked by the NC DMV due to my agents negligence. Agent INSISTS they did nothing wrong and the vehicles WERE legally insured. I had someone from state farm contact the NC DMV on a conference call with me and the NC DMV was VERY clear that this agent was not licensed to ensure the NC registered vehicles. Agent will not return my calls, and refuses to return my premiums? I was told not to contact my agents office anymore because I was no longer a customer (after returning to Geico after realizing my state farm agent had been collecting premiums on vehicles THEY WERE NOT LEGALLY able to ensure.) I have filed a complaint with State Farm, the BBB as well as with the State Commissioner of Insurance. I would not recommend my agent or State Farm to ANYONE. I filed my complaint with State Farm 3 days ago, and really stressed in that complaint that I was looking at a deadline to get the situation resolved. I have STILL not heard a word from anyone at State Farm and we are going on day 4 since my complaint! Just so the public is aware, my agent was NIck Smith out of urbana, IL. I am appalled that State Farm allows their representatives to do business in such a poor fashion. I demand that my premiums be returned, and I also think that State Farm should be responsible for the fines I have had to pay! read more

NEWS FLASH!!!!! Auto Rescue in Lewisville, Texas is very big with a company called Road-America and this company has one of the biggest contracts with State Farm, GEICO & Allstate. All of Auto Rescue's driver's are sub-contractors there very huge in Michigan. Its very sad that if you want to be a service provider for State farm, GEICO or Allstate and if you own a towing company you have to go thorugh alot of paper work. Towing company's have to 1. Company Liability Insurance. 2. Insurance on every vehicle. 3. State Iicensed. 4. Worker's Comp Insurance. And each driver a towing company has must have a Chauffeur license with a medical certificate with a good driving record with no felonys and must pass a drug test just to name a few. What Auto Rescue does in every state is hire Sub-Contractor's just gives them a phone and there is a reason why Road-America has them for starters there service fee on every call is $20.00 and miles to call is free. Towing companys fee's are $32.00 plus only 10 miles free. But ill tell you this if one of there Sub's end up damageing your car guess what your not getting it fixed. Auto Rescue Sub's dont even have car insurance on there cars half of the time. Its all about the bottom line.....With State Farm, Geico & Allstate! Your better off with AAA they do not hire sub contractor's..... read more

Today, June 18, 2019 at 7:15 pm, called into State Farm 1-844 phone number because the online portal was showing no premium was due for both vehicles. The rep gave the amounts due by the 22nd. My dad and I asked what the normal premiums are. He said he wasn't going to research it. He would send a request over to the agent to provide the info. My dad asked why he couldn't research. He just keep saying he could send a message to the agent. My dad asked to speak to a supervisor. He said he wasn't going to transfer and would not. I got on the phone and told him to please get a supervisor because were not getting anywhere. He still refused and said he was the only one we were going to talk to and if we didn't let him speak he was going to hang up. I told him once again we need a supervisor since he couldn't help, so he claim, find the normal premium balance. He hung up. I called back and got another specialist, same department by the way and she gave the normal monthly premium balance. She said she didn't understand what his problem was. I told her I understood. The man was a straight up jerk. She claim she was the highest official in office and she would handle everything. I don't trust anything State Farm has to say. If I find another insurance company, with the same rates, I will drop State Farm like a bad habit. read more

Prior to being rear-ended, my rear bumper was spotless. Rewind to end of May 2012, on a rainy morning I was rear-ended by a woman insured by State Farm. Because I only have liability coverage, my insurance agent stated I would have to file a claim directly with State Farm. I called customer service and every rep I have spoken to were very nice however they don't truly deliver their services as they claim to (ie: state someone will call when days could go by without a phone call). I made an appointment for an appraisal and was informed by the employee there the photos will be uploaded and sent in for review. Later on someone will contact me with further information. Completely different from what I was informed by the rep that scheduled my appointment. It is now July and I am told by the adjuster that because the damages on my car is inconsistent and the estimator believes there were prior damages on my car, they will not be paying for the damages incurred in May. Again, my rear bumper was spotless. And many people can attest to that. I really hate to make a big deal out of nothing but when you're pointing a finger at me and essentially calling me a liar, WE HAVE A PROBLEM. read more

DO NOT buy from StateFarm!!! Very horrible insurance company. They will collect your money and not pay a penny one claims. I had been StateFarm customer since 2008. I had a sudden water slab leak and there was water all over the kitchen and living room area. Their 24 hour service did not send a plumber right away, instead they said to shut off the main water supply and call any plumber in the morning. I called Roto Rooter and the plumber confirmed that it was a sudden slab leak. They brought machines to dehumidify for 3 weeks and re-routed the pipe. StateFarm never sent an adjuster to my house. They just collected photos from me and plumber and denied the claim saying that this was a slow leak. How can it be a slow leak when there was water all over the floor in within 1 hour? All these years, StateFarm charged me over $23k in premium and this is how I got treated. I cannot imagine how can someone sitting thousands of miles away, never physically visited damaged location, never physically inspected my kitchen leak, completely ignored plumber's report and then denied the claim. My damage/repair was $17,850 which I had to pay out of pocket. What a joke this company is. read more

Horrible Experience with State Farm! #StateFarmFail #PrivacyViolation I can't believe how unprofessional State Farm Fire and Casualty Company has been! They violated Ohio insurance laws by willfully disclosing our personal and private insurance information to an unauthorized third party! This is a HUGE breach of trust! We NEVER gave State Farm any authorization--neither written nor verbal--to share our personal claim info with anyone, especially someone INvolved in the second burglary at our business that led to our total loss. This is absolutely unacceptable! It's shocking that a company like State Farm could just ignore proper standards and procedures like this. We're taking this very seriously and have reported this egregious breach to the Ohio Department of Insurance. An investigation into State Farm's dubious business practices is officially underway! Don't trust your private information with them! #BreachOfTrust #InsuranceNightmare #ProtectYourPrivacy @followers @highlight Min M L Kimble Word on the Street Media Group The HCV Store -Swanton HCV Stores TheMinister ML Kimble Word Ttv Street Word on the Street Talk TV Word on the Street Talk TV read more

Bill is a great guy. No problem with him, and State Farm has covered me on several instances, so they are not totally awful. THE PROBLEM here with insurance companies are the "EXCLUSIONS" they have in the policy. So if your pipes leak and you have to re pipe the house you PAY THE $17,000 for repipe, State Farm gives you $2,500 to restore..OH Well, it saddens me, that they spend BILLIONS on adverstising, and "Like a good Neighbor, State Farm is there." Sorry, ugh, NO THEY ARE NOT THERE, they ARE EXCLUDING your problem, YOU ARE NOT COVERED, and OH THEY WANT TO SELL YOU MORE INSURANCE BTW...IT Sucks, as they dragged me through mud when the pipes burst, and led me to believe it was covered, then they did a FLIP FLOP, "Oh, we don't cover the plumbing repairs, it's excluded." WTF DO I have your insurance for, to get insurance, or FOR YOU TO BE THERE FOR ME. IN THe end INsurance is Bull, a big rip off, and the clients get it in the end. BILL Needs to stop trying to sell us more EXCLUDED COVERAGE AND CHILL OUT. Thanks for listening. TICKED OFF AT MY "EXCLUSIONS." OH, they don't tell you about that, it's in the small print and I can't see that good. LOGAN read more

I filed a lawsuit against State Farm in January 2017. I served them notice a month prior to pay the outstanding medical bills from a single visit I had at a hospital emergency room. This was the result of their insured person running into the back of my car while I was stopped at a light. A police person was present at the time and they were found 100% at fault. After repeated attempts to get State Farm to pay the bills, the hospital sent me to collections ruining 40 years of perfect credit. I have a court date set in April 2017 to require State Farm to pay the bills, while I be given more time to verify that I need no further medical treatment. As a result State Farm has lawyered up to try to intimidate me, lied throughout the year I have been trying to work with them, and has claimed arrogantly to be above insurance and consumer protection laws. When I submitted a complaint to the Oregon and North Carolina Departments of Insurance they refused to follow up, clearly showing their bias towards the insurance industry. I would recommend that you do not conduct any business with State Farm or any of its agents and franchises. read more

I am literally and unashamedly disgusted with State Farm. You NEVER pay your claims whether the person is insured by you or not. I am not, thank God, and never will be. Your claimant hit me but because I happen to know one of the witnesses they are not valid because you think they are biased? What...just because your insured lies you think everyone lies? Great to know how much faith you have in people! GARRETT FROM YOUR TEMPE, AZ OFFICE SHOULD BE FIRED! He is the MOST RUDE AND HORRIBLE person I've ever spoken with in my life! And I'm over 50 so....that's a lot of interactions and he is the WORST and most RUDE and DESPICABLE person I've ever come into contact. I get it though, maybe you hire horrible people so you can just avoid paying any money? DO YOU READ YOUR REVIEWS??? Are you NOT SEEING THAT YOUR CUSTOMERS DESPISE YOU? Just call it quits and close your doors already! And if you're wondering, YES, I would tell you this in person and to your face. I would not hide behind a review. I DID tell you this via email, but so far three days and not one response. Great customer service there, State Farm! (LOL) read more

I would not recommend State Farm to anyone. After a recent encounter with a pothole, the resulting damage require that my tire be replaced. In order to file a claim with the State of West Virginia, a letter stating that tire damage is excluded from your policy was required. However, with State Farm, you are required to file a claim with the insurer, which will be denied, yet held against your claims history record for an item which is not covered. After requesting a copy of the policy (which was furnished) no reference to the exclusion of coverage was indicated. A call to the State Farm 24-hour service continued the incompetence of the organization. The representative was unable to indicate on the 80 page policy declaration where the coverage was excluded. The company is very happy to accept my premium checks every quarter but is also willing to inconvenience me when I need their serviced. My neighbor who has coverage from another company had no problem receiving a letter for her tire replacement, yet State Farm is never there when a longstanding customer requires assistance. read more

State Farm proves to be the epitome of disappointment and betrayal. Despite promptly settling my insurance premium upon notification of a lapse, I found myself in a dire situation mere hours later--engulfed in an accident. Yet, what does State Farm, with its so-called reputation as a "good neighbor," do? They abandon me without a second thought. Their adjuster, Julie Wisdom, embodies callousness, lacking not only empathy but also basic human decency. In contrast, had I remained with Allstate, a company I entrusted for three decades, I would have undoubtedly found solace in their reliable hands. But alas, my move to North Carolina led me to the regrettable decision of switching to State Farm--a choice I now rue. Let this scathing review serve as a beacon of warning to potential customers: beware of entrusting your hard-earned money to a company that forsakes you when you need them the most. State Farm's actions speak volumes about their integrity, or rather, the lack thereof. Save yourselves from the anguish and frustration I endured. read more
