We had our roof done by State Roofing Company in June and are very happy with the product, service and follow up. We took several bids on our roof. None of the salespeople impressed my wife and I more than Emily Giffin, daughter of owner John Giffin and future owner of her family's business. Emily is all of 24 but grew up in her family's roofing business and possesses a broad and very solid knowledge of her product and the roofing industry itself. She is all business and grips your hand with a firm handshake when she meets you. She climbs roofs and does her own measuring and estimates. She is no nonsense, all business, ready to answer any and all questions in addition to offering expert advice on color matching and what to expect. We have a 2500 sf home and a detached 1000 sf triple garage and connecting breezeway. The work was done exactly as Emily said it would be and took 2 days. She was on our job site both days for well over 2 hours each day checking the work and making sure we were good with everything. She visited us a week after the job was completed and climbed the roof again to make sure the crew had not missed anything. Worst experience of my friend's life with State Roofing Company. Had a hail storm come thru in Conroe, TX so my neighbor was referred to this company by her insurance company. Insurance company said they would pay $15,000. They tore her house up, left tar on her siding, painted over the tar instead of replace!, 15 foot flashing was left open, didn't replace and this caused my friend's home to be in danger of flooding, according to the engineers from insurance company. She had to have the siding replaced with her own money with another company, 15 ft flashing replaced, all the brickwork replaced and they charged her for doing the storeroom, and they didn't do any of what they promised on the contract. When she disputed the claim due to poor workmanship not as contracted, they raised the price to over $4000 more. She is still in litigation over this and they have called to harass my neighbor and her family on several occasions. She got an attorney and will never recommend or work with this ripoff company again. I would not recommend State Roofing Company to any of my neighbors. Hope no one else gets ripped off from this company like my neighbor did. read more

Prompt, professional, and courteous inspection and submission of bid for complete replacement of hail damaged roof. Shingle selection easy. Contact with insurance company handled efficiently. Final paperwork promptly submitted and final insurance check received in days. Contract included special concerns and items to be completed. The scheduling accommodated a number of scheduling conflicts that we could not work around. Appreciated that flexibility. On the day of the work, materials and crew arrived as scheduled. Crew chief went over how work would be done and confirmed the special requests we had made-squirrel protection, chimney flashing, protecting gutter guards, and so on. He answered questions through the day. The crew worked diligently and seriously. The work was completed in one day as scheduled. Clean up of materials was excellent. Multiple magnet passes for nails were made. A State rep came the day after completion to check on our satisfaction with the job and to make another pass for nails. From the initial visit, the assistance in working with my insurance company when the claim was denied, through to the actual replacement. When the initial claim was denied, Emily gave me some options of how to work with the insurance company. She was with us every step of getting the claim approved and helped me understand the process. State Roofing Company got us the new roof we knew we needed but were initially denied by our insurance. The roof of our home was damaged by hail in May 2019, and as we watched all of our neighbors have their roofs replaced, our claim was denied by our insurance, and our then contractor shrugged, simply called it a loss, and moved on. Nearly 11 months later, Emily found us (in a neighborhood of recently replaced roofs, ours stood out in the worst way), and she explained to us our options, that even initially denied, we could call for an additional inspection, even an arbitration if necessary. Emily and State Roofing Company handled all of the paperwork and it would ultimately require arbitration for our insurance to agree to replace our roof. Our roof replacement was scheduled immediately thereafter, and the exceptional work was completed in only a single day. We own our home in College Station, TX about 1 1/2 hours northeast of Houston. We suffered wind and rain damage from Hurricane Harvey. I watched State Roofing on several of their jobs in our subdivision and was impressed with their work and work ethic (efficient, no nail guns, clean job site). So after the insurance completed their evaluation and quote I called State Roofing for a quote. The State Roofing rep for our area is Joshua Sebesta. He was knowledgeable, most helpful and worked with the insurance company throughout the process. At one point we had 14 men on our roof working in crews and finished the job in one day including complete clean-up. Josh worked with us on ways to reduce our out-of-pocket expenses without settling for lesser quality shingles or poorer quality of workmanship. Very professional organization. Each time I was told that they would meet me, John was here on time, if not early. They did most of the heavy lifting with both the insurance company and the mortgage company (who needed to co-endorse the insurance check and required some additional paperwork). When it came time for the insurance adjuster to take a look, John had arrived at the house early and pre-marked the hail damage on the roof, giving little room for debate and ultimately making life a little easier for the adjuster. The existing roof was removed and the new roof and additional ventilation were installed in less than two days, and there was very little wait time for that to happen once the initial insurance check arrived. The work they did looks great (all around the neighborhood, not just my own home). While I hope to not need their services again for a long time, I would not hesitate to use State again should the need arise. read more

State Roofing replaced our old two-layer home/garage shingles with new GAF shingles. They came out, inspected our home and discussed all the work that needed to be done, and were very patient fielding our numerous questions. We agreed to use them and were surprised that they did not require an up-front deposit but only payment when the work was completed to our satisfaction. We were insistent that all our bushes and plants near our home/garage should be undamaged. After waiting for good weather the work started; their crew worked for three days, the job was done professionally and included free blown-in attic insulation, and afterward they did a fine cleanup job which included a follow-up to remove some fingerprints on a small part of siding and adding some extra flashing. From the initial visit with Chase Walker, who handled everything with the utmost professionalism, to all the workers at our house on the day the roof was put on , the job was as perfect as it gets. Chase inspected the roof, took pictures, and put together a very thorough report. He then met with our insurance adjuster and made sure he saw everything that needed to go into the estimate for repair. The adjuster agreed with him on the spot that day, and we were able to meet with Chase at our convenience in the evening to talk about all of our options, which he did a very good job of explaining. State roofing did a great job on my new roof. I bought a house in Houston and the home inspector said the roof was past due for replacement. State roofing was kind enough to give me an estimate that I could use for negotiating purposes. Once I owned the house Chase Walker came and gave me a detailed estimate and appraisal of the condition (home inspector was correct). The work was scheduled as soon as the HOA approved and the roof work was done in one day by a very professional crew. The result is fantastic and included new ridge vents, drip edging, and lead penetration boots.Yard was cleaned of all debris and I have not found even a single roof nail since. This is the second time we've hired State Roofing to replace a roof for us (2 different houses). Both times we've been completely satisfied with their service, responsiveness, workmanship, and price. I knew we needed a new roof, and Natalie inspected the roof during work hours, gave me a cash price, but then also met with our insurance adjuster. I thought originally I wouldn't get any insurance money but she suggested we give it a try. I was surprised that our insurance paid for half of the new roof, even though it was very, very old. John came out and inspected our roof, and found plenty of damage to file a claim with our insurance company, which we did. After our insurance company initially denied the claim, State Roofing advised us, and led us through the process of disputing the claim with the insurance co. John is very good, confident, is a straight shooter, and never made any false promises about the outcome. Eventually, an independent appraiser ruled in our favor and we got our roof replaced. I had a slight leak in my roof and needed it checked out. A friend whose house was totally flooded out by Harvey highly recommended that I call State Roofing based on his experience with them. State Roofing inspected my roof and showed that the leak was from a minor problem. But while on the roof, they saw that my roof had pretty extensive hail damage from a hail storm earlier in the year. State Roofing handled everything from that point including insurance claim requirements and the Bunker Hill work permit. State roofing company replaced my roof this past June after it received hail damage from the storm in the spring. I had called several local roofing companies in the College Station area before deciding to go with Josh at Sate Roofing. Come to find out, a few of our neighbors were using them as well. Josh is courteous, professional and takes a lot of pride in his work. I am a picky guy, this is a 3.5 years old house, After my house got hit by hail this April, I am worry about that after roofer did replacement it is worse than what the builder did.
