I enjoyed a great date night out to Boodalu last weekend, but service was lacking and made for a less than stellar experience. I got the filet prepared blue bell style which had a blue cheese sauce, portobello mushroom, and shallot marmalade. It was cooked to perfection and super flavorful. I upgraded to garlic mashed potatoes, which were excellent. Unfortunately, our server was inattentive after placing our order. Our drinks had been empty for awhile and when we got our entrees and our server said she'd be back with refills. A food runner came by with drinks after about 10 minutes but they were for a different table, so he left. No one ever came back with refills. Eventually after we were done with our entrees for quite some time, our server finally came back to give us the check. For a nicer establishment in Quincy, I would hope to get good service. read more

This is a favorite for date night, but also our kiddos favorite restaurant. The service is always top notch and attentive. Reservations are not required but I would recommend as it is a smaller dining space; there is also limited outdoor seating along the front balcony. The restaurant is a beautiful space, a large bar area, and overlooking the Mississippi River. My favorite is the Filet, it is always perfectly cooked, my husband loves the Ribeye. The Tomato and Basil Crusted Chicken Breast is also delicious. Clientele is mixed, you will find suits / dresses but also jeans and polos. read more

My fiancé and I had a wonderful dinner at Boodalu steakhouse the other night. The restaurant itself is so close to the waterfront and you have a beautiful view of the river looking through the windows from most of the tables. The restaurant itself is charming and inviting, with carpeted floors and comfortable office-like rolling chair seats. We went in around 5:30 and there were not many people there, but sure enough within 20 minutes of people were trickling in. By the time we finish dinner and left around 6:30 or 7, the place was almost full. The food was all so delicious... from the crabcakes, Caesar salad, to the sauce on the pecan crusted salmon - I wish I could take that home with me!! We arrived on a busy evening without a reservation and they bent over backwards to accommodate us and make us feel comfortable. Staff was friendly and helpful. Food was delicious. A couple in our party had to leave early as their wee baby decided bedtime was the priority (after our meals were ordered). The staff boxed it all up quickly without complaint. Have mostly enjoyed Boodalu's until our last trip. Arrived with a reservation to which it appeared they couldn't fine but seated us with no problem. 13 minutes later after having seen only the water boy. And being ignored by numerous wait staff we got up and left! Big disappointment! read more

The ambiance and the service was great, attentive and not overbearing, 4 star... The food..... probably more like 3 stars. The filet was cooked correctly, and lightly seasoned.... But lacked something, somewhat dry on the outside.... It was the best part of the dish. I ordered the lobster tail; overcooked, parts of it a bit dry, freshly "frozen" would probably describe it. No sprinkle of Old Bay seasoning or anything and the butter for dipping lacked flair. The garlic mashed potatoes weren't bad. Overall, the price vs the bland meal just left me with an average review. Tried Boodalu for the first time last night. Everything was "perfect." The wine, bread with oil and cheese (you have to ask for it,) food and service. Their homemade raspberry vinaigrette salad dressing is to die for. I had the Cajun Pasta and my friend the Shrimp & Grits. We both loved our choices and shared with each other. My boyfriend and I had a wonderful experience here the other night. He has been here numerous times living close by. So he was very excited to take me here for a lovely dinner. We had called to make a reservation, they weren't all that busy (guessing because of COVID and it was a little early). There is street parking. It is located on a side block by the Mississippi River. We sat down and the hostess was very polite and our waitress Shawn was so nice. She was on top of everything. I ordered the Prosecco which was only $7.50. Not terrible. I ordered the ahi tuna with the soup of the day which was crab and mushroom. Let me tell you, the soup was so amazing! I could have had that again. The tuna was really refreshing as well. I had changed my side for the asparagus. They were kind of dry and don't feel as if paying $3.00 more for it was worth it. My boyfriend ordered the filet of beef, like he usually does. And he always enjoys it with garlic potatoes. I tried both of his and loved it. The steak was so moist and delicious. 10/10. read more

Typical salad but the ribeye tonight was very good. Not covered in seasoning do the true steak flavor comes through. The waitress was awesome, so i'm not bashing on her but i got the salmon with a jack daniel's blackberry glaze, well it looked like they just put jam on the salmon. it tasted horrible, salmon was super dry too. Asked the waitress to just take it off the bill. got the bill charged us for drinks we didn't even have, took the salmon and baked potato off but still charged me for the asparagus, also, my boyfriend got the blackened chicken alfredo and added shrimp, he never got the chicken. so i tried to dispute it and was extremely nice about it, the waitress argued with me about it. I just said okay it's fine, paid the bill and left. The waitress also overcharged my friend, and charged my friend for our martinis. Will not be returning! read more

ONLY 5 star restaurant in quincy once you step into the restaurant and experience the service, you are transported to a different city. the food quality and taste is incomparable to any other in quincy for "5 star". i've taken prom pictures, hosted parties, been on dates, and attended business meetings here and it fits all needs and requests. read more

Highly disappointed. We have not been here in over a year due to COVID, and we were excited to finally enjoy a good meal. Unfortunately that is not what we got. Service was good, but that is where the positive points end. The Tomato Vegetable Soup was blah, the Garlic Mashed Potatoes were clumpy & without flavor and the Ribeye Steak was extremely tough. The Ahi Tuna was simply ok. We have always had good meals here in the past; and we may try here again as some point... but tonight was extremely disappointing. read more

We are frequent customers to Boodalu's. The food is always delicious. However tonight on New Years Eve I had made reservation 4 days prior for 5 people at 7 pm. We arrived before 7 and were told by a reasonably new hostess that she couldn't find our reservation. If we would've been told right then that they couldn't get us in we could've left and maybe found a place to eat but we were told they were going to get us a table. After waiting over an hour with a packed lobby finally another waitress assured me she would get us a table. Needless to say we ended up leaving because my husband got a migraine, we were not getting any closer to getting a table, and our New Years Eve plans were completely screwed! This place used to be phenomenal, but for whatever reason they fired their head chef and replaced him with an account who has no restaurant experience, and no clue what she is doing. There are no more specials, but "featured menu items". They got rid of the pasta bar, and their most recent Mother's Day was as embarrassing as it was abysmal. It's too bad. I really used to love eating there, but I will not spend another dollar there until they rehire their head chef and fire that stupid accountant. I hope they do it before the doors close! Enjoyed the pink champagne margarita - so tasty! Loved the grilled chicken breast with mushroom risotto. Actually known for their steaks and there is s good selection. Street availability and a lot next door make it very convenient to park. Terrific views - live feed on screen at the bar.
