From a clinical standpoint, Dr. Atassi's technical skills are solid, and I did not have concerns about the quality of the dental work itself. However, my experience with Invisalign treatment and overall professional conduct has been deeply disappointing. When I was referred for Invisalign at this office, I was charged $6,000, which is significantly higher than the market average. While pricing can vary, this already raised concerns. More seriously, I was suddenly discharged from the practice without any prior notice. I only found out on the day of my scheduled appointment to renew my retainer, when my appointment was abruptly canceled and I was told not to come in. This was the first time I was informed that I had been discharged. I was told a discharge letter would be sent to me. Five business days have now passed, and I have received nothing -- no letter, no explanation, no documentation. This lack of communication and continuity of care falls far below acceptable professional and ethical standards. As a result, I am now forced to seek assistance directly from Invisalign to be re-referred to another provider just to continue basic post-treatment maintenance. This situation has caused significant emotional distress and disruption, entirely avoidable with proper notice and professionalism.

I have been a patient at East Loop Dental for a couple of years now. I switched to them as they…read morewere in network with my insurance and near my office. Though the staff have changed over from when I joined and they were so lovely, I am thrilled with the experience I had with Dr. Kostal and an implant on my front tooth recently. I am also impressed with the technology they use which is very high tech for X-rays/imaging. I haven't seen it any other dentists. I have had several crowns, fillings and root canals over the years. I was very worried about how much an implant would hurt. Because it sure sounds painful! But Dr. Kostal took the time to explain what would happen in a pre-consultation, as well showed me some photos of past work he had done and I agreed to get it done 10 days later. He has done around 300 implants and knows how to tweak things to get the best results. He has a great manner. I filled a prescription for meds to start taking 24 hrs before the procedure. He made sure I was fully comfortable and numbed up before he started. My front tooth was dead and had had 2 root canals, and 2 veneers on and imaging showed it was disintegrating behind the veneer and would eventually break and then you have an emergency on your hands. I also had a dark line along the gum line which shows up every time you smile. The procedure took about 2.5 hrs from start to finish as after pulling the tooth and inserting the implant in the gum, he made an excellent temporary tooth whilst the gum heals for afew months. It already looks so much better than before. I can't wait to get the final permanent front tooth crown next month. There was little pain after the procedure and I did not need to take even an ibuprofen by the following evening.

He specifically communicated that I would arrive around 3:17 PM, and the receptionist, whose name started with "R," confirmed that it would be okay. Based on that conversation, I drove 1 hour and 14 minutes to make it to the office while dealing with a major highway delay. At 3:21 PM, while pulling into the parking garage, I received a call from Zane informing me that my appointment was being canceled because of a 15-minute grace period. I explained that my husband had already called ahead and communicated the delay, and we were told it would be fine. Zane stated he still needed to cancel the appointment and mentioned speaking with his manager, Sandra, after I expressed my concerns. I asked him to wait, as I was actively parking and walking into the office. When I entered the office, I immediately had my husband on the phone to confirm the prior conversation. The receptionist acknowledged speaking with him but failed to take accountability for not informing us that the appointment would automatically be canceled after 15 minutes. Had that been clearly communicated, we would have made a different decision instead of driving all that way under the impression I would still be seen. The customer service from the front desk staff was disappointing, frustrating, and unprofessional. Unfortunately, this is not the first issue I have experienced with Zane. There have been multiple occasions involving incorrect scheduling and inaccurate billing information that later required Sandra to step in and correct. Placing these individuals as the face of the office creates a poor patient experience. To make matters worse, Sandra, the office manager, came into the open waiting area and attempted to discuss my appointment, billing, and personal matters in front of another patient. I had to request privacy, which should have been offered from the beginning. During our conversation, I was clearly frustrated, but I also felt talked over and dismissed. There was no compassion, empathy, grace, or willingness to work toward a reasonable resolution, whether that meant seeing me briefly or simply helping me reschedule. Additionally, the receptionist, El, acted as though she never assured my husband that we could still be seen after he explained we would pay our previous balance on Friday and specifically asked whether we should still come in for the appointment. Again, there was no accountability for the miscommunication. It is very clear that the office culture and business model have changed. What once felt patient-centered now feels transactional, as though patients should feel privileged simply to be there. Long-term loyalty no longer appears to matter. To my credit, I later called back to apologize for my response out of frustration because I believe in growth, accountability, and handling situations better. However, even during that conversation, there was no effort to extend understanding or mutual respect. Instead, I was told there would be "no grace" given regardless of the communication we provided or our heartfelt apologies. During the call, El stated, "What do you want out of this conversation?" and later said she was "tired of going around and around about this." When we explained that we simply wanted to feel valued as patients, El responded that they also wanted to feel valued by patients arriving on time. However, the fact that we drive over an hour to this office demonstrates that we value their services and respect their time. We also called ahead specifically to communicate the delay, which further showed consideration and respect for the office. El then compared the situation to her experience as a hairstylist. Respect, communication, professionalism, and empathy matter greatly in healthcare settings, and unfortunately, this office failed. This review is specifically for the Gold Coast location of ORA Dental Studio - Gold Coast located at 700 N State Street, Chicago, IL 60654. While ORA Dental has multiple locations that share the same name, my experience occurred at this specific office. I hope that the owners will review my call logs and the final phone call with El who showed a lake of respect when I apologized and had no humility and apologize on their poor communication. "Don't put employees in a position where they stop seeing their work as a calling to serve others and begin seeing it as only a paycheck. Prior to the appointment I received e-documents to complete (normal paperwork), multiple appointment reminder texts, and confirmed insurance coverage. Upon arrival, I was greeted very friendly by the receptionist and was escorted back ~5 minutes later. I emailed previous oral history, x-rays so only needed to take a few x-rays and then Dr. Tilden came in to complete the cleaning. He said everything looked good, I'm just use to more scraping and cleaning (maybe they are just more OCD) and I wasn't offered a fluoride rinse. None of that is a deterrent for me to be a return client. Best part was I received a new toothbrush, toothpaste, and floss as a parting gift! All that was missing was a piece of candy but I get it (lol)!

Lol when I told her I was upset about her filing my teeth down - looks very chopped off and there is Space between my teeth now that shows daylight between my teeth - she told me " Im concerned about you" ie gaslighting - I wish I never set foot in this office such a disappointment.
