I was referred here for my first root canal recently, and I was pretty nervous about it. I had a wonderful experience, and would recommend to others! PROS -- Dr. Kaushik was expert; best dental anesthesia I've ever experienced, and was very gentle, informative, professional, and skilled. He crushed it. -- The team was very nice. I happened to be going through some drama with my insurance carrier, and they went above and beyond in being understanding and compassionate to me. It really means a lot! -- The environment is very low-stress and conducive to the work. They have really great equipment, all in good repair. CONS -- Can be tricky to find! I learned the hard way that Water Tower Place has TWO different elevator bays, and the one you need to take is kind of tucked away from sight, so unless you're told about it, it's hard to find. read more

I had a dental emergency while on a trip. We were staying in Chicago and I had to find an Endodontist to perform emergency work that would allow me to remain pain free until we returned home to NYC. We checked the reviews and found Renovo Endodontics (also known as Water Tower Endodontics) that had received five stars. It was only a few blocks from our hotel which was perfect. I was able to set an appointment for the next day with Dr. Alan Commet. Dr. Commet was professional and personable. He explained my situation to me in clear terms. He let me know what he could do and what I needed to get done when I got back home. He worked on me quickly and painlessly. It was so quick that I didn't even know he had finished. Of course no one wants to have to come to see an endodontist, but if you do end up in that position I can't recommend this place enough. The staff have always been very accommodating and friendly and the location is always very clean. Dr. Mehta is the most kind and considerate dental professional i've had the pleasure of working with. I've had 2 root canals with her and have always left feeling comfortable post procedure, well informed of what occurred and how to proceed and just an overall feeling of being cared for as her patient. Let me start by saying that Aga and her team are wonderful. I got lost 3 times trying to find the office and the receptionist was so kind to help me out. I went here after being referred by my general dentist for a root canal and Aga did great work. I have never felt more comfortable in a dentists chair. The reason for the stars is they way the payment side of things were done. Once I was numbed and waiting for everything to being, I was told that Aga was not in network and that I would have to pay $2000 for the procedure which included the anesthesia that was already in my mouth. I didn't feel like I had a choice since I took off work, already had x-rays done and was already numb. I gave them my insurance information on the phone 5 days in advance as well as before the anesthesia was administered so I am very taken aback as to why this wasn't brought to my attention before. So now, I have to be on a payment plan for something I could have gotten taken care of at another endodontist for much cheaper. BUT, again, Aga and her team are amazing in every other way. And I would honestly be more upset if I wasn't so relieved to just have a competent dentist work on my mouth. UPDATE: I got a call from the owner of the practice, Dr. Wong, not 30 minutes after writing this review to tell me that I should have been informed on the phone and that they are going to charge me the in-network price. I am blown away. I have never had a company contact me to see how they can make things right and actually do it. The customer service of this office is beyond anything I ever thought was possible with a dental office. If I could give more stars I would. read more

I had such a good experience at this office. I was referred by my dentist for a root canal consultation. I went in the morning and I had significant pain in my tooth. I was fortunate to see Dr. Nisha Mehta and she told me I needed a root canal. She had me return later that day to do the procedure because she knew I was in a lot of pain. I was so grateful. Dr. Mehta was so kind, professional and competent. She explained everything to me about the procedure. I felt so well taken care of by her and her dental assistant, Nora, and Judy, her receptionist. I was referred to Dr. Aga for a dreaded root canal from my dentist (Dr. Amy Van Fossen- she is amazing!). Van Fossen knows dental work is not my favorite and highly recommended that I see Dr. Aga for the work. The office is in the back of Water Tower place. Dr. Aga is phenomenal- she is patient and gentle and clearly explained the plan of action for my treatment. The front desk is efficient (quickly processed my insurance) and friendly and the office has Saturday office hours (woohoo!). That root canal? practically painless. I've had a handful of root canals and this was by far the least painful. I felt normal without hours of the treatment. That is quality dental work right there. Five stars for a root canal? Just wanted to tell you this is the absolute best place for intelligent, caring, professional, painless root canal procedures. The best! My amazing endodontist is Dr. Martha Proctor. She has been helping me with my teeth for years and has to handle my nerves and my complex teeth problems because I grind. She is masterful. Painless, incredibly skilled , intelligent, and patient. Believe me, Dr. Proctor is the best. Besides the mastery of Dr. Proctor, the whole office is so friendly, warm and welcoming. This comes right when you walk in the door with Judy. She is the warmest person on earth and listens to your endodontic problem, eases your fears, p and gets you in for treatment. She has calmed my nerves so many times. She now has another assistant, Fran, who also fits into the super warm category. Also, Dr. Proctor's nurse, Nora, chats with me and calms me down and is incredibly wonderful. I went in for a root canal. In the past I used nitrous for such an occasion and I remember the experience still being a nightmare at other places. This time not only did I not use nitrous but the process was not nearly as invasive. And was done before I knew it! Don't EVER underestimate the value of a great dentist. Aga Chruszczyk, DDS is who you need to work with if you need root canal treatment. After one sleepless night, and the following day experiencing the most pain I have felt in my life, Aga sat me on her chair and said "Let me work some magic". Two of my teeth had damaged nerves. The pain was such that it required several doses of anesthesia to numb it. Aga showed no judgment and was extremely polite, informative and soothing. She performed not one, but two root canals in about thirty minutes. She made sure that I felt comfortable, from telling me not to open too wide (to prevent strain on my neck and jaw), to telling me to relax my jaw whenever her tools were not in my mouth. I cannot say this enough, but she was magnificent. I felt NO pain during the procedure. She kept asking me if I felt anything because she would have stopped to put more anesthesia. Coming in I told her about the discomfort and pain I had felt during a previous root canal treatment. She looked me in the eye and said "Do not worry. I will not do my work until I make sure you are numb. You will feel no pain. I'm sorry you had such a bad experience, but I will not do anything until you don't feel anything on those teeth". And so it was. She was in no rush even though I had come in with no appointment after being sent from my dentist (with no advance notice). To make it even more incredible, she called me the next day to ask how I was doing and reassure me that if my temporary fillings got damaged I could go back to her and she would take care of it. She then told me what to do to ease any discomfort. She is pure gold. Thank you SO much Aga! You are wonderful and I feel lucky to have you do the procedure. read more

When my porcelain crown broke on tooth 7, second tooth to the right of my two front teeth and took what was left of my original tooth, I was absolutely devastated. My dentist, Dr. Sheldon Seidman, said that I had to have a root canal to build up my tooth in order to replace the crown. I had never had a root canal but had heard the horror stories and I prepared myself for the worst case scenario. Dr. Peter Lio was not only professional but he was empathetic and funny which put my fears to rest. I barely felt the actual procedure and the recovery was painless. If had not mistakenly taken too much Tylenol that caused severe stomach pain for 3 days, the entire procedure would have been forgotten. But that was my fault. I only take Bayer aspirin or Aleve for muscle aches and I thought Tylenol was ibuprofen, which it is not. Not a mistake I will make again. Everyone at Water Tower Endodontics was very professional and nice. If I ever have to have another root canal, which I hope not, I will go back to Dr. Peter Lio. He's the best!! read more
