I made an appointment for a root canal on a broken tooth as my dentist advised, in order to prepare it for a crown. Dr. Tadros said he could do the root canal on that tooth, but advised against it because he didn't think (not his area of expertise) that tooth would support a crown for very long. For this he charged me $400 and called it a consultation. He had no right to charge me $400 for his five minute opinion. I talked to my dentist later the same day and he disagrees with Dr. Tadros' advice. But I'm still out $400. Losing that kind of money is devastating to me. I wouldn't feel any worse if I had been robbed on the street. read more

Dr. Fayad is AMAZING and the lack of a star is purely due to the admin side of things. Dr. Fayad took his time to explain my procedure, called afterward to see how I was feeling, and even provided his personal cell in case I was experiencing further pain. There were multiple times that I needed to follow up with the front desk staff to call in prescriptions they said they would and follow up with paperwork that my insurance company reached out to them about. I recently had a root canal with Dr. Aga. It was my first root canal, so I was not sure what to expect and was very anxious. She was excellent and the pain was minimal. Dr Fayed did an amazing job with my root canal. His chair-side manner was wonderful, calming and very professional. I can say the same for his staff. The state-of-the-art procedure took about an hour and after injecting the novacaine, the process was pain free. Once completed, there was very little discomfort. I eventually took two Advil but by the late evening, I was back to normal. If you are in need of a root canal, I highly recommend Dr. Fayed. read more

It was a bit of an emergency in that the Root of my lower front tooth #26, was causing me immense pain, and after seeing Dr. A H Chan's Son, Dr. Christopher Chan, DDS, he insisted I go down to Ste 1833 to schedule an ASAP Appointment since Dr. Aga, whom I knew, was not back until a later date. Doing so, when the time came, I was very nervous meeting a revered Expert Root Canal Specialist & for a first time due never having met him and utterly terrified! Upon meeting Dr. Fayad, I relaxed due to his warm kindness & willingness to calm me down and put forward the actual Root Canal procedure. I loved the Reception Rm w/a cozy feeling & genuinely felt a caring and warmth from Dr. Fayad & left knowing, inwardly, that although he was candid with me re my dental case 'being challenging', he assured me he could do the removal of the nerve yet did say it might take 2 appointments to finish thoroughly ... I was most concerned never having had but 1 Root Canal with Dr. Aga & whom I was always praising to friends if they had to have Root Canal's. I was referred here by my dentist, without them mentioning that they were OUT OF NETWORK. When I checked in, asked if they took Blue Cross/Blue Shield and was told "yes" however that doesn't mean they are IN NETWORK, sneaky move that is. So I spent $3,000 when it should have been approx $500 hundred dollars!! Front desk was rude - shouted at me when I showed up 15 minutes early for my appt - due to covid they don't want people early. Probably should mention that to the patients when making the appointment rather than the rude attitude given. Being screamed at by a woman wearing yoga pants and an Adidas tee shirt isn't what I expect to see at a medical office, and def not when they are charging me $3k. Called to investigate, told I would be called back, never was, called them and was told without a care about it, that they wouldn't consider any type of help. They also charged me $200 more than they would charge an insurance company had I been in network. SO UNETHICAL!!!!! The procedure by Dr. Um was very good and she is class, but the billing practice and service was awful and I am out a lot of money. AVOID ! read more

Dr. Aga is amazing. I had never had any dental issues and then suddenly I needed 2 root canals. She explained everything very carefully to me and was very sympathetic to my pain and concerns. The follow up from the office was great and all staff and assistants could not have been more helpful. I had an emergency need for a root canal yesterday and called around to a number of endodontists in the area. Endodontics Limited was able to fit me in same day, and it was such a pleasant experience. Dr. Fayad was kind, welcoming, and explained every aspect of the root canal process as he was doing it. He also was very sensitive to any pain/sensitivities around the tooth as we proceeded. One day out, I feel 90% better (just a little tenderness around the tooth, which was expected) and slept through the night for the first time in a long time! read more

It's not a good sign when you go in for a cleaning and your dentist say you need an immediate root canal. I was sent right over. I've never had one before and only heard of the horror stories. If you should ever have to get a root canal, pray that you'll fall into the skilled hands of Dr. Gilbert. Never felt pain during or after. No need for pain killers. Procedure time was under 30 min. In and out baby! And his assistant was so sweet to try to assure me. Was it the white knuckles? Yes, yes, the office is beautiful but you know.... when you're facing sharp objects that can potentially introduce you to a new world of pain. Tranquil asian inspired interior design just isn't on the top of my mind. Nor the very current magazine collection. Or the outlet I scoped out to charge the phone but couldn't as there was almost no wait. Damn. read more

Had an appointment w/ Dr Paul Ashkenaz a couple weeks ago after my dentist recommended me for a root canal consultation. *shudder* First of all...this is the MOST beautiful doctor/dental office I have ever seen...and I've seen quite a few, unfortunately. There's nothing like sitting in a room staring at dirty walls in unfriendly lighting wondering if Oprah needs to send her swab team for a visit. (New location btw: 25 East Washington). Lots of natural light, dark hard wood floors, open space, clay Asian style vessel sinks, and beautiful photos of China adorn the walls. The receptionists were nice, and the doctor's assistant was charming. Dr. Ashkenaz had a welcoming smile, couldn't have been warmer, and took the time to listen to my symptoms. He didn't push me into a root canal (thank god), as I hear so many endodontists do. I'll definitely be back, but seriously, let's hope no time soon. read more

I saw Dr. Fayad recently for a root canal. He saw me the same morning my regular dentist gave me the bad news. Dr. Fayad is as good as it gets - efficient, communicative, conscientious, and friendly. His assistant is whip-smart and the office staff is good. They seem to have all the latest tools and a bright, airy office. Obviously, getting a root canal is no fun. Dr Fayad on a previous endodontal problem and lately Dr Latifi were remarkable. The office both in Skokie and Downtown were VERY helpful in accommodating my urgent problems and f/u care. THE DOCTORS, FAYAD AND LATIFI ARE CONSUMMATE PRACTIRTIONERS. Yes, this is costly but includes everything, in my case two years of f/u and CT scans with each visit. On my latest dental adventure the final root showed evidence of the procedure likely failing with a crack not visible on the initial consultation and CT. I got a large refund in spite of considerable time taken on two visits. These are nice, professional and reasonable people who run a friendly office with competent help. You cannot ask for better health professionals and better honest care. read more

As a "repeat customer", I cannot recommend Endodontics Limited and specifically, Dr. Fayad, highly enough! At my one-year check up for my second root canal yesterday, the scan showed that last year's procedure had healed nicely, but the tooth behind it was infected and needed a root canal. This particular tooth is complicated due to a split root and another root that curves, but Dr. Fayad assured me that he had practiced hard since last year, and he could handle it. I'm writing about this in order to illustrate that not only is Dr. Fayad a phenomenal endodontist, he's also kind, gentle, reassuring, and put me at ease with his sense of humor! I had the choice to schedule a visit or wait to see if something opened up in the schedule, so I opted to wait. The entire staff is calm and friendly, and the waiting room is very clean, with understated decor. As it turned out, he was able to fit me in and the procedure was as smooth and pain-free as the previous two. No one wants to have a root canal, but if it's necessary, this is the only place to go. I won't consider going anywhere else. Thank you! read more

Going in for gum surgery or root canal is never a fun experience, yet Dr. Fayed and his team were wonderful, calming and efficient and made me feel totally comfortable during my procedure, explaining everything along the way.. The office is quiet and peaceful, the dental chair is very comfortable. For what it was, I felt very confident about my treatment. They are caring and concerned, checking up on you after your procedure. I am being seen every six months to be sure the bone graft is growing in. I have healed perfectly, thanks to Dr. Fayed, who is a perfectionist with his work. The work I had done was perfect. read more

He explains the problem and won't make any rush judgments. His procedures are performed pain free in an aesthetically pleasing office. Did not have a good experience here. I was referred by my dentist to them for a tooth that was cold sensitive that would last for hours. I went for consultation which lasted 30 minutes of which they took several X-rays and the tapped on tooth and used cold spray. When I went I filled out paperwork with my two insurances. My main is Delta which most dentists don't like and then had Aetna as my secondary. Was told by staff after consultation that I owed 385 up front, I asked why I was being treated like I had no insurance and was told it was policy. I had to set up for main root canal which they told me I would have to pay the 1350 up front. I am used to this with Delta but usually my dentist requires half as deposit. So in a week I had to pay over $1700 up front like I had no insurance. Dr. Latifi was nice but at that price she should be. I had the root canal done with temp filling put in. After 10 days I went to my regular dentist to have permanent filling put on. I told him that I was still having some pain in the tooth but not cold or chew sensitive. He had me go back to Endodontics where the took more X-rays and then told me it was either in my head or sinus infection because they did everything correctly. After waiting 3 weeks I called both of my insurance companies and Aetna said they never received a claim. When I called they office I was told it was not submitted as they had already been paid by me. I insisted that they resubmit so I could be reimbursed. Don't waste your time here unless your are floating in expendable cash and have no insurance. There are lots of Endodontists in the city. read more

Great place. Wonderful, very courteous staff. They're openly friendly and do their best to make you feel comfortable. I had Dr. Fayad, and he's amazing. He really does put you first. I'm what you would consider a difficult patient (last minute changes/requests and such). Long story short, he was an amazing consultant, and he gladly supported my needs without so much as a passing frown. He gives you all the information, whether it's weighing two options against each other, or post-procedure maintenance and even references to other specialists you may need to see. And of course, you've seen the other reviews for the interior design. All true (not that big a deal to me though). My only request... please give me some stronger painkillers! read more

I work for a general and cosmetic dental office that refers to Dr Fayad. Just before Thanksgiving my impacted wisdom tooth started bothering me. Our periodontist would need a cone-beam scan (3D X-ray) of the tooth. I called a day or two before thanksgiving; thinking it would be a week before I could get in, and surprisingly they were able to see me on Black Friday! Even though Dr Fayad was not in that day he arranged for me to see an assistant for the X-ray; so very nice of him! It was a very convenient commute, I took the orangeline train straight there. The buildings lobby was beautifully decorated. When I got up to the office I was able to hang my coat right in the comfortable waiting room. The staff was nice and greeted me right away. After filling out the smallest paperwork ever, I was quickly brought back for the cone-beam scan. The assistant was friendly and gentle. We briefly looked at the scan together, which I appreciated bc I was curious to see the position of the tooth in relation to the tooth in front of it. Before I left they copied the scan to a CD so I could take it to our periodontist. It was a very convenient and pleasant experience. I highly recommend this practice! She was kind and explained everything to me in advance, making sure periodically that I was comfortable and feeling no pain. Very professional and very good. Do NOT go to Dr. GIlbert with Endodontics Limited. I learned from my dentist, not him, that he permanently sealed a broken file into my root canal. This is a risk of the procedure, but his handling of it was so completely unprofessional that I felt compelled to warn others to avoid his practice. Rather than apologize or politely explain the implications to me, he immediately became defensive, rude, and abrassive about this unfortunate result. read more

There are not enough superlatives to describe my experience with this practice and with Dr. Mohamed Fayad. The staff is extremely professional and warm and pleasant. The office is attractive and immaculate. I had a persistent infection high up in my gum that required oral surgery. In my opinion, and I can't imagine anyone else not agreeing, Dr. Fayad is brilliant, an excellent technician, and an extremely kind person. Based upon my experience, this practice and this endodontist are as good as it gets. I have to believe the other partners are excellent as well. read more
