I had my tires replaced on a work van to the amount of over 1,000 dollars . The alignment was not done correctly I had to have it fixed elsewhere due to my schedule and them requiring I leave it for a day again . They did offer to look at it . Fast forward one month . I go in today with an issue of the tire leaking losing air needing a patch from a nail. I go in to the counter and tell them the problem again they need to keep it for few hours or the day the guy at the counter had a major attitude! Not good business and I will never be back there. I was on vacation in LBI when I noted a tire was low on my Subaru Outback. Hoping not to ruin a great day, I called them and they said they would take me right away! I had my oil changed at the Manahawkin shop about a week ago. Staff was polite and seemed knowledgeable. One week later, on a road trip, I had to pull over because my car was smoking. When I checked the fluids I noticed that the oil was 2 quarts low. I added the oil and completed my trip, anxious about any engine damage that may have occurred. After a very disappointing phone conversation with Chris, during which I was assured that there was no way State Auto had mistakenly under filled my oil. Brought car in for a possible caliper issue I discovered when I was changing the Brake Pads and the Rotors myself. I can not do calipers so I relied on a business that can do a brake service. I noticed this after I replaced the rear rotor and pads on passenger side. When I brought the car to them I had the other rotor and pads (previously purchased at Conway Auto Parts in Manahawkin). They did not want to use my new parts to do the driver-side rear. In fact they removed my "just installed" passenger side brake pads and rotor. After asking why, since Ii did not ask them to touch them on the drivers side rear I get the "for insurance purposes"..Nonsense! it was to make money! If I ask to replace a radiator and I had a new water pump would that need to be replaced? NO. I live 5.2 miles door to door. The man at the counter tried to tell me they were worn with groves in them and the pads were chipped and worn. Brakes are supposed to last 40K-60K miles - not 5.2 miles !! I would NEVER use or recommend them to anyone. read more

Took my brand new Range Rover here to get the tire fixed (there was a screw in the back tire) and they helped me immediately! I was there for maybe a half hour, was a great price ($20), and the service was amazing. My girlfriend and I brought in our car to have an alignment done on 2/23/16. The process was great, affordable, very professional, and we were even shown what caused the alignment problem (hit the frame on a curb). Right before they lowered the car on the lift, the power went out because a car hit a pole down the street and knocked the lines down. We waited for about an hour to see if it would come back on, but it didn't. The shop went above and beyond to drive us home so we didn't have to wait for the power to be restored, and called us when it came back on. When we picked the car up we were greeted with a free oil change coupon for our troubles, and the car drove as good as new! On 9/04/13 I took my Toyota Tundra in for new tires, oil change, and alignment. Over $1000. When I got there to pick it up,the passenger rear door had 2 dents with red paint on them. Not real bad but there. The tech told me a tow truck had just put a red car next to my truck and he must have hit it. He said he would check the survailence tapes and let me know the next day. I paid in full and left. He called me and said the tapes showed nothing but would get someone and call me for an appointment. Well I have called him 3 times since then and here we are on 11/09/13 and my dents are still there. I will not recommend them to anyone or return for any service work. read more

Bunch of scumbags working here that only care about making a quick buck and do not care about customer satisfaction!!!! Went there today for a standard oil change and to have them see why my check engine light was on. Got a receipt that said I needed $2,100 worth of work done on my car. Told them to not do ANYTHING (even change my oil) until I talked to my father and brother. Went back to the counter and told them I was leaving and to not even change my oil. I was told it was to late and they had already taken the oil out of my car. Got my bill and it was $130 because without them telling me they went ahead and ran diagnostics on my car even after I told them NOT to. Took my car to another mechanic to get a second opinion on the repairs State Auto recommend and I needed NOTHING done that they suggested. All they care about is making a sale. Took advantage of a 20 year old girl. I will NEVER return here and recommend everyone stays clear of this place. read more
