Bill and Fernando were extremely helpful from start to finish. They diagnosed the issue, took care of the repair, and never once tried to upsell me on unnecessary work. They did point out a few items that may need attention in the future, but we had an honest conversation about what truly needed to be handled now and what could reasonably wait. I really appreciated that transparency and professionalism. It's not always easy finding a trustworthy shop, especially when you're new to town, but this was a very good experience. These guys are SCAMMERS. I went to get a fuel tank cover replaced. Got a quote for $100. When I came back to pick up my car the bill was over $200. I asked why the price doubled and the mechanic immediately reduced the price to $150. I smelt BS so I kept questioning the mechanic who worked on it. After I paid, and a few minutes of discussion, he mentioned that he broke 2 of the bolts and he didn't replace them. So I would have been driving around with a fuel tank cover that wasn't fully secured... nothing else holds the fuel tank on my car. He had NO intention of telling me if I didn't press him about it. Making the appointment over the phone was quick and easy and we were lucky to get an appointment so quickly because they were very busy as it was Saturday morning. Went there to have tires installed, tried to sell me on an $1100 wheel alignment that I didnt need, then called me to tell me that I needed a new battery that they had on sale for $199. The battery that I already had is only 6 months old and never fails to start. I told him no and lo and behold, when I picked up my car an hour later the battery was dead. Honesty, performing of repair. Sunday counter man told me I had four nails in my tire and that I needed new brakes. Neither was true. Following day I went to Nacho's tires in Mannahawkin where they removed a single screw from my tire. Brought my car back here after guys did good and fair priced new tires a while back. Came in for help with inspection of all systems on my car as I am considering keeping it after lease ends next month. Brought in, guys inspected everything and took mechanics time on lift for the check up. They found that all is in good shape and didn't even charge for this as I was repeat customer! WHHAAAT? They could've charged plenty and I'd gladly feel ok paying, the shop pays their mechanics for their time and all. In addition it would have been easy for them to charge me for some " repair". Cleric was rude. When the manager is off the kid in charge feels like he owns the place. Gave me price over the phone totally different from when I got there. Just got my wife's car and mine serviced few weeks ago he won't give me the same price I had receipts and descriptions of the products they use for an oil change and the services. I never leave reviews, but this time around felt the need to. I went in there 2 years ago to get a tire patched on my husband's truck. The man behind the counter was rude, no people skills. Fine, let it go, just needed the tire patched. Well today my daughter's car had a nail in her tire and needed to be patched, went to Jiffy Lube but unfortunately, they had no time to fix and was in a crunch and recommended I go to Mr. Tire up the road, didn't like my experience there last time but needed this tire fixed and hoping for a better outcome. Well, same rude man behind the counter. I get there at 12 and tells me it won't be done until 2pm, (place was empty but figured maybe they are going on lunch) and he would give me a call when it was ready. 2:42 rolls around, my daughter needed her car, so I call in to see what the status is of the vehicle, man tells me hold. He gets back on the phone and says yea its done. Well, that was great that he gave me a call to let me know, like he said he would. I get there and tell him the car, he rudely puts the key on the counter, I pay the $51 for the tire patch and instead of handing me the receipt tosses it across the counter and tells me all set. I asked him where my car was because it wasn't where I parked it when I first got there. He then proceeds to tell me may be around back or in the lot behind. No type of professionalism at all in this establishment. Don't bring your car here. My son brought his car here to get a oil leak fixed. The 1st time he brought it here, they said they fixed it. Next day, oil all over my driveway. He brought it there 2 times after that and each time said it was fixed. It never was fixed. I doubt they even looked at it. They even kept it there 3 days to say they would wait for parts and fix it. To give you some background and validity to my review-we have been loyal customers of Mr. Tire in Raritan for 23 years. We have brought every car of ours there for every maintenance needed in those 23 years. They were honest and reliable and we trusted them completely. Never did I feel like we were being taken advantage of and that's why we never went anywhere else. Then we moved here 6 months ago and decided to continue our service at Mr. Tire in Manahawkin. Big mistake. It is the complete opposite establishment from Raritan. We've taken all 3 of our cars to Manahawkin for an oil change. All 3 times, the price varied. Big red flag for us. I get that prices may vary slightly between locations but it's the attitude and delivery of the kid behind the counter. My husband walked out and we will never go back. I'd rather drive 1.5 hours to Raritan for service knowing that we aren't being taken advantage of. Just can't trust these people there. read more

Brought my truck in for tires yesterday ... was told that they did not have them and said they would have them today.... i do not have a problem with that ... received a call and said the tires came in .. i go there to get the tires installed on the truck and was told that they have someone that can do it right away " we are slow and have a guy that can get right on it ". i find the lack of professional personnel disturbing... about an hr after my truck was on the lift the tires were off and sitting on the floor next to the tire machine .. but it was good to know that the employees there had plenty of time to stand around and talk and goof off...meanwhile my tires are still on the floor .... now there were 3 guys in the shop and talking and 3 guys sitting at the counter collecting a paycheck ...meanwhile i am sitting here thinking to myself... it would be nice for me to go back to work so i can pay for the tires that are still sitting on the floor... i can not believe it took 6 people to get the tires on my truck ---- 6 PEOPLE ! That is about 40 minutes per tire .... no wonder the place was empty ! i have 2 cars and 2 trucks that i brought to them .... i will be looking for a new place to buy my tires . i would rather spend more for tires then lose time off of work ! it took over 2 hrs to have 4 tires installed on a truck . im sorry it is important to say that twice ! read more

The shop charged me for tires, that they did not have in stock. They made my pay up front to order them. However, before i left the store, I asked if they could put the car on the lift to check the wheels. The wheel was cracked, and since they could not install tires on a cracked wheel, I cancelled the order, not 10 minutes after the original transaction. I asked them if they had to run the credit card through and they said "NO it was not processed." Later, I find out that they charged me for $559.00 for tires that were never ordered or installed. Left my tire with them to patch a nail puncture, and they called back later and said their tire machine doesn't work with my rim. They recommended a gas station further down Rt. 72, who did the repair without any trouble. Not the end of the world but it's hard to believe a gas station was able to easily dismount and patch a tire that "Mr. Tire" could not! read more

On 17 May 2021, I paid Mr. Tire to install my new headlight assemblies and explain to the head mechanic how to remove the bumper. When I drove home, I inspected the job and noticed a gap between the bumper and main body of the car and also noticed a screwdriver gouge on both sides of my bumper than I open the hood to notice that my windshield wiper container was not attached to the car along with four (4) large plastic parts and several other parts were missing. The next day, the store manager inspected the job and noticed that it was missing parts and inform me that he will provide me a full refund and he will procure all the missing parts and have the bumper installed correctly. After a full inspection of the car by myself, I noticed the following issues; a). The two (2) plastics parts that lock the bumper to the car body was missing on each side of the vehicle along with its bolt. b.) Several plastics clip holding the plastic tray to the vehicle was missing. c) six (6) bolts that was supposed to secure the top of the bumper to the car was not attached and floating in a slot. d.) The bolt that secures the bumper at the wheel well was missing on each side of the vehicle. e) Several bolts and screws that was supposed to secure the bottom of the bumper to the car was missing along with its fasteners. Two weeks go by and no one is returning my calls, so I spent over an hour researching all the missing parts and I purchased the parts and four (4) weeks later, I installed all the parts myself. I called customer service at 1-800-876-6676 and I was told that the Shop Supply Fee of $17.07 will not be refunded. I also have not be refunded for all the replacements parts, after forwarded the invoice to customer service (1-800-876-6676). PS: Proper steps should have been to orders missing parts ASAP, repair the customers car ASAP, and provide a full refund and reimburse the customer for the lost or discarded parts. read more

I had work done on my wife's car. They removed the splash guards in the process. They never secured them back with the screws and driving down the highway they fell off. Went directly back and explained and they said they would order the parts and take care of it and call us when they are in. I would rate this place 0 or negative stars if I could. I came into Mr. Tire with an A/C that only blew out hot air. I left Mr. Tire without any A/C and an engine that severely overheated and broke down while I was driving, causing irreparable damage after they assured me the car was SAFE to drive. Now I have to get the entire motor and radiator replaced because they failed to put my car back together properly. Also, I found out they charged me to replace my spark plugs a few months ago, and never actually changed them. Just the icing on the cake to ensure I will NEVER go back here. Many times while getting my car serviced, Mr. Tire would simply not pick up the phone and never call me back. Always promising my car would be ready the next day. The next day would roll around, and they would have some excuse for why the deadline was being pushed back. Never notified me when the deadline changed or these issues came up however. I always had to show up in person after days without an update or call back. Terrible customer service, a straight up scam charging me for work never done, and incompetent mechanics who caused extreme damage to my car after I came in to fix a minor issue. Please do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. Update in response to the employee that responded to my review: I talked to 2 of the store managers and neither seemed to care at all. We were visiting Long Beach island from Albany, NY and on the day of departure we discovered our serpentine belt broke. No water pump, alternator or power steering-we were in trouble! We called causeway Ford and Goodyear but neither would help us out at noon on a Saturday, even after offering them extra money to fix it. We called Mr. Tire and they immediately took us in and fixed it quickly-we were in and out in about 45 minutes with a very reasonable bill instead of being stranded for another two days. I had 4 new expensive sport tires put on my 20 year old car in January or February of 2016. After driving the car a couple of times the rear tire kept going flat.. After less than 50 miles. 10 Months later I brought the car back to them thinking that I had a nail or something in the tire so I asked them to patch the tire. I left the car there, and a day later, they called me and said that there was severe tire damage to the sidewall and it couldn't be fixed. They had to order a new tire but they couldn't do it until Monday. I brought the car in on Friday. They called to tell me I needed a new tire, and I said, just order it and do what needs to be done. On Saturday, I drove by Mr. Tire and noticed that my car was outside with a fully inflated tire on it. It was going to rain that evening so I decided to go pick up my car, drive it home and put it in my garage until the new tire came. When I got there, someone was pulling the car back into the garage for safe keeping for the night. They saw me but I didn't say anything because I knew my car was safe for the night. On Sunday, the guy called me and said, they re-seated the tire and it was holding air for two days and I probably didn't need a new tire. I went to pick up the car and asked what they did, and they said they just re-seated the tire and it seemed to be fine. They charged me 27 dollars for the work. It seems to me that they messed up on the install in the first place. They should have not charged me anything but they did anyway. I don't trust these guys because they tried to rip me off for a new tire, but they saw me come and knew I would question the need for a new tire. I have had the car back for 7 days now and the tire is fine. So, they charged me for work that they messed up in the first place. Go to Quality Tire and Muffler two doors down. I met him in the absecon location when my tire blew out on the parkway and he helped me get an awesome deal on four brand new tires and he took my car in even though they were closing in 10 minutes because he saw my stress. Today i had to get a basic oil change and i work in manahawkin so i went to that location and he was there! Rip-off artist. Wife stopped for $19.99 oil changed and they told her a Prius is $69.99. Mind you the little car holds less than 4 quarts of oil. Full synthetic oil and best quality filter at Walmart cost $17.00 . So I guess they thought my wife was stupid enough to pay them $52.00 in labor for 0.3 hours ( listed book time for oil change on her car) .
