I've rented from State Van Rentals at least 6 times now in the past few years. I felt the need to type out this review because the one other review by David G. gave this place 1 star. I can't speak for the Los Angeles location, but I've had nothing but great experiences with the Las Vegas location. I've rented the following types of vans: 15 passenger, 12 passenger, and most recently the mini-van. The 15 and 12 passenger vans weren't brand new, but they were in good condition. The mini-van was very new, I believe less than 10,000 miles. And I've never had any unauthorized charges on my card like the other review said. Each time I've gone to rent from SVR, it's always been Mario at the office who processed my rental. He was always super nice. My favorite reason for the 5 stars? This is company should be torn down and never be in business ever again. After signing a payment of $2,000 PRIOR to seeing a 15 seater van, the employee at the front desk named Andrew showed us the vehicle... I have not seen anything as beaten up to the ground as what I just saw ever in my entire life renting cars. The van was damaged to the extreme. Side mirror was cracked, the rubber from the driver's side window was flailing loosely, probably more than 10 different dents, bumps and a ton of scratches everywhere around the vehicle. Inside was a literal zoo. The cuchions are cracked to the most extent, some were so bad that the foam is coming off. Floors were scratched up heavily as well. So now after seeing that, we decided to opt out. Mainly due to hazard and the SAFETY of our lives. We told Andrew we won't be getting this rental. He said the money should come back in a few days. Now 10 days later, the money is still not showing. After talking to one of the managers named Wayne, he was giving us a hard time. He said that the policy shows no refund and that the money will not be returned. This is getting disastrous. Now after talking back and forth, he said that the upper management can only submit a 50% refund, he even hung up after talking with us on the phone. That Wayne guy is a complete MORON and a CONARTIST. They are STEALING our money and they should be held accountable and should be investigated by the POLICE. We didn't even enter the vehicle nor drive it out the lot and they want to keep the money. FOR ANYONE PLANNING TO RENT WITH THIS COMPANY, I ASK YOU PLEASE AVOID THEM AT ALL COST. read more

This a scam of a company! My aunt tried to rent a van with this company. Made her sign everything before seeing the van and when they did show the van. It was so dirty, mirror cracked, and inside of the van peeling off. Right then and there she refused the rental. The employee, we think the name is Andrew, said they will cancel the rental and will refund the money in few days, which is $2,077.43. With the amount she's paying, she expect it to be in great condition and happy with the rental. We did not drive the car off the lot. Days later the charge is still not refunded and they refused to refund her money back. What a scam!!! Taking advantage of elderly and so disrespectful and untrustworthy people. We tried to call the manager, Wayne, and tried to reason. He hung up on us and said they do not do refund, which was not told by us at all by the employee on site. STAY AWAY! YOU ARE WARNED! We will spread the experience to all our family and friends in Nevada and California area so this won't happen again to unsuspecting renters. read more

I called multiple places and went in to some places with no luck. I should have called State Van Rental first! They were super friendly and nice and was given a great rate. Both gentlemen we worked with were great, but this review is for their stupid hidden policy. In order to get "unlimited miles" you must rent the van for 3 days. No biggie. After you pay, they make you sign that you have unlimited miles in CA and NV only. What is the purpose for that? Then they have a GPS tracker on every vehicle, so if you cross out of NV or CA then you'll be charged $0.39 per mile. This is absolutely absurd!!! Horrible business. read more

Recently rented a 12 passenger van from State Van Rental for a baseball tournament. Pete made the process super easy. He came to pick us up from the rental car center (short shuttle ride from airport) to take us to their offices. After a quick inspection and signing of paperwork we were on our way. The return of the vehicle was even easier. We dropped the van off at the airport and Pete personally gave us a ride to our terminal at the airport. One of our guys left a pair of shoes in the vehicle, and Pete made it very easy to coordinate so that we could get them back. The van was clean, process was simple, and customer service was A+. State van is a life saver! I experienced a TON of problems trying to renta van for an emergency last minute trip to California on a Sunday of all days. We needed a van for 7 people in Vegas, Grand Canyon, and Zion. The State Van 15 passenger van was obviously more space than we needed but was also cheaper than a minivan from the national companies. Hands down a great decision. Several days before our trip I get a phone call from State Van. A PHONE CALL. Like from an actual human. His name is Pete. Said, "Just wanting to touch base with you about the rental. Answer any questions you might have." Wow. It was a breath of fresh air. Pete was professional, friendly, and patient. I was most worried about returning the van after hours and getting to the airport at 5am. Pete talked me through it and everything worked out very very well. Super easy and convenient. Will definitely be renting again. Quick tips: Because I spoke with State Van beforehand I knew to take a power strip and extension cord to provide power to devices in the back. Also, because our trip included mileage outside of Arizona we didn't get unlimited miles. BUT, the "free" miles we did get (in our case 200 per day for 3 days) was very close to what we ended up using. Going over only added like $40 to our final charge. read more

My family recently rented two 15-passenger vans for one day during a family reunion in Las Vegas from State Van Rentals. The A/C was not working properly in either van, one van had a bad shimmy at highway speeds, and service warning lights kept coming on in the other van. Naturally these problems were not apparent until we were on the highway to a Hoover Dam tour and we didn't have time to return the vans. It was a very uncomfortable, sweaty trip. A requested discount was denied by the manager who told us nothing was wrong with the vans, that the A/C was just struggling due to the heat. What?!?!?! People were drenched in sweat after 30 minutes in the vans . . . and what about the warning service indicator lights? the shimmy? We didn't even mention the broken, taped-up side mirror . . . I would rate this minus stars if I could. Be safe. Rent elsewhere. read more

Beware of doing business with this company. On their contract, it says this: "Unlimited mileage applies in CA, NV & AZ & only for rentals of 3-days or more. Call for additional mileage pricing." At first glance, especially for first time renters, it sounded too good so the day before i pick up the van i called and asked about the mileage and the lady that answered the phone said the same thing "unlimited mileage for AZ CA and NV." I picked the van and returned it after 2 days and then i get an invoice with an additional charges for the mileage i used. Naturally, i called right away and asked why and the same lady picked up and said "first 200 miles is free and then 30 cents per mile after that" I was shocked to hear that, and on top of that, she started laughing at me when i started disputing the charges with her. In the end, they are just like other companies who take advantage of unsuspecting customers. If you live in NV,CA or AZ and you are looking to rent a van, look elsewhere. read more

Las Vegas We just used State Van Rental for a week trip in Las Vegas. While the outside of the 7 passenger van did have a couple dings, the interior of the van was great. The van was very comfortable and reliable and we drove it all the way to the Grand Canyon as well as Death Valley. We initially made our reservations with Tony about a month in advance. He picked us up at the airport having to wait for all six of us as our baggage pickup was delayed. He then helped us find our way back to the rental place as we couldn't find it on our return. A quick review of the van, and we were whisked away to the airport. Our experience was excellent. We did not get the additional insurance but did pay for the additional driver. Even so, another car rental place would have cost us $$ more. read more

State Van Rental, Las Vegas location, gets two stars only from me because of Carol's nice personality and good customer service the night we arrived (Thu) and for a good rental van we used while there in Vegas for our girls softball team. However, Carol misled me (unknowingly that night) to believe where to park the van on Sunday evening when we departed. Please make sure of the address and where to pull into the North Economy Lot (Kitty Hawk Way) to drop off your rental after hours or you will be charged a towing fee of $100 extra: Carol walked me out of the office and pointed across the street diagonally to Gus Giuffre Dr and an entrance there in order to park and leave our rental van. So, I did that with hesitation because there was no parking space number (to report back with) or even a shuttle van to the airport. But because that's where she specifically told/showed me where to go, I left it there with the keys and agreement in it locked up for the evening just like the instruction sheet stated. I now had to ask one of the Uber drivers to drive me to the airport for cash payment because the Uber app doesn't work in that lot in order to not allow other airport commuters to park in that "TNC" lot for free. If commuters tried to park in that lot (like I was told to do), they would have no way to get to the airport via Uber. Anyway, I did what I was told/shown to do. If you have to drop off after hours, please enter the drop off North Economy Lot off of Kitty Hawk Way, not Gus Giuffre Dr like Carol originally showed me. Hope this helps. read more

I rented twice from them. Rented a 15 passenger van EDC 2014 and it went really well. The second year edc 2015 i rented 3 - 15 passenger vans and i rented them 7 MONTHS PRIOR. 3 days before my pick up date they call to inform me that they have to charge me 600 dollars for delivery from California to Las Vegas. I had no other choice but to take the charge. Very upset customer and will never recommend this company again. read more
