Your sushi guy really needs to up his game. The new sushi counter at the River Road location is a vast improvement on offerings, samples and staff friendliness. I haven't seen sushi samples at Hidden Valley Staters in forever, and the quantity and quality have both gone downhill. The spring rolls have gotten much smaller. today there are no ginger slices and the wasabi is brown. old sushi,ugghh.... We will go out of our way for a sample (that varies, not the same old thing) and for the price, better quality. And a smille and hello when you are standing at the counter. read more

Watched the lady working the express lane turn her light off and standing there twiddling her thumbs till the one line open was full then she turns it back on. I would like to shout out what a great experience I have had at this Stater Bros meat counter. Specifically, I wanted to mention Michael Lewis, and his excellent customer service. Not only is Michael very knowledgeable about different meats that the meat counter carries, but he is also kind and quick to put a smile on my face when he is working. I have never been dissatisfied with the meat counter here, and always ask for Michael's help when he is present because I know I will get what I asked for in a courteous and professional manner. I came in earlier in the morning today a blonde girl with glasses who cashiers is the rudest person I've encountered at this store by far! This is my families and I favorite store to shop at. I've not used instcart before and made a $35.00 purchase I ended up paying $48.00 after fees and services. I won't use these people again too much money spent on a few items being delivered. They say it's free delivery but after all the fees they charge I find I didn't gain anything. So sad because it is conveinent but the price that I had to pay isn't worth it. read more

If I could leave a negative star....... Stater Bros on Hidden Valley in Corona. Spent 30 minutes+ filling my cart, at checkout there was a line of 8 people most also with full carts. Thought they'll get another cashier in a second......but no. It took literally 5 minutes B4 they called for help as the line wasn't moving AT ALL for whatever reason. Then another call for cashier help finally another cal for cashier help......nothin. All while I can see employees walking around ignoring calls for cashier help. Finally after 12 minutes of moving up about 30" I'd had enough! I walked towards the door leaving my cart full of food in middle of the aisle. Yes Stater Bros, that cart you had to put food away was me. So Stater Bros, you convinced me, it back to Ralph's. read more

I have frequented this specific Stater Brothers location off and on for over 10 years now and over time it has felt like a second home. Except for the fact I am still being charged for taking food out the fridge, but hey can't have it all and I suppose that's be one heck of a working diet plan. I'm sure you wouldn't eat if there's a charge attached to it. Haha! Above all I do appreciate the overall welcoming nature of the staff. It must be at least a decent place to work because they do seem to care about their shoppers and it does seem like they actually want to be there (as you can tell I had a recent experience at a sister grocery store that left me a bit spiteful). However no spite here as there has yet to be a time where the haven't felt welcomed here so certainly kudos to that. The one thing I've never seen go away is the value of the items. More often than not there are the $2 for $5 deals or just lower prices for things in general which both I and my wallet truly appreciate. Also I will give a huge shout out to the butcher area. Staters has always been my go-to for specifically hamburger patties. To me it's a guilty pleasure, but It's something about the variety of flavors (bacon and cheddar or the steakhouse are highly recommended) and the freshness of those mooing wonders that keeps me running back (I wanted to go with waddle, but I don't eat that many). In show business it's always a must to keep the crowd wanting more, but in the grocery world you always want to leave the crowd finding everything and quite happily this Stater Brothers has always excelled at doing just that which keeps me coming back time and time again! read more

I bought groceries from Stater Bros on Hidden Valley on the 24th. I bought one package of chicken legs and a package of chicken thighs for dinner. When I brought the chicken home I discovered that it was spoiled. The drumsticks were green at the bottom and the smell was horrible. 2nd Time in about 2 months I purchased first time T Bone steaks and 2nd time Rib Eye bone in steaks. Both choice. Both time I have been very unhappy with the quality of their meat. Maybe they buy special meat for their sales but the quality is not there. The store is clean and well stocked and prices are in line with regular markets but high compared with discount chains. Their meat used to be of better quality. Their employees are efficient and friendly. read more

Uciel in the produce department is wonderful. Has been assisting me in picking the freshest and most ripe products for a long time. Rarely, if ever, does he miss or get it wrong. Well lately Staters is running short on friendliness and some of the produce is not up to FRESH! some of the apples only after 2 days home were soft and some of the head lettuce was not fresh after only a few days in the fridge, I am sure they will try harder, I've been coming here since day one of the opening. This part is not about any food problems, but a little tip for getting more bang for your buck! When you want to buy hamburger and you might need more than 4-5 servings, try buying either round steak or big chuck steak have it ground up and you will be amazed how many more slices you will get than just 4. I bought Harris Ranch Hamburger and i got only 4 slices, a week later i went and had the steak ground up and I got 8 slices instead of only 4, and it cost only $10! so try it next time have the meat/steak you want ground up and BBQ it you will be amazed how tasty it is from regular hamburger and this meat is very filling too!!! (try even sirloin steak ground up) At the Yard House they have a wonderful (Rib Eye) tasting hamburger and then they just use salt/pepper that's all but WoW! read more

My favorite Stater Bros. location is here on Hidden Valley. I can always count on the same friendly faces--Margaret ( "how you doin darlin?") not to mention several others! I love their bakery. We always buy our birthday cakes here. No one beats Staters for taste quality and value on their cakes. I come here also for their delicious jalapeño bread. The store is always clean bright and stocked. Super professional competent staff. They also conveniently have a credit union inside the store along with an ATM that dispenses bills in $5 increments! It doesn't get any better when it comes to grocery shopping. read more

This review is for the goddesses at the bakery. The Von's bakery down the street canceled my cake order one day prior to pick up. They'd lied to me and told me the dinosaur theme my 3 year old picked had been discontinued. I showed up here fighting tears (man it's been a tough two years) just certain no one would accept a cake order with that quick a turnaround and these wonderful women fixed everything. They offered the same dinosaur cake (hadn't been discontinued after all) and are hustling to fulfill the order in time for my son's birthday. I am so relieved. read more

Thinking of switching stores. Lately I've had some troubling experiences. But I'm toughening it out because the bakery and deli are so great! And the butcher is great. Oh and Margret is a complete beauty with kind words always. But the new produce station with all of the wonderful goodies has become a hub of gossip. Every time I'm near it there's a group of employees conversing about how bad Staters is treating them, how their Union sucks and one guy cussed the f word saying he got his hours cut. This sort of thing has happened twice , the last 2 times I went. One time I asked a produce girl where I could find the fresh Basil , and she pointed and said " It's literally right there " I didn't need the attitude, I just needed the basil. More and more bad experiences but I'm so loyal to them. The new employees don't greet you they just talk to each other while ringing and bagging , not all of them , some have manners. What would you all do? Should I stick it out? Or switch? I'm hopeful that things will get better. I'll never quit their deli, bakery or meat department. But the rest of the groceries may have to be bought elsewhere. So there is minimal transaction. read more

I will give the store credit for its appearance. They keep the store looking clean and inviting. However, I always find the lines long here. Its in convient location so I feel as if that is part of the reason and there is Schools First Location inside as well. However, I don't feel its the prices that are bringing the people in. I would agree with others that have posted about their prices and how high they can be, especially on their fresh produce. Speaking of the produce I have had consistently bad experiences with it when I have broken down and purchased it. It goes bad quickly, the select sometimes seems to be a bit beat up. Overall it is fine as grocery store, clean and convient, but not by far my go to location for good deals and fresh produce. read more

I was leaving the store and opened my backdoor of my truck. About 1000 of my buisness cards fell out onto the ground. One of the employees named Aaron , I believe his last name started with R, stopped what he was doing and rushed over to help me pick them all up. He wasn't asked to help he just did what most others woukd not. Very nice young man and a great representative for your store. This has to be the worst store as far as manager and assistant manager. Was asked to take my service dog out of cart. She was in plastic shopping bag as always, never touching the cart. She has been to Vons, Wallmart,and two other stater bro's, no problem. She has been in emergency rooms, ICU and urgent care. I am leaving this review because of the attitude to witch they brought this to my attention. I am a veteran and take my service dog everyware, no exception. No sign outside to say otherwise. I made a pit stop to this StaterBros earlier this week for my lunch and I could not help but notice how clean and stocked all the aisles were, the fresh cut fruit in the produce was beyond what I expected. I appreciated how courteous and friendly the employees and cashier were. She asked how my day was going, and showed an interest in my groceries, she even recommended some ice cream brands for me to try. I was impressed on how quickly and neatly she bagged my groceries. She had a black coat on with medium dark hair she was nice and friendly.I got all of my shopping done within my lunch break! I will definitely will be returning to this store! read more

Incompetent manager. I was in line with my three items. The nice lady in front of me had an issue with her purchase. So he asks me to move to the other register to start a new line. So I grab my items and on my way to the register, the other cashier starts checking in other shoppers. So I'm standing at the back of the line like an idiot because the manager at the cashier didn't tell the other cashier. Why put me in the back of a longer line when I was next at my original line? Thank you Stater Bros Market in Corona. I have always gotten good service at this store. Today, I needed help (because I use a walker) and asked if someone could carry up a couple cartons of soda for me. Well not only did the young man carry up the soda but he also walked around the store with me, helped me at the check stand, and carried the groceries to the car and loaded the car. I've tried many times to like this location, but I just can't. More than once I've been overcharged on produce, which was annoying but wasn't a huge deal. What really stopped me from ever wanting to return was dealing with the surprise item I found while loaded my groceries into the car on a hot day. Some how the fabric softener that I had seen earlier off to the side at the register (I'm assuming was a 'go back' item) made it onto my receipt and in my cart. When I went back into the store to return the rogue item, the cashier made me feel as though this was my fault and had me wait off to the side until she checked out the rest of the lane (4 other customers with full shopping carts) before remedying the mistake she had made. My recently purchase groceries sat in my increasingly hot vehicle while the cashier reluctantly refunded me, which really only took 1 minute of her time. Most of my visits to this store have been at best mediocre. The only thing that makes dealing with employees that are completely disconnected/distracted slightly tolerable, is the cleanliness of the store. This is the one thing that Stater Bros excels at. Sadly, for me, having to tolerate listening to the younger employees socializing, gossiping, and making snarky remarks about customers to each other at the checkout instead of greeting customers turns me away for spending my money here. Stater Bros, you should follow what other stores are doing and provide self-checkout so that your customers don't have to deal with your employees. Very disappointing. read more
